For what is seen is temporary, but the unseen realm is eternal.* 🍂As this year comes to end, take time to reflect on God's goodness over your life. Take time to thank Him for 2024. 🍂As human beings, we have our calendar and our timelines. God has His perfect calendar lined out for us. Trust Him! 🍂What you are fixed on is temporary. What keeps you worried is temporary. God wants you to fix your eyes on Him. On eternal things. 🌿Psalm 127:1-2 NIrV🌿 [1] If the Lord doesn’t build a house, the work of the builders is useless. If the Lord doesn’t watch over a city, it’s useless for those on guard duty to stand watch over it. [2] It’s useless for you to work from early morning until late at night just to get food to eat. God provides for those he loves even while they sleep. 🍂Stop toiling for those things that children of the world are toiling for. God's idea for your life was for you to get those very things without toil. God wanted you to walk into the very things that you desire. It's that easy. 🍂Stop comparing yourself with others. Don't judge your position now based on someone else's success. The Bible says it is not by power, nor by might but by His Spirit says the Lord. With the Holy Spirit on your side, what took others 10 years to build, you will build in 1 day, 1 month, 1 year. All you need is the HOLY GHOST! He is your secret code for success. *Ecclesiastes **9:11** NIrV* *[11] Here’s something else I’ve seen on this earth. Races aren’t always won by those who run fast. 🌿Matthew 1:18-25 NLT🌿 [18] This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit. [19] Joseph, to whom she was engaged, was a righteous man and did not want to disgrace her publicly, so he decided to break the engagement quietly. [20] As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. “Joseph, son of David,” the angel said, “do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit. [25] But he did not have sexual relations with her until her son was born. And Joseph named him Jesus. 🍂The story of how Jesus was conceived is something that is mysterious and mind boggling. The Holy Spirit came on Mary and impregnated her. It was a supernatural pregnancy without the aid of a natural man. Only Mary in the entire world was impregnated by the Holy spirit. This act has never repeated itself. Only Jesus was born conceived in this manner. 🌿Matthew 1:18 NLT🌿 [18] This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. There was no sexual intercourse between Joseph and Mary. The Holy Spirit was and is the Father of Jesus. He gave the seed that Fathered Jesus. 🍂When you think about Joseph, you can only imagine the heartbreak 💔 he bore when he found out that Mary his fiancee was pregnant. You can imagine what went through his mind. He was wondering which of the young men in their city had impregnated his girlfriend. Maybe he had a list of his suspects and the more he pondered on that matter, the more his heart was crushed. No wonder the Angel came to the defence of Mary and explained what had happened. 🌿Matthew 1:20 NLT🌿 [20] As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. “Joseph, son of David,” the angel said, “do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit. 🍂For a moment, let us think about Mary. Imagine her telling Joseph that the Holy Spirit impregnated her. Imagine the disbelief on Joseph's face. Imagine how confused she was waking up pregnant yet still a virgin. Imagine the shock on her when the Angel delivered the message and asked for her womb? Has it ever crossed your mind how much Mary had to digest as a young lady? Imagine being told she was going to give birth to the Saviour of the world. She couldn't even choose his name or give ideas about baby Jesus. Everything about Jesus was dictated upon her and Joseph and she just had to follow the script. 🍂The Holy Spirit spoilt an engagement between two lovers. He spoiled a wedding party. He denied the groomsmen and the bridesmaids an opportunity to celebrate Joseph and Mary's wedding. The Holy Spirit broke protocol and the norm of what a sanctified Hebrew marriage should be and had Joseph move in with Mary in a rush to cover up the pregnancy. The Holy Spirit made it look like Joseph was the culprit yet the Holy Spirit was the culprit. I can imagine what was said in the city about this young couple. People must have deemed them as fornicaters. Joseph who was seen as a righteous man must have been labelled unrighteous. This is a serious spoiler for the couple. 🌿Matthew 1:20, 24 NLT🌿 [20] As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. “Joseph, son of David,” the angel said, “do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit.* *[24] When Joseph woke up, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded and took Mary as his wife. 