Приєднався 19 бер 2018
Just random. You judge.
Non-scientific test and comparison videos that may or may not be useful to everyone. Mainly test owned consumer electronics and upload irregularly.
Most HDR video before 2021 June are made in PQ/ST.2084 and HDR videos uploaded later than 2021 June are mostly HLG. All non-HLG HDR videos are graded for maximum 1000 nits unless specified. Also due to editing environment issue HDR videos uploaded before 2020 might have brighter shadow.

Я тоже начинаю присматриваться к новому Samsung GalAXY S25 ULTRA в следующем году.
finally, you're back!
Recorded in 4K120p with mcpro24fps, edited in HLG, recommended to watch in HLG compatible devices. Most slow motions are after the 02:12 mark. SDR version will come up soon.
With some color adjustments applied with mask and frame interpretation made, I'm not sure what this video should be called... This test could have been done back in August, but I was busy back there and by the time I got free time it was another long period of cloudy days. Anyway, here's my experience about Xperia 1 VI on recording with mcpro24fps: - In 30C high humidity environment, it will likely start throttling after recording 4K120p for more than 2 mins. In 25C 60%RH, it can record more than 4 mins and can keep the cycle of 2 mins recording 2 mins cooldown fairly well. - focusing still feels like hit or miss. - video quality is more or less the same as Xperia 1 V, at least for 4K120p - same to Xperia 1 V, its telelens will cause frame drop if the light condition isn't good enough and/or capture too much nosie. - for bird video recording, the extended optical zoom range is still not good enough for that, and preview latency is too much for that too. Though I suppose you don't use phone to record bird videos often. Manual video recording for factory app still not available after 5 months of its release, and Blackmagic Camera app doesn't make use of 4K120p video recording for Xperia 1 VI (as of time of writing), makes me wonder how to convince people Xperia 1 VI is good for video recording. It has hardware potential, but seriously lack of software support. With both Apple and Samsung added 4K120p recording for the main lens this year, I wonder what Sony can do to keep their Xperia customers coming back. I bet Apple and Samsung will add 4K120p for other lenses in a year or 2, and I might not preorder new Xperia next year, depending on the announcement.
From all the tests that I've seen, it appears to me that NO Detail in the shadows is gained. Additionally any points of light or bright areas bloom strongly causing Haziness, reducing the overall appearance and giving a poor result as if from a very poor lens.
2:26 wtf is wrong with the Sony one bro it cannot be that awful 💀💀💀
I like all your videos about sony xperia but, your sound in your videos very make my 👂👂👂so sick🙏🏻😭pelase add calm sound /romantic sound🙏🏻❤
but motioncam on my 1v isn't stable enough i think, I have updated it, it's just crash some time, do you use a ssd or just record internal
What app did you use for the Xperia? Videography Pro or Photo Pro's video mode (or a 3rd party app)?
HEVC will hard to denoise than ProRes because it create alot of micro-block pixel if you zoom in. And the speed of editing gonna to be harder if you kind of use alot of shot in a frame since the computer has to decode alot than Prores. But yeah, if you shot on a phone, I don't think we should expect too much and exchange too much for maybe 20% better video? And even with normal people, normal shot by phone is good enough. Log is an option but only for some cinematic shot, in other case I don't recommend it to any normal user.
Thank You! 👍👍😊
How do you convert hdr to sdr?
sony way too natural it looks soulless the BMPCC4K looks better
What's your settings? Gamut..log..etc
How to shoot in hdr using mcpro
How to shoot in hdr using mcpro?
its been 4 years..i still think Xperia 1 ii still superior than 1 iii and 1 iv in term of usage stability. those 888 chip really amusing when getting hot during pro mode image/video. some sweet moment gonna miss with out another cam
I sold my BMPCC4K after I got my 15 Pro
SONY 👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑
Iphone is too hard on blacks, making it's HDR inconsistent
Hello, does 4K 60fps and 4K 120fps work on the Mcpro24fps app on the 1 VI? (without GPU mode) On my 1 V it freezes the screen. Same with Filmic Pro.
Máy quay tốt, nhưng bối cảnh quay nhạt nhẽo và nhàm chán.
❤❤❤❤😊😊😊🎉🎉
Hi! How's the display quality compared to its predecessors is it bad or not ? Because I've read that sony downgraded it's signature 4k resolution to just 1080p does it really feel downgraded or pixel peeping ? Thanks.
I can't notice the difference from normal viewing distance. 4K is overkill for smartphone screen. The color and HDR video viewing is just as good as previous model if not better. ...Not sure if this affects VR video viewing experience using something like Cardboard viewer though, I didn't try that for years and prefer use VR headset to watch VR video instead.
