The life of an individual unfolds over five decades through lived moments and prosthetic memories. This film was shot entirely on Kodak Super8 analogue cine film with single takes only. The 8mm frame size accentuates the film grain creating an unmistakable aesthetic and filming experience.

When showing the groove let the audience see it? how tiresome. So bad could not continue to watch. Did you even watch this video back. Put the lenses in the centre of the image instead of at the bottom, tiresome to watch. Dreadful!±
Gees, get rid of the screw driver when demonstrating, it is a distraction, better still a plain grey or white back ground,
Very useful thanks
Light meter Batteries????
When you use the timer, the mirror locks up during the first second, way before the shutter release. This eliminates the vibration due to mirror slap when using a tripod. This is a very important feature for astrophotography (use 'b' setting and cable release) and when using a telephoto lens.
how this video doesn't have millions of views is beyond me, it's so clear and concise
Thank you for making this video, I learned so much. A couple questions: - The +1 button - mine does not click into place. Is this something you hold down simultaneously while recording, or do I have a faulty cam? - The green exposure check button - nothing happens on mine. I'm assuming my meter is dead? The needle moves when I press the test button on the power switch, but maybe the electrics are shot.
When you open the back, it will expose the whole roll!
THANK YOU KING
A very informative video. I've also learned that you can tell an Ais lens from an Ai lens by the color of the highest f-stop. It they are both orange, it is an Ais lens. If the larger f-stop number (f32) is orange and the smaller f-stop number (f32) is white, it's a Ai lens.
Amazing! Thanks for the review 🙌❤️
Thank you for your video. Very helpful👍
Why these Nikon "experts" are not pointing out that mounting a non-AI Nikkor lens' on Nikon DSLRs will damage the camera.
where did you your eyepiece from? i'm looking to buy a new one for my braun nizo 571 but having a hard time finding it!
When I went back to a normal lens, it was bad and remembered the non-cpu lens. How do you turn it off.
Good point! Did you ever find out?
D800 should automatically detect a non cpu lens. If it doesn't, remove the settings for one of the non cpu lens in the non cpu settings
I bought a pristine FM2n a few years ago. Very clean, almost no signs of use. It came with Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 lens. I'm so over the 50mm. I found a 35mm f/2 AIS on eBay. It was a sweet deal. All my cameras have a 35mm; EOS R, EOS 1N, EOS 5D MkII. I have other lenses but I always go back to the 35mm.
You should try a 28mm
What film would give this camera the most cinematic feel?
great video are the nikon 1.2 50mm auto focus.
great info! helped me a lot. thank you!
Interesting.Cheers!
I have watched this several times and I think i understand now. Final print was as you said 25 sec grade five full print , then top of sky grade 2 and shingle beneath boat.12,5 sec each exposure omitting the actual boat as that was grade 5 ? is this about right ? . Best
understood up to the part of dodging and burning, could you explain what timings you used for the final print. Best
My fm2 can not back the mirror, so when i shot i cant reverse my mirror again
Hey, thanks for the Video! I think my exposure Meter is broken, can you Tell me on which side of the Manual exposure it is high and on which side it is low? Couldnt find anything on that online
How do I decide which paper to use tho? Ive been wondering about all the different kinds of grades and textures.
Omg I freaked out the background noises when I watched this at night with headphones
Ai lenses have all white f stop numbers and Ais lenses have multi coloured f stop numbers… that is the easiest way to remember the difference
Not true. Notice a 1:59 in the video that both the Ai lens at the bottom (Yellow 16) and the non-Ai lens at the top (Orange 22) have colored numbers. On the Ais lens, both large and small numbers for the highest f-stop are Orange.
Sorry Mr Dee, f1. 4, not 😷🌈
I was told that I couldn't mix and match the film speeds on the one cartridge because when you send to the lab you need to inform how many fps on the cartridge. I'm not sure there's a cue for this at the scanning stage. So you would need to film the whole cartridge at the one speed
Thank you so much for doing this!!! You helped me a lot understanding the feature. The in camera editing is a pretty cool feature too! I bought a Nizo 481 macro a while ago and I want to use it soon for the first time. I am still a little confused especially on how to know or how to get the exposure right. I've set the camera to F1.8 fixed and I rather would use an variable ND to compensate for the low F stop but how do I know if my picture is properly exposed?
