Very good video.I think you’ll be successful
Thank you, that means a lot and appreciate you watching!
Why do you think SO many of us feel behind in life?
Great Vid Amaan.
Thank you Shehreyar, means a lot and hopefully you get the chance to skydive one day!
Nice video bro!! Im definitely going to do sky diving at some point in my life.
@@AjayKumar-dw8wf thank you bro, appreciate it! Definitely worth doing
I didn't know the name of this technique but it was something I did- perhaps someone told me about it. Such a good technique.
@@ashleemcin8445 such an underrated technique and is great to start with!
Crazy! It's so true, I find it so hard to finish books now despite doing a English Lit degree. Screentime?
@@ashleemcin8445 cutting down screen time does help but it depends what you’re doing on it. Screen time in itself isn’t a ‘bad thing’ unless you’re just distracting yourself. I can relate to that feeling as well, feel like you have to start learning how to read properly again!
Makes me wanna do a skydive now.
@@ashleemcin8445 absolutely you should, would 100% recommend it.

Pomodoro worksa great for me too, you even use the same one as me! I recommend even throwing in some Freedom app website and app exclusions to really force the point if you find yourself slacking off still.
I’ve got a new device I’ve been using to help with this (stay tuned!). I use my work laptop mostly and since Freedom doesn’t work on there, I don’t use it much. Very good suggestions though for others to try out.
Always appreciate your videos. Always find them relatable ❤
Thank you! Appreciate you watching and finding something out of them.
This was a great video. I really liked the format of this one a lot. Its probably a decent idea do a brain dump before doing the gratitude prompts as well. Get things off your chest now that you've slept on it and have some distance, or just to remove any underlying stress about things coming up, and end it with gratitude in order to set yourself off on a good note.
Thank you so much, good to see you back! That order makes sense as well and definitely worth trying out :).

the thumbnail is good
Thank you, means a lot!
Do you guys think that failure ACTUALLY leads to growth? Keen to hear your thoughts…
How many times would you fail to succeed?
I don't journal often but when I do I go hard and it takes a while. Its usually a solid way of emptying my head and organizing the thoughts and philosophical musings I've had rattling around. It is also good for externalizing troubling feelings and behaviors to troubleshoot them and get clarity. I don't do gratitude journaling, but I do think often about things I'm grateful for, its annoying to me that it is as powerful as it is, because its so simple.
That’s right bro, sometimes the most simple things can be the most effective. I also didn’t think it’d be as effective as it was but 2 years later and I’m still using gratitude in my life.

