Finally hitting a HUGE sand double….🚀
Переглядів 1,8 тис.3 місяці тому
This double was on my radar and I finally pulled the trigger! 2nd gear around the turn, then shift third and hold it wide open on a 450! Thankfully I made it right to the landing 😎 Follow me on Instagram: @tristanlanemx Support my racing and grab a t-shirt & hoodie: thetristanlane.com

120 ft. natural terrain jump in California!
Переглядів 2,4 тис.3 місяці тому
I love riding tracks, but some of the best times I’ve had on a bike are riding natural terrain jumps in the middle of nowhere! This jump was the definition of a “floater”. 🙌🏼
How fast do you have to go to jump a Supercross Triple!?
Переглядів 24 тис.3 місяці тому
I have always wondered the speed it takes to jump a triple. Now I know! 30 MPH will get you there in this scenario. 😎

Typically on the “off” week in the Supercross schedule I will relax and try to recharge my batteries for the final 5 races. This week I figured I would ride but focus more on having fun and getting some content for you guys! I hope you enjoy this, let me know if I should do more GoPro style videos 😎 Thanks for watching! 3rd?
2nd gear! Believe it or not, I’m in 2nd around the entire track minus the whoops (3rd or 4th).
Freakin massive heuvos.
Nice whip 👍🏼
Thanks! 😎
what bike are you on
2023 KTM 450sx-f 🤘🏼
Not that fast.
imagine casually throwing down like this, what a fucking beast
🙏🏼👊🏼
It’s honestly just all about commitment rather than going really fast, at least how I see it, cause those jumps are scary 😭
Committing is key! Truthfully, the triples and finish line jumps are the easiest part of the track. Once you know the feelings and speed to hit them it’s second nature!
It looks more like the whip that gets you there. Is that a SX triple?
Yes it is.
- the whip probably 28
your title asks a question that you really dont answer, so i have to call it click bait
The GPS telemetry answers the question in the title! *30 mph 😉🫡
Nice rythm! Next..