Just added one to my collection of FE, FM, F3, F100, FA and F5 film cameras.
Hello Andrew, Great overview ! I have one like that but I find nowhere informations about the "white balance" switch. Is it made for Daylight films or Tungstene films? If I shoot with a Kodak 50D, should I turn the switch to the small sun or should I leave the filter off ? Thanks for the answer.
Good explanation. Thanks. I would recommend breaking out your tripod as the camera shake was distracting from your excellent content.
Wonderfull, and thanks.
Hi sir. I have dslr but i don't much regarding it. I just want to ask if these kinds of lens is usable for dslr? Or it's just intended for film cameras?
look in you deli menu and see if you have not n cpu data. if you do you can fit a manual focus Nikon lens which have amazing optics. look up my UA-cam video about using Ai and non Ai lenses on dslr cameras. the older lenses are so good
@@andrewdee7510 thank you sir.
I remember this model. I wanted one but couldn’t afford it, so bought a cheaper model. This is a solid work horse that can last a very long time.
solid vid my dude
The N in front of the serial number also denotes it's a FM2n.
Not sure if you guys gives a damn but if you're bored like me atm you can stream all the latest movies on instaflixxer. Been watching with my girlfriend for the last months =)
@Moses Jonathan yup, have been watching on InstaFlixxer for months myself :)
thank you so much. simple and easy to understand. you are right there is lots of good inexpensive glass out there that is not utilize. appreciate the time you put into this video
Классный👍. Хочу такой фотоаппарат😊
Nice overview Andrew! I love this series of cameras, the design esthetic is just so spot-on. The early ones didn't quite follow the exact same naming, as there was an S8 range that had anything from a 35 to a 56mm and then the S2 with a 40mm maximum along with the S128 which oddly had a 56mm zoom, while the S136 and S148 had ranges that reflected the numbers! I have a number of S series Nizo's but particularly like the later (non S) 561 Macro, along with the 156 Macro which is so small it fits in a jacket pocket nicely. By the way, the "B" click setting on the variable shutter lever actually holds the shutter open, not closed. The "B" is as in "bulb" rather than black. There is an additional position on the dial after single frame called "autom.B" that varies the individual frame exposure times for really low light filming and the classic light-streak effect. Also, the battery check is only for the meter batteries.
Great overview awesome cameras I have a s800!
Is the nizo s55 good?
This is super informative thank you so much!! I just won a Nizo S480 in an auction but I believe the cell battery cover I stripped and I can’t get it open. I’m pretty convinced that’s the reason it won’t turn on, especially because it came with film in it. I can’t wait to get it processed and see what the owner before me took:) Any tips? Thank you!
the small round cell cover with the slot is just for the light meter. there is a 6x AA battery pack in the fold down handle. slide the power switch on the side to the red dot and it should work fine. not a lot to go wrong with these. if the small round cell cover is jammed and the light meter is not working you will need to shoot on manual with a handheld meter
How much you bought it
about £400 from Sendean cameras who are the best specialists in London
@@andrewdee7510extremely expensive...
Great video. I have a question: I recently picked one of these up. I find that it's very difficult to dial in a perfect "0" exposure. I adjust the shutter speed and aperture until it gets close, and although it sometimes hits perfect exposure, it often doesn't. Oddly, when i put it on a tripod, it's more likely to get perfect exposure. Do you find this at all with your FM2? I'm debating returning it, not sure if something's wrong with it!
if you find that the correct exposure falls between 2 aperture settings leave it at that point, for example f8 and f11. you don’t have to locate each aperture exactly, you can set the lens in between for example f8 and a half. The tripod won’t have anything to do with the exposure.
@@andrewdee7510 Super helpful, thank you so much. I was just puzzled about the tripod situation, had no idea why it locked in when it wasn't getting perfect exposure handheld. Weird!
I just ordered an FM2n. This video is so useful! Thanks
Enjoy, it’s a great camera!
where did you buy?
Good job and explantation!