Recorded in 4k but can't watch it on the device I'm holding 😂
HDR HLG is a powerful weapon of Xperia!
Very nice keep it up we are with you
So beautiful ❤️❤️
If my iPhone would look like this in terms of video, I would be VERY happy. Unfortunately it looks like a mess 😂
If you have iPhone 15 Pro or better and use Apple Log to record, you be able to make good looking video, except it is limited to 4K60p.
@@somerandomignorabletest7145 i know about that. My device is a 14+. Personally, I don’t consider shooting Log on a consumer phone a proper solution to avoid oversharpened look and to much contrast. Same applies to „ProRAW“. I have an Xperia 1 VI here for testing since yesterday. In terms of camera, it is miles ahead of what my iPhone does. Android, however, is still a weakness. Looks chaotic and visually like the product of some school guys. 😁
hmm
Unexpected and a rare sunny day with clear sky. I wasn't prepared so I only tested 120p video recording. I'd say the video quality captured by stock app is very similar to previous model, which isn't good. Don't know why Sony never try to improve recording quality while it's possible to capture better quality video with third party app, despite making upgrades for camera each year. While the ambient temperature was 29°C, it managed to record 4K120p HDR video continuously for more than 4 mins without warning message under direct sunlight with stock app. I might try this again when third party app support Xperia 1 VI or 1 VI got stock camera app pro video update, whichever comes first.
is there any upgrade compared to the previous model? me I don't see any! and then would you recommend Sony for someone really looking for a solid phone for pro videography?
@@AfazariParfait it's a difficult question. Sony does offer some camera functions that no other phone brand has, but those functions might not be important to some people. However, it's the app issue that prevents me to recommend Xperia 1 to random people; for the past models I liked the footage captured with third party apps, but not from the stock app; and now Filmic goes subscription model, mcpro24fps takes very long time to support Xperia 1 new models, Sony doesn't seem want to improve video record quality while it's totally possible, and no other third party camera app seems support 4K120p HDR video recording... The hardware itself is fine but the lack of proper software support is troublesome. If you want to take some nice videos, it's better to have a dedicated camera instead of a smartphone.
Are you able to do macro in this format?
Surprisingly, no. (By the time of writing) You can record macro video in 4K120p, but only in SDR. You can use S-Cine to bring dynamic range closer to HDR. Still doesn't make any sense why HDR is not allowed.
Thank you. Amazing footage.
Did the quality improved compared to 1 V?
I sold the 1V before buying VI, can't compare with real footage... But I think it didn't improve in terms of video quality. Other than increased zoom range... I still can't test thermal for 120p video recording yet...
There won't be sunny day for very long time, mcpro24fps doesn't support Xperia 1 VI yet, no news whether Blackmagic Camera App will support this device or not, no Pro Video Mode for stock app at launch, so I can't comment much or recommend Xperia 1 VI for now. I do notice Xperia 1 VI has much longer stand by time when not in use. While I feel like less heat generated during 120p video recording, it could be simply because there was no direct sunlight. Wonder if there ever be sunny day again...
Does sideloading the Video Pro app work?
@@pixels_per_inch Just tested it; 120p video recording seems work for ultrawide and wide lens, but the app will keep crashing if you ever try to use tele lens unless you reinstall it. Also a menu will go missing if you use the app in landscape mode.
@@somerandomignorabletest7145 Thanks! It's a shame they discontinued all the Pro apps. Wish they'd kept them with the new app.
and MotionCam app? please make a test for us ((:
By the time I published this video I already have the Xperia 1 VI more than 4 days... But I got something else working on, couldn't make this video as soon as I hoped. Also I can't believe 5 months almost past and less than 10 days are sunny days with minimal haze.
Hey, how are you doing now? Are cloudy days over?
Iphone 12 pri like far cry 6 Sony look like far cry 1. 😂😂

I think I'll go with the vivo x100 pro, it's always ideal for low light
This video is unwatchable
Why do people say that iphone has the best video quality?
3lens? 60fps raw?
Hi. Oh, I'm so glad there's somebody out there with an Xperia 1 V and using a good third party app. To my understanding, no frames are lost when shooting in 4K, even up to 60 fps, no matter for how long. That's good. But what about on non-Sony apps like mcpro24fps? If I want to record 4K video, CONTINUOUSLY, in up to 60 fps (or at the very least 24 fps?) will I lose frames? And what about variables, on top of that, such as if I choose to record 10-bit? If I want to record in HDR?
Good afternoon, I am also a photographer and videographer. Say please? Which is better for photos and videos: SONY XPERIA PRO-I or the new SONY XPERIA 1V, 5V models, please advise, tell me which one to take? Thank you very much in advance!
Awesome work 💯💯💯👏👏👏 What's the song?
