It's honestly unbelievable that to just change a bulb these days you have to either have hands the size of a ten year old and be triple jointed to bend your wrist into awkward spaces or have to remove headlamp units and bumpers etc (and end up still taking it to a garage in frustration for them to do it) Whatever happened to being able to do simple things on the side of a road in an emergency when a bulb blows....

This guide helped me change both of my lightbults on my i30 2011 . It wasn't easy not gonna lie . Took me like 1 hour . Thanks a lot .
1st time always takes longer. I myself manage to fix it around 15 min per bulb.... 🙂
How do you turn Off the oven please?
@@elicastelli9728 There is no 'off' option, except for the power cord... 😁. What ís possible is to turn off the interior light (for instance if you want it cooling down quicker by opening the door) by pressing the left button for 5 sec.

This was just the ticket! Having a load of drivers flashing at me is never a good sign so i was worried when i saw how troublesome getting into that tiny space on the nearside engine bay would be. Before I watched this i had convinced myself that the battery would have to come out and that's a real faff! So thank you for your very clear instructions. It took me less than 5 mins to sort out- my i30 only needed two bolts taken out to free up the light assembly. Chapeau!
Two bolts? 😮... Mine had 3 to release... Hope your car doesn't miss any other crucial bolts.... 😂. Anyway, glad I could be of assistance....

I spent 30 minutes trying to get the back cap out before finally looking on youtube. Once I had a new bulb in hand, the job was so easy and took me less than 5 minutes thanks to your video. Thanks very much!
Hey Mark (🇳🇱?)... This was why I made the video. I struggled finding the 3rd bolt, although I had read on internet that there were 3 to unscrew. When I finally found it I thought that if Í had trouble finding it, others would as well... And thus decided to grab the cam and make a short (!!) no nonsense video. No adds, no introduction, just get to the point! (or in this case the lightbulb. 😊)....
What about corner indicator bulb..?

I went out to do mine, passamger side UK. Too cold today to do all those screws and bolts. What a polava just to change a bulb. The DRL are even mor hassle. But not in 1fegree weather. Fingers get numb and then next thing you know, staved fingers.

Tja, ik zat me ook elk half jaar groen en geel te ergeren aan die Smakzak... Wat een vreselijk beroerde bediening. Spijt van dat ding. Enfin, om het mezelf en anderen makkelijk te maken heb ik deze instructie even gepost. Over een half jaartje zie ik je weer terug hier.... 😁

take the battery out on the nearside and the relay box and bracket off on the offside...enough room to change out both bulbs...awkward but not impoosible WITHOUT removing headlights ,
I found that more hassle then moving (not rémoving) the headlights... 🙂
@@FrankMulderVideo Nothing wrong with your method Frank,saved a lot of people a lot of money,I must just be very dextrous but didnt find too much of an issue after removing the battery....the other side was even easier after moving the relay box and removing its bracket 👍

Which lights go for short and which for high beam, i.e. position, high beam and low beam. H1 IS HIGH BEAM, position? I wonder if the dipped beam is H7?

You shouldn't have to go to that amount of effort to change a bulb it's general maintenance these car companies should make these super easy to do I had to UA-cam how to do it because mine just blew and I was cursing the lack of space lol
True, true... Yet in other cars it's the same issue. I'm not sure how it is nowadays, but with the 1st SMART's the whole unit needed to be replaced. Glad to be of assistance so you could figure out how to fix it yourself.... 🙂

I went to the local garage today to get a new bulb for the headlight on the side where the battery is. I was preparing myself to try the method shown in this video but the guy in the garage asked if I'd like him to do it for me so I said yes. He just put his hand in the gap between the battery and the bulkhead, took the old bulb out and replaced it. Took him 30 seconds. No tools necessary.
That is a world record... 🙂 I simply cannot remove the cap of the light"house".... Yes I can unscrew it, but there simply is no space to move the cap away... My hands are not big, and thus moving the lamp unit a bit forward was the only way I could manage to replace it....

wonderful tutorial! on my 2009 i30 i even had to remove some screws above the 3 that attach the light - in that way making it even more accessible by loosening part of the metal on the side where the light slides out.

Well, i unscrewed the bumper from the front wheel arch and pulled the whole thing loose so i could take out the whole headlight units and do it properly.

Yeah I agree, unfortunately there's no free space to get the cap off to get to the bulb. 275 other have responded they were glad I was of assist.... 😃

Hi, had the same issue once with a defect led wingnirror light. I couldn't find the proper one to order on internet, so I had to let the garage order it, cause I could replace it myself.... 120 euros.. Absurd... The garage even gave me discount cause they felt ashamed on the price themselves as well...