So how do riders know how fast to hit a jump without knowing their speed in real time. Is it just feel? Or gear
Usually I can tell how fast to go by years of repetition, most of the jumps are standardized and consistently the same length at the races/practice tracks. Obviously there are many times when they are different and in that situation I just rely on muscle memory! Believe it or not, the jumping is usually the easiest part of riding/racing. Cornering takes the most skills.
Damm nice jump
Thank you!
😪 Promo`SM
quit showing of lmao
I just can’t help it 😂
@@TristanLaneMX honestly i would do the EXACT same 🤣🤣
Are you coming to pax again if they have another money race my brother was the one you signed the blue leg cast right after you got back from a moto
Rippin💪🏼
Thanks man!
Looking smooth
Thank you! 👊🏼😎
Awesome track! Love this video
Thanks so much!
30 with a scrub
Good point. But I’d say this is more of a whip than a scrub. This particular jump would be tough to scrub off of because of how big it is and being right out of the corner. 🤙🏼 If I can get my corner speed faster maybe I can try to scrub it and see how fast that would be 👀
Thats the old bithlo right? I rode there in 08 when i was going to MMI i jumped there table to table they had back then right before the finish turn
Yes! This is from 2022 I believe. They have made some big jumps at that track from time to time, I remember the table table! 🤙🏼😎
@@TristanLaneMX I'm from Texas our tracks are not anywhere near they sandy. We have sandy places just not really moto. I remember thet table to table was everything my 250f had. Idk if you know Mitch gerwin "turbo speed" and Austin Edwards they ride but we all started MMI at the same time. And rode all the tracks together.
@@Leland387 I know Austin! And true that, the sand makes it really tough to get over the obstacles. Believe it or not, Orlando is solid clay now! Actually one of our only hard pack tracks now.
@@TristanLaneMX that's badass. My profile pic here is me and debo at the Oakland sx back in 2012. But yeah Austin is pretty cool alot bigger fella when he was in school. But Mitch owns turbo speed running he does the suspension for Jeff Walker. Him and Austin was real close. If you see him tell him Leland said what's up he will remember me. I was about his speed. He was there the day I did the table table.
@@TristanLaneMX sorry for the long message just cool you know somone I do. And all because UA-cam lol.
Good job.
Thank you!
i miss 2021 orlando, now its concrete
You and I both 🥹
Yep. No more sand n big berms
You are a superstar
Definitely not! But I’m obsessed with dirtbikes for whatever that is worth 😁😂
bro is this ww ranch im at the aq rn
Yes it is!
You da goat
70ft? Whats the whoop spacing peak to peak?
Typically 13-15 feet apart!
And yes the triples range from 65-75 feet usually
Natural terrain is alwasy the most fun. No way in hell I can do this on a dirtbike, but I feel the same about snowboarding. Groomers and parks are fun, but the best times are bombing cliffs and weaving through the trees
Congratulations on being the first and only comment in 1 month
@@gamerbacon11 im 3rd then
@@exilb congratulations on being the 3rd comment in 3 days
Gonna ride dirt one day. Looks like a lot of fun!
You won’t regret it! I will have to try the street out sometime 😎🤙🏼
Good 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍
Thank you 👍
2nd gear for most of yuns wondering. You can do it in first but it revs way out 😂
1st gear could get real interesting 😂😂
@@TristanLaneMXI hit my Fmx ramp in 1st once and I thought my life was over 😂
I hit a triple in first once and was like wtf my bike is broken!?!? Why is it revving so high then when I went to downshift I had a big OooOoOoOo moment and was like damn 1st gear has a lot more room than I thought 😂
The GPS only tracks horizontal speed so you're probably going a little faster than 30mph. Very interesting though.
No, he was going 30 over it.
the speed gauge is off, no way he was going 15mph around the corner
@@CR250rSMITHno they’re not, go pros make everything look slower and smaller
They can and I expect do show you real speed not only horizontal, they need 3D fix to tell you where you are (4 for confidence) so they can & do tell you altitude, and can easily tell you vertical speed (I think it'd be an extra operation to tell you only horizontal anyway i.e. why bother).
I guessed 36mph. I was 20% off.
Nice! It feels so slow when you’re coming out of the corner, I would have guessed more like 20 mph due to the short run up we get. The 450’s are so fast with lots of torque, pretty wild! Thanks for watching 🤙🏼
lol, you would have landed in the corner casing the berm.
I guessed 33.3, so I'm much better than you. 😆
Sand cross or Supercross?
Very cool
Thank you!
I was wondering how guys get paid that aren’t “factory riders” do the top 20 guys make money, or does money come from sponsor. I’ve always been curious how privateers and the guys that don’t have full factory rides get paid to race. Can you maybe talk about it.
That is a great question! Our sport is confusing in that sense compared to other sports. I’m simplifying this, but most privateer racers don’t earn a salary and have to earn their money by racing and sponsorships/ contingency programs. For example, if you have a pro license and sign up to race a supercross you have to qualify top 40 out of whoever signs up (usually around 60 riders total) to earn a paycheck and get to race in the night show. So even if you place dead last in the heat race and LCQ you would be paid but not as much as making the main event. If you are in the main event you can earn manufacture contingency on top of the base pay for your finishing position in the race. To help supplement my income I have per-round sponsorship opportunities for businesses and people with helmet wraps, bike graphics, etc. as well as selling t-shirts and hoodies to help with expenses. Like most professions, you always want more money but I’m very grateful to earn a living off my dirtbike. I hope that helps! Thanks for watching.
Once done shooting you need to take out the mag and make sure the chamber is clear. I'd also recommend proper footwear too.
That is fast!!!
Nice 👌 are they open as a public track anymore? I haven’t seen much from them since they did the MXoN
It is now a training facility! They do open up to the public for ride days periodically. Thanks for watching! 😎
Dude you just got a new fan, the quality is awesome and your riding is just so cool to watch!
Thank you! I really appreciate that 🙏🏼😎
Who is this guy? He’s badass! lol see you soon🤙🏼
Hahaha the production of this video is far inferior to the last video put out, I need you back! 😅
So fun 😎🙌🏼
