what the name of the band that sings
Michal helped her husband, David, escape from her father, King Saul who was determined to kill David. (1 Samuel 19;11-17). During the 8-10 years that David was on the run from from Saul, Michal never heard from him. How is it that a husband doesn't send for his wife or send some sort of communication to his wife for such a long period of time? In David's absence, King Saul gives Michal to another man. (1 Samuel 25:44). Still she hears nothing from David. During these same long years, David marries Abigail, Nabal's widow, and Ahinoam (1 Samuel 25:39-43). Only after Saul dies and David becomes King, does David send for Michal and it was NOT because he loved her. It was for political gain that he wanted her back and he reminded Isbo-sheth how much he paid for her (2 Samuel 3:14). He never mentioned he loved her or that he missed her during their time apart. I believe David's abandonment of Michal caused her bitterness toward him. The Bible makes no mention of what their life as husband and wife was like when Michal was returned to David. We just don't have any information about it until their final conversation. 'm not suggesting that bitterness is ever justified. It's the fruit of resentment and unforgiveness. I believe her sin and ultimate punishment was a result of turning to idols to protect David from Saul instead of turning to God (1 Samuel 19:13) and her failure to worship and appreciate David's worship of the One True God - Yahew. (2 Samuel 6:20-22).
