Ep 053 - Nice Ring Found, Beach Metal Detecting. Problem: Headphones Not Pairing to Equinox 900
Join me on another fun adventure beach metal detecting (live dig) Vancouver Island, British Columbia (BC), and the PNW (Pacific Northwest), using a Minelab Equinox 900. In this episode I find a nice ring and some coins metal detecting a beach on the coast of (VI) Vancouver Island (BC coast).
Problem (issue) with headphone not pairing or syncing on the Equnox 900.
I also experienced an issue with my equinox 900 (nox900) headphones not pairing or syncing with each other. Even if I turned the machine off and on, and reinitiated the pairing process. Nothing! I finally fixed it. you have to hold the function button down on your head phones for 10 seconds and let go. You may have to mess around with it a few times. After doing that I was able to get the headphones to pair again.
Enjoy this live dig metal detecting video using the nox 900. Please like and subscribe!

Maximun depth brother big object thanks
Hello from Vancouver Island
Thanks for your support and watching the video. Much appreciated.
Cool!
Do you have any info on the old bullet? I have found many like that one and looking for more info such as the year.
I am thinking it is from an old musket, but didn't do any in depth research on it yet. I have a few bullets and musket balls I want to research more on.
I experienced an issue on this hunt with my equinox 900 (nox900) headphones not pairing or syncing with the machine. Even if I turned the machine off and on, and reinitiated the pairing process. Nothing! I finally fixed it. you have to hold the function button down on your head phones for 10 seconds and let go. You may have to mess around with it a few times. Looks like a fun hunt. Nice ring, the circuit circus token is cool too. I like metal detecting because it helps me relax.
Thanks Trail! I find detecting helps me relax too. Thanks for all your positive support to this channel.
A ring is a ring! Nice find!
Totally flip it
I am going to try soon, have to bring my machine out. See if there is anything juicy or worthwhile under it.
@treasuresleuthbc make a video lol that would be neat if there was. Hey im curious is you know of a metal detector that can be dropped im deep water off a boat but give a signal to a person on the surface. Ive tracked down a treasure and i think i know where it is.
A lot of the treasure hunters are using magnetometers or image scanning devices. It would be nice to have an underwater drone that has a metal detector attached to it, and a claw hand or two, to grab objects. As far as a detector mounted on a boat shooting signal down into the water, in my opinion I don't think that would be all that effective at this point in time with technology (on most standard detectors). You'd probably want the drone, or a diver going down with a detector. Most conventional metal detectors will have depth limitations on dirt or sand, some maybe go 6" down in depth, some up to 18" or more depending on the size of the object as well. Technology is always improving, there may be a machine out there that can be pulled by a boat and shoot signal into the water and get exact read outs of metal composition, location, etc., but I haven't come across anything like that yet. I know on the Oak Island Show one of the seasons two guys showed up claiming they had military grade satellite imagery of the island and pinpointed areas where metals would be. I never really saw anything come of it. Some treasure hunters also use dowsing rods to locate various minerals (silver, gold, copper), but I haven't seen any real proof or evidence myself that it actually does work, but maybe it does, I just haven't seen anything yet to convince me. If you do think you know where a treasure is, keep it to yourself, if you tell anyone, make sure you can trust them. Greed does stuff to people head and their thinking. I hope that helps you. If anyone else is reading this and a treasure hunter, feel free to chime in if you have an opinion on this.
@treasuresleuthbc oh its more of a treasure of history not so much gold value. The drone idea is genius actually
Tofino beach? Chestermans?
SHHHH it is a secret. lol :)
@@treasuresleuthbc 😂😂 Which one is it...i live on the island.
Yes!
Had a blast. Will do that again sometime and I’ll plan it so I don’t have to run away so soon
Looks like a fun hunt with Dan.
Dan's the man.
I didnt realize you had a srore great stuff im going to check it out, Happy Hunting 😊
Yes, please feel free to check out the store, if payment is received I always ship the items out. If you are more interested in jewellery over coins and tokens, message me on the site that I have I can direct you to all the jewellery listings. Regardless if you buy something or not I really appreciate your support of the channel Mandy. Thank you!
Lots of coins great hunt, awesome Japan coin/weight find i dont think i have ever seen anything like that
Ya that was weird to see Japan on the weight. I have fished for years and never saw a sinker like that. Maybe a tourist used it to fish and lost it?
I hope that McQueen has a good home
It did find a good home. A young boy on the beach came up asking what I was doing. I showed it to him. He said he collects those cars but doesn't have McQueen. I told him to ask his mom if it's okay, she said "yes." So he gave it a new home. I classified it as a pay-it-forward.
Update: This mystery has been solved. This round piece of leather is Peruvian, the character symbol is Viracocha the Inca God. Viracocha is a creator deity in the Inca culture belief system. The piece of leather is from a leather Peruvian seat/stool you sit on called a puff. The piece I have is the top where people sit, the stool would have leather wrapping around the side of it as well.
Hot rock makes sense. I’ve found similar in my own back yard and at other beach’s
That hot rock you found today is pretty cool.
I wonder if a magnet would be attracted to it? Ferris?
A strong magnet will stick to it.
old steam engine debris
Good theory, I have found rail road spikes on the same beach, but no history of RR in the immediate area. I often wondered if a barge with a train washed up. Another theory is slag from people pouring, or working with metal on a beach.
