Thanks for honoring free speech There shouldn't be any doubt that Jordan gets a real high out of preaching his Protestant religion as being worthy of the utmost respect. If I offend God He will break his bond with me And I will suffer for eternity Some say that I will burn in hell Such stories theologians tell But if for mercy I beg and cry To the God up in the sky Heaven will be mine they say "Oh what childish games they play" June VanDerMark January 1st, 2013

Great insights! Discipline and consistency do need to be linked to pleasure for us to keep going. I’ve found that visualizing rewards, like finishing a project or mastering a new skill, helps push me through the tough days. It's like how humor can turn a challenging social situation into something more enjoyable. I even signed up for the Sense of Humor Improvement Program by Habit10x, and it’s helped me see that small rewards-like a good laugh-are just as motivating as bigger achievements. Stay focused on the payoff, and the grind won’t feel as heavy!

When it comes to real change, there’s no shortcut or life hack-it's just consistent action. Success isn't in quick fixes; it's in the grit, in the "suck." Facing your limits, day in and day out, helps you find who you are. Most people feel like they're missing something because they haven’t faced the discomfort that brings growth. Want that extra push? The Sense of Humor Improvement Program by Habit10x has tools to help strengthen your inner will and go after what truly matters.

Peter Attila, you are doing the great work. Keep it up! Carl Jung said, “Life doesn’t begin until age forty. Until then it is all research.” This is down to the role of suffering in human life. As we take them, the rules dictate suffering must cure a conscience. One must learn to look past oneself. That requires learning about pain, so we can stop inflicting it on others before also learning to go easy on ourselves. What makes the going-easy part of life difficult is baggage we carry from our parents. As children, we learned to respond poorly to terroristic threats - a normal reaction to abnormal love conditions - and we continue to do so today. All the while, none of us can see it. Jung’s shadow work fixes this problem. It is more a cultural dis-ease, but whatever. “Look at your life. Look at your choices!” Love isn’t what we were taught, not practically. This obscures the reality of the need for both individual and social change. Societies only change after individuals do. Cultures follow in their due time. We can only learn the need for social change through the recognition of how suffering is used at the level of the individual. This is because we all do it and refuses to admit it. Well, we cannot remain children forever! We only learn by watching. Full stop. A mind grown openly over time develops the habit of asking itself, “What would it take for me to better understand or even accept what I am hearing right now?” This does not mean we must accept what we hear. It only proves we were willing to try. This is the first step in learning to forgive/accept, which are the same thing entirely. We admit others are sovereign in ways our parents never taught, but that we knew perfectly well the entire time. Then we learn to apply new standards from a place beyond emotion, because it was mommie who did it and now we don’t even know how to be loving, not really, not fully or even in practice. This is the hard part; the practice. You don’t know what you don’t know until you try. How did you know you could ride a bike? It happened right after you did it. Learn to love by listening openly to the neighbors around you. Stay out of your emotions. Why not, that person is just a neighbor?! Then learn to apply what you learn listening to your neighbor, that same sense of emotional sobriety, and learn to behave that same way before your spouse. S/he will follow in due time. It starts in an open mind. It ends when competition does. Score keeping prolongs the game. Stop keeping score. If s/he is just a neighbor, then what is there to get so worked up over? How one responds to this question controls the quality of One’s presence in life going forward. In other words, an open mind precludes my urge to prevaricate. These things are directly related in a one-to-one fashion. An open mind, “why don’t I believe her/him?” That is the key. Start there. You are learning not to judge others, only yourself very gently. Judgment is to regulate person conduct and no other reason. We are allowed to question the physical world that way, but never our own people. You may judge yourself relative to yourself yesterday and you may be gentle doing it. If you cannot follow those rules, then judgment is clearly not your strong suit and you ought to stop until you grow up some. Handle your parental baggage or do not judge. It isn’t worth it at all, not even a little bit. This is a rule and I did not write it. Do not shoot the messenger, please. You may not lie in love. The price is too high, so stop it now! Love is truth. To be open is honest. To ask Oneself that mind opening question is the only practical path to hero status in existence. Use it well! “What would it take for me to shut up and just listen to her?!” Eh, Michael? What’s that you say? You don’t want to now?! Get up and get back to work, son.
