They probably reduced the number of enemies to balance out Smasher with mental stability

Tbh this was an issue with witcher as well, tho mostly with certain dlc bosses and not main bosses. Like geralt could probably fight god by the end of that game

Blud the boss fight doesn't take even 10 minutes, i didn't feel such difficulty

the perk tree is dumb. some of the perks are too op. and beyond lvl 30, the normal goons are just dumb and too easy, even in very hard. then they ramp up the bosses without touching the other enemies. the only thing that redeems it is playing in very hard, but that just makes the enemies bullet spongey and deal more damage, but still a dumb mindless bot,.

It's actually very accurate to the lore with how massively chromed out smasher is. It's not bad game design, it's just accurate. You cannot complain about the FINAL big baddie of a video game, on very hard difficulty is actually challenging. Barely even 1% of the citizens in night city are rocking the same amount of chrome Smasher is, and if they are they're cyberpsychos, heavily medicated, or both. Smasher is 98% chrome. Fitted with top of the line armor, subdermal armor, medical implants, ICE, and top of the line combat implants. He's not the same as the 90% of bosses. You're literally fighting a bullet sponge, that's his job. To be a giant metal roadblock, night city's own boogieman. He's meant to be tanky, that's his entire design.

Smasher was not "op." Before the update, his fight was laughably easy, even on very hard. Nearly any playstyle could've walked right through him. After the update he was still beatable, but at least he actually inherited a unique moveset that made you think tactically about your decisions in the fight. If you thought this was hard, try playing Sekiro, Bloodborne, or Nioh lmao 😂

​​@@EKPBa bit of both? The boss himself is *much* stronger now as a baseline and upping the difficulty makes him tankier and has him deal way more damage. But I've seen OP builds still able to take him down somewhat easily, but that's standard fare for RPGs
