My guess is that they had requested some simple things such as "no pepper" or "no garlic" and maybe the cooks or server made a small mistake and did not do what was requested. The table got pissed off and blew it out of proportion. The "old bag" went around and started to stir up things in the dining area, which gave Gordon an impression she was trying to pick a fight.
