Great looking , one of my favourites for the allies along with the fire fly Sherman
If period correct, Rolls-Royce Meteor (shortened Merlin).
Awesome to see one of these tanks moving about still
into the Hewes yard.
Hi there. I know this might be a long shot, but I don't suppose this Dingo might be for sale ? I'm a British reenactor from Belgium, and would be very interested in one ! Thanks in advance.
Sounds a lot more guttural than the Merlin, like it's pissed off to be alive.
Cool !
thanks for the videos wonderful bit of kit
impressed
What engine is it on?
This is a Cromwell so has the Meteor engine.
WHAT A BEAUTY!!!

British moment 🇬🇧
Beautiful 😎
All's well that Crom's well.
Amazing sounds...
Nice 180 turn! Couldn't do that in a Panther!
According to Soviet tests you could, but only when the ground resistance on both tracks were the same.
Well...we know what the inside looks like.
Top job looks great
Awesome
Good to see one workinjg.
😛😛❤👍👍👍👍
Is it Centaur or Cromwell?
The liberty sounds well
A27 L (Liberty engine, so a Centaur, but have Cromwell in title so people can find it, most don't know about the Centaur).
It sounds like the engine is trying to start up but never manages it fully

How dare you put American stickers on a British historical vehicle
To be honest I don't know why I need a Bren gun carrier, but I do know I want one, and give me a couple of hours I can absolutely tell you why I need one. And mount a ma deuce in the bed and a 7.62 or a auto grenade launcher in the front. And it would make a great carrier for a 90 mm recoilest rifle. Wait I think I've come up with a ideal weapon for airborne operations. And I've got a few more ideas for it to.
you never see these things in war firms, should do
There is one in the Longest Day. Its in a beach scene and it stalls
@@longstreet0163 I think I remember that :),
Thanks. I was wondering. It looks from your perspective views that a half squad of armored infantry could manage to cram into a Carrier with most of its gear. Pintle mounted Bren would naturally reduce crew to three-four maximum. Steering by flexing the tracks is an idea Walter Christie pursued to distraction. In the Carrier, it works. The USA produced a larger vehicle, the T16 Carrier, with two full horst suspension bogies. The Australian Carrier variants, particularly the 2pdr and 3" mortar variants*, showed that necessity in the mother of innovation. *These were slightly more practical than their British counterparts by some standards. The Australian 2pdr version had 360 degree traverse and the 3" mortar version could fire from the vehicle instead of needing to dismount the mortar before firing. The wisdom of using a Carrier like an armored assault vehicle is perhaps questionable. But needs must when the Devil calls, and all that.
take the yank star of it....
I've wondered why the U.S. Army didn't adopt the bren carriers. I thought it was because they had jeeps. And armored tracked version that could probably carry more than a jeep, but never saw a explanation as to why the U.S. never used them as far as I know.
Probabaly just a matter of logistical concerns and because they already had the M3 half track
Looks absolutely brand new 😀 fab little vehicle that even impressed the Germans with its performance. K
It had the best and simplest steering system on tracks, the steering wheel just moved the front bogie left or right which bent the tracks so the vehicle turned left or right. No need for any differential or sluice braking. Brilliant idea and very fast.
The ones used for towing always had them from the beginning, for pulling AT guns
Great piece of history, thank for restoring it. Lest we forget.
Would love to own one to mess around in the swamp or the beach.
Bad camera
Love the way the steering wheel is used to aim the gun.
The last time I saw a universal carrier a.k.a. bren carrier was of all places the Australian war memorial and museum in Canberra Australia even though small I was quite impressed. widely used particularly in Northwest Europe 1944/5
The single most produced armoured tracked vehicle of WW2.
Drive this against the russians theyll think its an out of space project maybe surrender.
My Father was an anti-tank gun commander this was his type of vehicle used to tow the gun I think I see a red lion unit badge have you any knowledge of its history? Dad was in The Argyles and took the gun all the way to the Rhine crossings
If you are on FB, there is a lot if information on 15th Scottish, this was not a 15th Scottish carrier, it was used in reenactments by 15th Scottish Recce.
@@lssah2025 I am and i shall thanks for the tip!
I think you mean Argylls not Argyles
Olive green is the original . This is more like " parrot " green
Yes the paint we received was crap. They matched it wrong She was repainted correctly later
Dang I was hoping to see you drop the hammer on the accelerator 😂
Pretty sure that’s the wrong colour ??? I could be wrong tho
Yes color was wrong, the paint that was matched they did it wrong, so after she came out it was this...
This was the color they put on them when they were hunting Tiger tanks. They would replace the bren gun with a boyes anti tank rifle and give it a new paint job to confuse the Germans into a lethally complacent torpor.
My Uncle was in Carriers and coincidentally the 15th Lowland Division. He maintained his Carrier did not have a tow Bar. There were fitted later in the War and some Carrier never got theirs.
Just what I need for the ASDA run. Lovely stuff. 👍

si pudiera suscribirse al canal en caso que le interese , Thank
not the green I remember.
They mixed the wrong color, it was repainted later.
It still amazes me that they put the V8 engine in the middle of the “Truck Bed.”
Sorry to be so offtopic but does someone know a trick to get back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly lost my password. I love any help you can give me!
