The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) is the recognized authority on children's oral health. As advocates for children's oral health, the AAPD promotes evidence-based policies and clinical guidelines; educates and informs policymakers, parents and guardians, and other health care professionals; fosters research; and provides continuing professional education for pediatric dentists and general dentists who treat children. Founded in 1947, the AAPD is a not-for-profit professional membership association representing the specialty of pediatric dentistry. Its 8,400 members provide primary care and comprehensive dental specialty treatments for infants, children, adolescents and individuals with special health care needs.

Sounds like all negatives with DSOs are “perceived.” Garbage...and you two know it. Have you told patients that because of your efficiency in negotiating higher fees with insurance companies they are actually paying more to see you than a privately owned individual dental office? Of course you haven’t. This is always going to be a discussion about ethics. Not about quality. It’s really about human nature. Tendencies we all have if pressure is being put on us. I’m sure you’re different..... but when a corporate entity is involved and they are looking over your shoulder and analyzing numbers. Eventually pressure will be put on you to produce. But certainly you are different..... At the end of the day patients should be fully informed as to whether or not they are going to a dentist that is involved in business or a business that is involved in dentistry. There is a huge difference. And if they knew the differences DSOs would dry up and go away. You are a cancer that is cannibalizing the profession.
