Fix that injector if you dont want to damage the cylinder . The proper way is to bleed fuel system with ISTA.
Where abouts is this 1 located ?
Under the inlet manifold windscreen side near the bulk head.
Excellent video, there is very little info on this online. I dont suppose you know if you have any leaks on the lines to the mounts could this cause vacuum issues to the rest of the system? Eg turbo actuation ?
I couldn't say for sure but as its a sealed system, i'd say yes.
good video, but a couple of questions. Does this car have a DPF, if so did you have to remove that first?
Car has no DPF and yes it will need removing or you can remove it, smash out the insides and refit.
Has the gearbox broken?

I've not measured but i think its around 6inch and yes stainless steel.
I did have a sharp intake of breath when you jacked up the engine using the oil pan. That always worried me, but fair play, you got the job done. I assume that the passenger side was easier?
Yeh i guess its risky but its only lifting the engine and not the whole car and the sump is not made of wafer :) done it a few times no damage.

Sump off and then pushing the piston up and out from the bottom.

thats probably because the egr is deleted.
Hi mate, thnx for the clear explanation. Does your 525d have an electronic turbo actuator or a vacuum controlled one? Does this code also occure with the electronic actuator even though it does not control the turbo by vacuum?
Mines electric and the code returned, so i cleaned the turbo with mr muscle via the downpipe and now no code totally gone and better performance so it may have also been a coked up turbo, video response coming soon.
@@bavarianmotorwerks3353 right. Thnx. Mine is also electric. Wanted to clean the turbo also but I have to inject Mr muscle via the exhaust manifold as I don't have a downpipe. How long did you let Mr muscle sit and did you inject it once or multiple times?
@@oualla74 downpipe basically means the cat pipe or dpf pipe off the turbo and then inject it into the turbo leave it 30mins then drive.

Yeh it is daft but they do it for a reason so that non mechanic minded people take it to the dealer so they can make $$$$

How long take u do this mate ?
To do the rebuild, well this was my first time ever rebuilding an engine, lots of research, took absolutely everything out until it was a bare block, labelled all the bolts up in seperate envelopes, cleaned absolutely everything all the parts until they were spotless. just left it over winter so a good 6 months, making sure everything was perfect. working well as you can see in the latest video.

You can also remove the whole key and the car still runs, when i say whole key even the transponder What you should do is start the car, then switch off remove the key and then press start the car again, then the car starts without the key, then open your door and then lock the car

My man, I've got an even better tip for you. I tested it myself on my E92 330d and e81: You close your door and start your engine, then stop the engine again. You remove the key normally, and within a certain amount of time you will be able to start your car again without any key. You will be able to do it as long as the driver door is kept shut. Test it out, it should work on e60 too. Makes locking the running car from the outside even easier.
that is cool, but it has a very big problem and it is that you dont want 2 cold starts in a row. Thats why this option is much more practical

Was the design of this altered with LCI models (post 2007). I have an LCI 530i and looks different to this when I checked for any moisture…
mmm that i could not answer. mines diesel and yours petrol i presume so i'd gather it will be different.

Diesel ? if petrol maybe a different layout.
