Ha Ha,this takes me back .Did Shotokan 72 to 80. Our dojo sometimes got so crowded, doing kata was quite dangerous as our sensei said clear your mind and if anyone gets in the way its their tough luck while doing your kata .One of our big guys got carried away and ended up doing his kata in the hall kitchen ,we could hear pots and pans flying round the kitchen as he kicked and punched his way round in a small space. Great video.I am age 80 but still miss it .

I love keage.i have perfected it to a straight on high snap kick ( don't turn sideways )
it is not only how you perform keage ,it is how strong is the end impact.....like an arrow although it hits the target ,does not penetrate.....
Yes I used it often in kumite.long since finished shotokan ,but still practise jodan keage. I kick the inside of door in the house .With trainers on .Gives a real hard sounding whack.The wife not best pleased ,but WTF
Yes , correct .obviously in day to day life I do it with trainers on and I can make a real hard kick with edge of foot against even a solid wall .I can stand sideways on my ankle joints , so can turn my foot just before impact .Great kick and great presentation on how to perfect it.
