What can be said of meatloaf? Maybe the greatest singer songwriter composer performer ever, at least there with Freddy Mercury, Prince, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Bowie, Stevie Ray Vaughn, etc. I believe the album Bat out of hell has been in sales the top 200 every year, since it came out! Thats 50 years !😮😮😮 Its the story of a boys life, to adult middle aged guy. About twenty years after this, he did a followup album, back into hell, also a monster seller! The last thing i saw him in was Fight Club and the first thing i saw him in was the cult classic, Rocky Horror picture show! RIP to the great Meatloaf! How big huge influential important was Rocky Horror? There used to be an old school turn of the 1900s theater in Houston called the Alabama Theater. A big screen , big stage in front, various balconies. From the time this movie came out, they would play this at midnight Friday and Saturday night. And dozens of people would come dressed in full costumes, and play and sing every part, on stage and in the aisles, every part, including throwing buckets of water during the rain scenes!😮😮😮 And i think this went in from the 70s through the 90s!!! And in this song, the decades long baseball announcer Phil Rizutto.... meatloaf asked him to come in and do this, he came in, listened to the song twice, wrote his baseball announcer notes down on paper, just a few. And in two more takes, nailed the announcer part!😮😮😮. The amazing thing is, he always said," I'm not a singer, i can't really sing at all. I'm an actor. But when I'm on stage and playing a part, sometimes the characters I play, they can sing!" If u watch his videos from bat out of hell, and how he sings and petforms, u will realize jack black learned everything he knows, from Meatloaf, and even put Meatloaf in his movie, Pick of Destiny! I day this is his writer's version of Phantom of the Opera! When they began filming Rocky Horror, they auditioned tons of singers. No one could clear the diction of each word, because its a musical play. Or if they had diction, they didnt have the air control, and had too many breaks in their singing, between words ir phrases. Meatloaf comes in for the audition. The director and producers tell him the same. He listens to the hardest song played on piano , a couple times, following aling with sheet music. Then he joins the next time its played and nails it. When they are done, he looks at the director and piano player and says, ,"So whats the problem guys?". Classic Meatloaf!

OMG, you deserve a youtube award. I have watched at least a hundred of reactions to this song and you are one of the very few that GOT IT. It took some thinking but you got the meaning where most have no clue. One reactor to this song i just watched, was talking through the song and when she did stop it she went on talking about things not relating to the song and she even thought that the song was released 12 years ago when she saw when the vid was posted to youtube. I had to tell her that the song was recorded in 1979 and released in 1980 and became a #1 hit and one of the most popular Country Classic songs in Country Music to this day. I told her she failed to listen to the words that every word in this song gives hints to the meaning. I see you did listen and you got it and for that I will Subscribe to your Channel even though you reacted to this song three years ago. :)
