I think as a person of colour (myself) you should also be an ally with white people. Racism is not just something people of colour experience. Also I think the fixation of race will actually ruin your relationship. See people as humans first always and as individuals.

The curls should’ve been a mix of brown and color 27 so it won’t look to over powering and the braids just have to loosen a little

If you don’t like it cut out the curl hair and re dip it in hot water. You can also recurl the ends , and just crochet in another curl hair color .
