My first encounter with yellow-bellied sapsuckers. To me, it looks like they're both females, since neither has red on the throat. This was around the Clayton Hill area. Recorded at 1/5 speed slow motion.

Bunny nursing in my garden in Pittsburgh
Переглядів 930Рік тому
I didn't think rabbits liked tomato plants, but wasn't taking chances and was about to shoo it away, but then I noticed something going on underneath. *6* little bunnies underneath! The smartphone came out! I'd have liked to get closer, more detailed shot, with a better angle, but wildlife needs to be given their space, especially during these moments.
Spider captures spotted lantern fly

A triangulate cobweb spider wrapping up a spotted lanternfly nymph. This was filmed in my backyard in Pittsburgh, and the music is by a very personable and talented local death metal band, Dematus. I figure this video should be very satisfying to fellow gardeners!

Can't wait!
I thought they were the 6-legged kind from the thumbnail, Scott. I really enjoyed watching them. Bit of a headache now, though. They must have some serious skull padding! 😅
Love Pileated woodpeckers! hoping to attrack some to my feeders this year! great video keep up the good work.
I love them too! Except the one who landed on our prized sycamore tree. That one's trouble! :)
What a fantastic video of an incredible animal of the wild!!! It gives bird watchers a front-row seat. It's so amusing and amazing how Mother Nature provides various creatures the ability to strive and survive in challenging conditions. I assume that the power of their vibrations (resounding noise) discourages attacks from surrounding birds of prey...thankfully.
Thank you so much Syd! And I agree, the pecking probably makes birds of prey think twice. I think the pileated woodpecker isn't a small bird, so probably only the ambitious ones will go for them, along with maybe raccoons. They're also quite capable in zipping away from danger, or photographers trying to get a picture. I guess this couple realized I was trying to do right by them and decided to give me a shot.
This is what this country is doing to us. So sad.
I'm glad I'm not Patrick
Editing is top notch. I appreciate it, Scott.

Hope you enjoyed the film! I've been keeping it up since. Next one is called "Senior Software Engineer", mixing in my computer side.
@@sneakyghostfilms I did. I'll be on the lookout for the next one.
its tongue is funny
I think it is so cute your lucky!!⚘💯💯💯💯💯
After she high-tails it out of there, one of them zips after her but the rest stay. I guess the one that zipped put it together that you were what she was running from, while the others were still open minded about lumbering giants with strange technologies. I think you might have made a couple friends there.
Actually, there were 6 total, and about 4 of them zipped away by the end of this video. A bit out of frame though. But yes, they all had their own personalities.
Great job, by both the spider and Scott!
Weird!!!
Mesmerizing...in a creepy way!
No captions? 😢
There are no words for this one! Just a bunch of chirping! But I just posted my film Medical Divorce, and that has captions! Even in Russian too, for my wife's family :). ua-cam.com/video/qfB6WuUrZK8/v-deo.html
The last line is something I would say.
love it!
Nice work scott
Love it!
...... Gulp !
Wow. This gives me a headache
RIP tree
I later saw a pileated pecking away at our favorite sycamore tree in our backyard. I didn't want to frighten the bird, but instead decided, well, if it's not going away, I can take out the camera again. Sure enough, it flew off just as I got it set up on a tripod. My conclusion... The tree might get an infection or something from the wound, but it'll probably be fine. And if the bird stays, at least you can get some nice footage of a pileated woodpecker?
He's a lumberjack.
벌레 잡아먹나 보네
Hey Scott, great job on this. If you ever shoot anything in LA/Orange County area, I would love to help you out completely free. I'm just fascinated with filmmaking. Thank you. Danny Milea
Hitting so hard and no concussion . Amazing nature
Wow 1 of my favorite birds in a park I've been to a few times 👍 Great video coverage also ! Every time I try to get a good pic or video of them ... Poof they fly away !
Certainly, my first close-up encounter was how you described. The pileated was practically backstroking over the trail at eye level; raise the camera and it's gone. I think it's different when you're lucky enough to find them when they have a little construction project underway.
Nice collection of your work, Scott!
Verily comprehensive and well edited reel. I was looking for Sunflowers In The Darkness... did I miss it?
I loved the way Sunflowers in Darkness turned out, but 48 hour film projects are limited in what can be achieved, in terms of cinematography/production design/post production, which definitely gets showcased in this reel. The films included all involved work that took months and some over a year.
@@sneakyghostfilms Thanks for clarifying this, Scott. Knew there'd be a reason. Fingers crossed for some great breaks in the New Year! 😊
That looks great, Scott. (great scott!)
A piognant expression of a haeart-rending message. Your ability to share a message with such sensitivity and without preaching: have respectfully shared....
Thank you so much! And yes, throughout this production, I never felt like I was preaching, but just expressing. I don’t know what the solution is, if there is one.
It's lovely