🍂Mary never got to wear her wedding gown, neither did Joseph wear his wedding suit. Their dream wedding was scattered and brought to a hault by the Holy Spirit. Their families woke up one morning and realized that the two were already living together and Mary was pregnant. To the people around, it was Joseph's doing. That is why most Jews don't buy into the story of Jesus at all. They are still waiting for the Messiah to come as their promised King. 🌿What we learnt about Mary & Joseph🌿 1. She was so trusting. She trusted what the Angel told her and she gave her womb for free. 2. Joseph was obedient. When he learnt that the Holy Spirit was behind Mary's pregnancy, he agreed to move in with her and father a child that was not his biologically. 3. Joseph was so loving. When he realized that Mary was pregnant, he ended their engagement privately and did not expose her at all. 4. Joseph believed in Godly dreams. When he was told in a dream what had happened, he believed the dream and he acted on the instructions given to him by the Angel of the Lord. 5. Joseph was a quick learner. He understood the assignment and he stuck by it. Once he realized the mind of God, he never deviated from what God expected of him. He understood Jesus' assignment and he brought it to fruition. 🌿Luke 1:26-38 NLT🌿 [26] In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a village in Galilee, [27] to a virgin named Mary. She was engaged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of King David. [28] Gabriel appeared to her and said, “Greetings, favored woman! The Lord is with you!” [29] Confused and disturbed, Mary tried to think what the angel could mean. [30] “Don’t be afraid, Mary,” the angel told her, “for you have found favor with God! [31] You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. [32] He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David. [33] And he will reign over Israel forever; his Kingdom will never end!” [34] Mary asked the angel, “But how can this happen? May everything you have said about me come true.” And then the angel left her. 🍂It is very clear in our minds now that Mary had a lengthy conversation with the Angel from God. Luke tells us his name was Gabriel. The Angel took time to convince her and the deal breaker in their conversation was when Angel Gabriel told her that Elizabeth had conceived. Mary knew that her relative was advanced in age and that was an impossible situation. She now gained confidence to trust Angel Gabriel with her womb. Mary breaking her vow of sanctity to Joseph was a tough decision. She never intended to hurt her fiance. I can imagine she wished that that conversation was held between her and Joseph but that wasn't the case. She did not get the opportunity to enjoin her fiance in that Angelic moment. She just trusted the messenger from God and agreed to partner with God for the sake of saving humanity. I believe strongly she did not understand in depth what that meant, but that glorious appearance of Angel Gabriel, the Heaven ambience sealed the deal and today we are enjoying the fruits of her obedience to God. 🌿Matthew 1:23 TPT🌿 [23] Listen! A virgin will be pregnant, she will give birth to a Son, and he will be known as “Emmanuel,” which means in Hebrew, “God became one of us.” 🍂Indeed, GOD BECAME ONE OF US!!! 🍂(I'll wrap up today's session with Mary's visit to Elizabeth and her song of praise). 🌿Luke 1:39-56 NLT🌿 [39] A few days later Mary hurried to the hill country of Judea, to the town [40] where Zechariah lived. She entered the house and greeted Elizabeth. [41] At the sound of Mary’s greeting, Elizabeth’s child leaped within her, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. [42] Elizabeth gave a glad cry and exclaimed to Mary, “God has blessed you above all women, and your child is blessed. [43] Why am I so honored, that the mother of my Lord should visit me? [44] When I heard your greeting, the baby in my womb jumped for joy. [45] You are blessed because you believed that the Lord would do what he said.” [46] Mary responded, “Oh, how my soul praises the Lord. [47] How my spirit rejoices in God my Savior! [48] For he took notice of his lowly servant girl, and from now on all generations will call me blessed. [49] For the Mighty One is holy, and he has done great things for me. [50] He shows mercy from generation to generation to all who fear him. [51] His mighty arm has done tremendous things! He has scattered the proud and haughty ones. [52] He has brought down princes from their thrones and exalted the humble. [53] He has filled the hungry with good things and sent the rich away with empty hands. [54] He has helped his servant Israel and remembered to be merciful. [55] For he made this promise to our ancestors, to Abraham and his children forever.” [56] Mary stayed with Elizabeth about three months and then went back to her own home.

