The Easystreet Band Live 10-30-81

Times long past. This performance of 16 Easystreet 'originals' was recorded at the home of Keith Maris. We played there for a Halloween Party on 10-30-81. Recorded on a Toshiba stereo tape deck, with two Radio Shack mics. The photo of the band onstage is from a different show five months earlier, at The Valley West Club in Tarzana CA, in May of 1981. The black and white group photo was taken by...

saltyroserocks.com/ Home recording wasn't a thing in 1982. At least not for us. The Porta-Studio was debuted in 1979 but wasn't something we'd seen, could afford, or even know how to use. Home computers were just being conceived. Creating a band 'demo-tape' was traditionally, and to our mind, done in a professional recording studio. The kind used by record company's. We would practice recording...

I love the walnut finish and the skunk stripe on the back of the neck. The block inlays on the maple fretboard is the shizznit 👍
It really is a looker!
5:28 That low E string tuned to a D? I didn’t see you hit it once. I usually tune the low E up to a G as well so I get a doubled G. Cool!
It’s a low D. Apparently I only play on the top 5 in that tuning. Good eye😎👍. Thanks for watching!
@@saltyroserocks457 I had them done a couple of years ago. lol
I heard it was crap.
Thanks for watching and commenting
nice rig!
Thank you!
Beautiful 🤩..my great friend the one and only Michael O’Neill
The best
Looks like a lot of fun.
thanks for watching and commenting!
That thing is a beast, love it.
It is a Beast!
These are definitely great amps! Just don’t say it too loud cause the price is still attainable for just about anybody lol
;)
Now that's a gig bag I like.
These things are great!
Wow 🎉
Ooooh shiney!
My best friend for 55 years.
✌️😎👍
Nice tone!
Thanks!
Hey Salty Great demo! The guy that sold me my 3203 years ago wouldn't sell me the 4x10 it came with, so ever since I've been using various cab combinations, it's really great to hear the old girl in her natural habitat. I recently found a clean 1965 cab, but I realized it's way too loud for any gig I got these days Great tone!
Thank you! There’s nothing like a Marshall Amp when it comes to rocking! But I gig mostly with a Princeton myself, these days🤘😎
Oooo shiny!
Right???😃
Pretty sure I was at that party.
Wow!!! Do you remember the PA System getting knocked over?
@@saltyroserocks457 I must confess that I don't remember that.
Rock on
🤘😎
I was thinking about Katina Burnett the day before yesterday. I like that you dedicated this to her and to Pops.
These recordings wouldn’t have happened without Katina. And Pops always supported the band. Both are missed.
good video, thanks for the demo! by the way, sharp suit! 👌
Thanks for watching!
Are you going to buy another worn casino? LOL
Ya never know😆
That's a nice chunky neck.
I really like my Worn Casino. But you can not beat the look of that and I am sure the feel also. I just have a slight rattle sometimes that I have not been able to find for about 3 years. LOL
Those worn Casino’s are great! Another difference is the neck profile- the worn is kind of a flatter profile, the Nashville is rounder. Thank you for watching and commenting!
@@saltyroserocks457 I l always enjoy your videos.
Thank you! I’m glad you like them!🙂
I bought a $230 Tagima Strat copy. The pots were cheap so I went to Stew Mac for replacements. I decided to just get the loaded pickguard. With some "adjustments" it dropped in and the sound is impressive. I am not afraid to gig with it. It is not gonna replace my American Standard Strats, but it is now a decent guitar.
Yes!
Where does one get a Stay Salty t-shirt?
Industry Horror in Ventura🤘😎
I had a 74, any time I used it live, the sound man told to please play your Krammer
Interesting! 😎
have a Willie nice day.
ok i willie :)
25.5 scale= Gibson L5 scale.
Yes! Thanks!
Great job. I know the nut width is 1.65, but how's the neck profile front to back compared to a Fender Player P or a J?
I have very limited experience with the Player Series... But compared to 60's and 70's Fenders (which do vary) I'd say it's smaller than a P. The neck width, nut to bridge, is not as tapered as a J. It's kind of rounder, front to back. YMMV, of course. It reminds me of Ricky's I've played.
@@saltyroserocks457 thx very much!
Very cool
Thanks!
tabs?
No tabs, sorry, I usually create a chord chart though. Thank you for watching and commenting!!
Love it!
I installed a Leo Quan Badass tailpiece on my Coronet. Plays perfectly in tune Los Angeles
Great advice, thanks! And thanks for watching!
I own the Danelectro Baby Sitar and the Squire copy of the Coral Electric Sitar and guitar techs have a tough time setting them up. I'm visually impaired so I don't work on my sitars. A demo on how to set them up would be a real gift. Thank Shiva!
Thanks for watching!
What chu talkin bout
Guitar
The pickup is only sounds weak if you don't have something like a Fishman Aura to plug into.
ah ha! I don’t have one of those☹️ ✌️😎
What other modifications did you do to the guitar? Did you change the P90 pickup? What do you think of the overall feel and sound?
The pickup is stock. I've played a few Epiphones these last couple years and I think the stock Epiphone P-90's and the Humbuckers in those IBG 335's are just fine. They are better than adequate. The bridge tailpiece and the shim to raise the pickup were the only mods I felt compelled to make, and both were an improvement. I kept the stock tuners because they worked fine on this guitar. Also, I worried changing the tuners might affect the balance of the guitar. It balances ok, but it's right on the verge of being a neck diver, so I didn't want to ad any weight to the headstock.
❤
Just wondering why this guy is wearing a mask I mean I realize this was 2 years ago during the pandemic but I'm just saying - just weird
He was caretaking for an elderly person and he was being careful. More thoughtful than weird, in my book. Thanks for watching!
@@saltyroserocks457 Didn't know there was someone else there.....calm 👇 down
I have the same bass in lefty.
Nice!
My GWW had a crazy amount of fluff inside. Wraptailpiece had it stuffed between strings. GWW came with 22 CS 58 LP DC
Right on thanks for watching!
a SG Guitar with Gibson innards, Marshall amp and good attitude.. all boxes checked.. rock on!
🤘😎
Mine is a 2002 and I find it too thin, low output, and ice picky. And I have thicker strings. After watching several videos of authentic 69s, they sound similar but not so thin.
Total garbage.
This is beautiful. is this original?
yes it was written by Kent.
@@saltyroserocks457 even you on the bass is brilliant I also like the reverse sound.
Hi Salty. This is funny. I have several Gibsons and Fenders and at this moment i' m playing in blues band and have thought the same. Getting me a cheap guitar like the Coronet and use it for slide in open tuning. Have you had any problems with the setup? I'm thinking of rising the the strings and things like that. Greetings from Sweden and great playing.
Greetings from California! The Coronet, out of the box, required some set up work. While it seems to be a simple and solid guitar, the tuning seemed a little unstable. The StewMac bridge seemed to fix that issue. The Coronet also didn’t have as hot a signal as my Gibson Juniors, so I raised up the pickup (1/8” shim) and that was an improvement. These are great for slide! The one piece neck is a nice feature that you never see at this price point. Rock on ! 🤘😎