@@treasuresleuthbc I've never considered the beach being used for pouring. It seems so obvious now. I think you nailed it there.
Meteorite?
Good guess, but don't think it's a meteorite. But who knows?
Found lots meteorite rocks today on the beach
I have used my 900 about 25 times now. I hunt coins and rings in the U.S. I thinking on notching out 1 through 10. Do you feel I could lose some gold rings? Watching your video and my limited experience with the 900 I feel I could notch out 1 through 10?
Thanks for watching from the US Ray. You could do that, but keep in mind in the target ID video it is air testing. A target ID on an object can sound different in the ground covered for years in dirt and sand, compared to an air test. Not uncommon at all to be working a beach and the target ID shows one number, but when I get it out, it has adjusted on the target ID. I will also never forget a detectorist (youtuber) using a nox800 on a beach, he was in all metal, and deep down he was getting that hum-hum-hum like iron trash sound. He started digging it up, as he exposed it more and more the target ID changed, the hum-hum-hum started going away. He ended up digging a gold necklace. My advice is investigate as many targets as possible. Sometimes what we think may be trash, can turn out to be treasure. But with that said, sometimes we can find ourselves in a park working some grass and fill was brought in to level the ground many years back. It can be trashy, lots of small trash objects. You may want to in that case notch your machine out, or instead of notching, make a mental note of it, and pass it by if you keep getting the same trash target ID.
Interesting! think it's plausible that they could be manmade and carved into the rock. Whether or not Spaniards did it, i don't know, but i think someone was leaving clues to come back at a future date. If they are clues, only the person leaving them knows the true meaning. I would definitely investigate further. ⛏ if you have the budget get some LIDAR scans from a drone of the whole area around it. There are mines in North America that have been found that never had a registered claim. This could be a scenario like that. Something else thst needs to be addressed is if these rocks are in a river, have they moved over time, possibly for many years downstream? I would try to find more clues in areas nearby, scouting around, maybe higher up in elevation, where water isn't flowing. Please keep us posted if you find more.
Thanks for you input, Anthony. I will definitely search around the area more even higher up in elevation. Interesting theory with the old mine. Unfortunately don't have access to lidar, but it is something I would like to add to the arsenal of tools.
Someone actually found it 😮😂 that's mine😅😊
I am moving back to the island at the end of July. I will be in Cobble Hill.
That's awesome John. Cobble Hill is a nice area, between Mill Bay and Duncan. You're also not far from Victoria, just have to go over the Hat. I hope you enjoy being back on the Island. Maybe down the road we can connect, do some panning or detecting.
@@treasuresleuthbcI will buy lunch.
Nice hunt old silver ring
Thanks 👍
I'd put a Y on the rock beside it then a ? mark next to that one.
That is very cool ... carbon dating would be the only way to know for sure
True that.
Awesome hunt! so seeing so many south paws lately! new sub! watching from South Africa
Hey thanks for tuning in from South Africa and recently subscribing. I really appreciate it.
Looks like aztec but im no expert.
That's what I was thinking, or Peruvian.
pick it up and move it somewhere else
If it was located it would be intersting to see if it's Spanish items, Chinese, or a mix of artifacts from various cultures.
Yes it would be interesting to find out.
I think it's possible that there's truth to Ed's story, but think people have added to the legend over the years. I'll check out the blog, i enjoy reading BC treasure stories.
Nice rings great hunt
Glad you enjoyed the hunt. I will always welcome a day like that over a day of pulltabs and pennies. lol
Treasure awaits ATB
Found one like that out by tofino last year as well and wondered something
Very interesting Max, thanks for letting me know. If you get a chance check out the other short vid I did going up stream a little. Found two more interesting rocks with possible shapes/symbols, but still uncertain if they are natural, or man-made. Also if you are out exploring the west coast around Tofino, there is legend of a Spanish Galleon going down around there.
That's wild! In my opinion, the second rock, the sun symbol could mean mine or minerals nearby. The curved lines could mean stream, tunnel, or cave, triangle could mean "on or near." The first rock eith just the arrow could mean entrance, or go opposite direction. I think it's man-made. I would look into it more. If it is treasure, there could be a smaller give away loot, while a bigger stash stays undisturbed, hidden deeper. Good find.
Thanks for the input Trail. Very interesting theories you have. Much appreciated.
Nice finds! It's always nice to find gold and silver rings.
Lift it up
Don't get crabs! 😅
I don't think Slumach had a mine. I think he robbed miners. But thats my two cents!
I've heard that theory before. Thanks for sharing your input.
I'd investigate further.
A crab rescue. lol 😂
Nice rigs! Thumbs up. I am checking out your vid from WA State. Sibscribed!
Good hunt you killed it! Nice rings. I'm watching from North Texas.
Could be a geocash.
Consider the directions each point went
Thanks for watching the vid. Yes, and is that X one of many, and all together (if there are more found), converge into a single point? It raises many questions.
Depends... I mean if it was an ex-girlfriend or ex-wife... Howya doin'?... And why are you sitting on a rock when there is so much drift wood?
haha! Never really thought of it from that angle. lol
Nice hunt. ATB
Thanks bud. I was checking out your latest vid, really nice hunt you had.
X it QUICKLY, LEAVE🙄👍
Well now I know where to put all the X's I've been collecting.