And you do not have enough power.” This is what the Lord Almighty says: [7] “Big mountain, you are no problem. You will become flat ground in front of Zerubbabel. Then he will bring out the last and biggest stone of my house. The people will shout, ‘God bless it! God bless it!’ ” ’ 🌿Zechariah 4:6-7 KJV🌿 [6] Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts. Do it!’” 🍂Like most of us, Zerubbabel looked at the task ahead of him of rebuilding the Temple and all he saw were impossibilities. He was facing stiff opposition from the enemies who made his work difficult. 🌿Ezra 4:1-5 EASY🌿 [1] The Israelites who had returned to Jerusalem from exile were building the temple for the Lord, Israel's God. The enemies of the people of Judah and Benjamin heard that the Israelites had begun to build. [2] They went to speak to Zerubbabel and to the leaders of the Israelite families. They said, ‘Let us help you to build the temple. We also want to worship your God. We have lived in this country since Esarhaddon, king of Assyria, brought us here. All this time we have made sacrifices to your God.’ [3] But Zerubbabel, Jeshua and the other leaders of Israel's people said, ‘No. You cannot help us to build the temple for our God. We must build it by ourselves for the Lord, Israel's God. That is what Cyrus, king of Persia, has commanded us to do.’ [4] Then the people who lived near them tried to make Judah's people afraid. They tried to stop them building. [5] They paid bribes to government officers to work against the Israelite builders. Then they could not do the work. They continued to do this all the time that King Cyrus ruled Persia, until Darius became king. 🍂There enemies felt threatened that the Temple of the God of Israel was being rebuilt again and true worship was going to be restored. They hated the Jews and seeing them coming back and occupying their land again brought a lot havoc. I can only imagine that their enemies knew they needed to give back what they had repossessed forcedly back to the children of Israel. 🍂God did not see the stiff opposition Zerubbabel was facing. He saw a finished Temple and His people worshipping Him and offering sacrifices as it was before. God did not see a mountain, He saw a plain ground. God was able to see what Zerubbabel couldn't see. God will always see the end from the beginning. 🌿Zechariah 4:7 KJV🌿 7] Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.* 🍂God through Prophet Zechariah brought words of exaltation to Zerubbabel to encourage him to see beyond the lying vanities. God wanted Him to stay on course and not deviate. 🍂God wanted Zerubbabel to understand that the task ahead of him did not require his power and might. All he needed was the Holy Spirit to empower him in his building of the temple. The temple's rebuild was entirely the responsibility of the Holy Spirit. Zerubbabel's work was to take heed of His instructions and apply them. 🌿Zechariah 4:6 MSG🌿 [6] Then he said,“This is God’s Message to Zerubbabel: ‘You can’t force these things. They only come about through my Spirit,’ says God-of-the-Angel-Armies. 🍂As you wrap up 2024, just know that God has leveled the ground for you. Every challenge has been levelled for you. That thing that has been causing you sleepless nights is a delusion and does not exist in the eyes of God. Zerubbabel finished his assignment. No matter the opposition he faced, he stayed on course. Even when the enemies spoke on their faces, he still forged forward strong. That is the attitude God wants for you to have! Unshakable faith that looks beyond the issues at hand. 🌿Ezra 4:3-5 EASY🌿 3] But Zerubbabel, Jeshua and the other leaders of Israel's people said, ‘No. You cannot help us to build the temple for our God. I will build good roads for my people to travel on. 🍂This is God saying that you will walk into your victories without hindrances. There are no more obstacles in your way! The way has been cleared. Any unwanted factor in your life has been removed! Rejoice!!!

