I was 10 years old when this song came out in 2010. I was in 5th grade surrounded by all my best friends. I remember listening to this song and songs like this all the time on the radio at that age. Songs like this are pretty much engrained in my head as a staple of that period of my life. While for a lot of people this song makes them think of a breakup, a relationship they once had/have, or a loved one, this song just brings me so much nostalgia and longing for my childhood when life was so much simpler and innocent. It makes me think of playing my favorite video games on the wii/PlayStation/computer with my friends, swimming in the pool with my friends, running around playing outside with my friends, riding our bikes, going to the bowling alley, watching my favorite shows on cartoon network/nickolodian, and it was often playing on the radio to and from school. Songs like this were playing in the background a lot of the time during these times. It really was a different time and now those times are over but I will carry those memories with me forever and i am thankful to still have some of those friends in my life until this day. Life feels so much different now than it does back then but i guess thats jut apart of getting older. Im 24 now and I still try to find that spark and music is one of the only ways I can recapture that but I know itll never be the same again but it was fun while it lasted. Listening to this song truely takes up a whole new meaning now. Thanks for the memories.