Mental fitness or mental health?
You seemed more to be discussing general lack of self confidence in this episode rather than imposter syndrome which specifically refers to feeling like you don't deserve the praise or promotion you're receiving for your traits or accomplishments and feeling like you don't deserve that success. Its still low self-confidence but its a kind of a different situation where it pops up. Maybe I'm, misreading it? Great thumbnail though and your audio seems better lately too?
I understand your point completely and I could have made it clearer. Imo, imposter syndrome feelings go alongside a lack of self confidence since you’re always having to prove to yourself that you deserve that praise. I do see though that my points could be mistaken for the general lack of self confidence angle so I’ll work on that clarity next video. Thanks for the praise again bro.
Funny enough, I had audio issues in this video which wasn’t great!
@@amaan-aaa-786 Haha! Well I sure didn't notice anything so you obviously managed to film and edit around it well enough! You're doing good work, and I'm enjoying your videos.
@@guythegoth139 thank you, it means a lot!
Why do you think we suffer from imposter syndrome?
Let me know below if you think Self-Improvement is worth it?
Cmon Amaan!!
Thank you Skippa!!!
Still killing it mate. Are you batching these or are you filming one at a time? How long are they taking you to film and edit?
Thanks mate, really appreciate it! Now, I batch record my videos for the upcoming month. Often takes 20 mins per video to record. Editing varies from 3-7 hours (still a beginner editor) per video (including remixing the newer ones into Shorts).
@@amaan-aaa-786 that's a pretty quick turn around on the filming I must admit! I've experimented a couple of times and it has taken me foreeeever to film a quick video, without even editing it. Geez those editing times are a killer though!
@@guythegoth139 They are a killer, making sure everything is synced perfectly. The more you practice, the quicker it gets but it's still a long process.
Not everybody can action what has been promoted , not because its not right but thr other person is not able to recieve ..
It’s down to many things, a lot of the time though we rely on willpower which is difficult.
I am so aware i skipped this video
Fair play, good on you
The simple act of noticing mental processes is so powerful. In my newsletter (related to my band) I write a short section on my thoughts on mental and physical health etc. One of the things I wrote about on there was psychiatrists telling me to "just notice when my mind is running a negative story" and I always thought that was bullshit. But later on, when I was ready, I started to notice and recognize the negative narratives, and sure enough I actually QUICKLY learned to stop running those narratives almost completely. It wasn't even really a conscious choice, its just liked once I started noticing I'd naturally think "oh that's happening again" and because it wasn't enjoyable it would stop. I imagine its much the same effect when you just notice that you're automatically leaning on social media to mask a feeling, just simply the act of noticing it will reprogram the behavior. Great work again mate! As to the greyscale, nope. I haven't used it. It seemed like it was solving a problem that wasn't the core of the issue so I didn't bother trying. The dopamine hits don't come from the colours, they come from the slot-machine chance to see something cool that plays out before the cool thing can even be seen. Its basically gambling programming.
Thanks for sharing that story! Noticing behaviours is a small but powerful step. Yeah, spot on. It seems to mask a deeper issue and until we address THAT, it won't make a big enough difference. FOMO plays a big role in the 'slot machine'. Defo recommend watching 'The Social Dilemma' if you haven't already.
@@amaan-aaa-786 and fomo comes from a scarcity mindset. You're not scared of missing out if you don't feel like you're fundamentally lacking something. I'll check that out!
What's your experience with Greyscale? Do you think it's worth it?
Success is just you standing on top of a giant pile of failures. Gotta learn how to climb, hope you're not scared of heights!
Exactly! Build that ladder to success one failure at a time. Once you look down, you realise how far you've come...
@@amaan-aaa-786 that's it! (And I totally just turned that comment into lyrics haha). Great thumbnail btw!
@@guythegoth139 Makes for some good lyrics 🤷♂. Appreciate your positivity!
This was helpfull I always struggled with this. Thanks !!
Glad it helped!
Great job getting your videos out mate. You're doing well. I don't think this one was quite as strong moving from the distinctions between motivation and discipline (or their definitions) and the link with habits - the link is obviously there, it just perhaps isn't stated as clearly as it could be. Also, addressing your question at the end of the video imo the main differences between motivation and discipline are that motivation is kind of a 'dreamer' mode. Its an ignited state of being but its not usually an active state of being. Motivation (for me) is good for laying down plans, or getting me to open a program in order to get started, but not good for actually executing any plans or ideas at all. I clumsily start writing songs with motivation, but I only finish them with discipline. I created a whole bunch of frameworks and notes and prompts for learning to write both fiction and advertising copy using motivation, but its only the discipline that has me actually writing anything.
Thanks mate, appreciate all of your comments. I'll work on transitioning between points a bit clearer, I'm sure that'll come with time and experience. You gave a perfect example of how motivation gives you a start but only that, 'ignited state of being' is pretty accurate there. With discipline comes sustained progress.
@@amaan-aaa-786 that's it mate! I'm enjoying your videos. You're basically doing what I'd like to be doing if it made sense for my desired outcome so it's really cool to see you coming up. I still think it might be a good idea for me to be doing it anyway actually. I've just been focused on learning other skills - copywriting, fiction and music.
@@guythegoth139 rest assured it's never too late to start once you get the opportunity to do so. Got a lot on your plate but happy to see you're moving positively forward!
Spending time with silence is a profound way of decluttering your mind, meditation is super important for that I find. The same with walking without music or podcasts, both of which also have their place. And the same goes for tackling tasks. I actually find it much easier to find flow when i don't even have music on to groove to, even if it's less enjoyable, it's far more impressive.
Completely agree with you! I still find it hard to not listen to music or podcasts when I'm trying to do deep work but when I work in silence, it makes a massive difference.
One of the ways I noticed it was by making music. You can't listen to music when you're making music haha. That take-away was gold for other aspects of my life!@@amaan-aaa-786
@@guythegoth139 😂😂 lesson learnt
I've never really thought to list out my core values. I guess that would be a big step in understanding myself and defining a direction.
I'd say it's a key step in finding clarity and can help you find your purpose too. Use the list of values in the description to help you discover what resonates with you!
It can be really difficult to reach people with this message because it seems so trivial, but actively noticing when a negative self assessment or pattern of thought occurs to you really is the most important first step. Even just noticing it and recognizing that it is what it is, without judging it, is powerful. Later on you get so good at seeing the thoughts for what they are that they just stop trying.
I completely get the 'trivial' aspect of this message, I grew up thinking that too. However, the last 2-3 years I've realised how important it is to be self-aware of any self-negativity. Sometimes we forget that even just a small step like noticing these patterns of thought is an important one.
Saw your comment under a Dan Koe post just now. I'm going to follow your journey. Still trying to figure out which direction to start down for myself. Good luck! And well spoken, off to a good start.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! Dan Koe's content is one of the reasons I started this channel, I hope that my videos will help you find your direction.