🍂The King of Assyria was a very proud man. He took pride in the prowess of his army and what the Kings before him had done. 🌿2 Chronicles 32:10, 13-14 NLT🌿 [10] “This is what King Sennacherib of Assyria says: What are you trusting in that makes you think you can survive my siege of Jerusalem? [13] “Surely you must realize what I and the other kings of Assyria before me have done to all the people of the earth! Were any of the gods of those nations able to rescue their people from my power? [14] Which of their gods was able to rescue its people from the destructive power of my predecessors? What makes you think your God can rescue you from me? 🍂The King of Assyria was blasphemous. He did not regard the God of Israel. He felt that he was bigger and stronger than the God of Israel. He made the God of Israel seem like a helpless God who couldn't save His people. 🌿2 Chronicles 32:15-16 NLT🌿 [15] Don’t let Hezekiah deceive you! Don’t let him fool you like this! I say it again-no god of any nation or kingdom has ever yet been able to rescue his people from me or my ancestors. How much less will your God rescue you from my power!” [16] And Sennacherib’s officers further mocked the Lord God and his servant Hezekiah, heaping insult upon insult. 🍂The King of Assyria was very belittling. He did not give a thought about King Hezekiah. He sent for him his officials to demean him before the Israelites. He instilled fear through his minions. 🌿2 Chronicles 32:11, 15 NLT🌿 [11] Hezekiah has said, ‘The Lord our God will rescue us from the king of Assyria.’ Surely Hezekiah is misleading you, sentencing you to death by famine and thirst! [15] Don’t let Hezekiah deceive you! Don’t let him fool you like this! I say it again-no god of any nation or kingdom has ever yet been able to rescue his people from me or my ancestors. How much less will your God rescue you from my power!” 🍂The King of Assyria lied about God! He insinuated that the shrines that were brought down by King Hezekiah belonged to God. Since when was God worshipped in a shrine? Since when did the devil become an Angel of light? Since when did the devil advocate for God? 🌿2 Chronicles 32:12 NLT🌿 [12] Don’t you realize that Hezekiah is the very person who destroyed all the Lord’s shrines and altars? He commanded Judah and Jerusalem to worship only at the altar at the Temple and to offer sacrifices on it alone. 🍂The King of Assyria had the guts of comparing the God of Israel to the gods of other nations. He forgot those were gods made by men. The reason he fought and won against them is because they were the works of men. These were gods of heathen nations that had no covering with the God of Israel. 🌿2 Chronicles 32:16-17 NLT🌿 [16] And Sennacherib’s officers further mocked the Lord God and his servant Hezekiah, heaping insult upon insult. [17] The king also sent letters scorning the Lord, the God of Israel. He wrote, “Just as the gods of all the other nations failed to rescue their people from my power, so the God of Hezekiah will also fail.” 🍂The King of Assyria thrived in instilling fear in the hearts of men. He spoke their language so he would further his demonic agenda in a known language of the Jews. He made sure the Jews heard his threats in their mother tongue. The main aim was to instill fear and subdue the city. (This is exactly how the devil thrives in speaking to someone in their native language, leaving no space of doubting that voice of hopelessness). 🌿2 Chronicles 32:18-19 NLT🌿 [18] The Assyrian officials who brought the letters shouted this in Hebrew to the people gathered on the walls of the city, trying to terrify them so it would be easier to capture the city. [19] These officers talked about the God of Jerusalem as though he were one of the pagan gods, made by human hands. 🍂The King of Assyria presented the God of Israel as a pagan God! He had no regard for the God of Israel. 🌿2 Chronicles 32:19 NLT🌿 [19] These officers talked about the God of Jerusalem as though he were one of the pagan gods, made by human hands. 🍂What the King of Assyria did not know is that King Hezekiah was a man of prayer. He did not also know that their was a Prophet in town called Isaiah who was prayerful too. When both the King and the Prophet prayed, the King of Assyria was brought to shame. King Hezekiah did not need to fight. 🌿2 Chronicles 32:20-21 NLT🌿 [20] Then King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz cried out in prayer to God in heaven. [21] And the Lord sent an angel who destroyed the Assyrian army with all its commanders and officers. So Sennacherib was forced to return home in disgrace to his own land. And when he entered the temple of his god, some of his own sons killed him there with a sword. 🌿2 Kings 19:14-20 NLT🌿 [14] After Hezekiah received the letter from the messengers and read it, he went up to the Lord’s Temple and spread it out before the Lord. [15] And Hezekiah prayed this prayer before the Lord: “O Lord, God of Israel, you are enthroned between the mighty cherubim! You alone are God of all the kingdoms of the earth. You alone created the heavens and the earth. [16] Bend down, O Lord, and listen! Open your eyes, O Lord, and see! Listen to Sennacherib’s words of defiance against the living God. [17] “It is true, Lord, that the kings of Assyria have destroyed all these nations. [18] And they have thrown the gods of these nations into the fire and burned them. But of course the Assyrians could destroy them! They were not gods at all-only idols of wood and stone shaped by human hands. [19] Now, O Lord our God, rescue us from his power; then all the kingdoms of the earth will know that you alone, O Lord, are God.” [20] Then Isaiah son of Amoz sent this message to Hezekiah: “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I have heard your prayer about King Sennacherib of Assyria. 🍂Only one Angel was sent by God to deal with the Assyrian army. He left no stone unturned. He executed the mission without fail and shamed the King of Assyria and his useless gods. That day it was known that the God of Israel lives and cannot be provoked by man. 🌿2 Kings 19:35-36 NLT🌿 [35] That night the angel of the Lord went out to the Assyrian camp and killed 185,000 Assyrian soldiers. When the surviving Assyrians woke up the next morning, they found corpses everywhere. [36] Then King Sennacherib of Assyria broke camp and returned to his own land. He went home to his capital of Nineveh and stayed there. 🍂Mockery to God is surmountable to death. The King of Assyria invited a death warrant on himself. His own sons killed him as he worshipped his useless gods. The tables turned against him. His own flesh and blood turned against their own dad. The King of Assyria was killed inside the temple of his gods, the very gods he boasted about. I can imagine the disbelief on his face as his sons took his life away. Even his gods could not help him out. This was the doing of the God of Israel! 🌿2 Kings 19:37 NLT🌿 [37] One day while he was worshiping in the temple of his god Nisroch, his sons Adrammelech and Sharezer killed him with their swords. They then escaped to the land of Ararat, and another son, Esarhaddon, became the next king of Assyria. 🌿2 Chronicles 32:21 NLT🌿 [21] And the Lord sent an angel who destroyed the Assyrian army with all its commanders and officers. So Sennacherib was forced to return home in disgrace to his own land. And when he entered the temple of his god, some of his own sons killed him there with a sword. 🍂Prophet Isaiah knew how it was gonna end for the King of Assyria. God gave the Prophet the entire script and it played out as God had said. God cannot be mocked. You cannot speak against His sovereignty and survive. You cannot belittle Him and live! 🌿2 Kings 19:1-7 NLT🌿 [1] When King Hezekiah heard their report, he tore his clothes and put on burlap and went into the Temple of the Lord. [2] And he sent Eliakim the palace administrator, Shebna the court secretary, and the leading priests, all dressed in burlap, to the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz. [3] They told him, “This is what King Hezekiah says: Today is a day of trouble, insults, and disgrace. It is like when a child is ready to be born, but the mother has no strength to deliver the baby. [4] But perhaps the Lord your God has heard the Assyrian chief of staff, sent by the king to defy the living God, and will punish him for his words. Oh, pray for those of us who are left!” [5] After King Hezekiah’s officials delivered the king’s message to Isaiah, [6] the prophet replied, “Say to your master, ‘This is what the Lord says: Do not be disturbed by this blasphemous speech against me from the Assyrian king’s messengers. [7] Listen! I myself will move against him, and the king will receive a message that he is needed at home. So he will return to his land, where I will have him killed with a sword.’” 🍂The King of Assyria Sennacherib got what he deserved! He wanted to kill the Israelites. Instead, he was the one that was served his own blood. He died by the sword of his own sons. His army was killed by an Angel! History was written and we are still marvelling at how God played it all out! Indeed,God cannot be mocked.
