I accidentally hit a button on my camera, so the first min or two I look semi-blurry, but it’s fine after that I’m taking a break for a bit after this one goes up, probably a couple, maybe three weeks (we’ll see). Last year (2024), I put out 56 videos; the total video count from 2021, 2022, and 2023 was 52, so I more than doubled my total video count, which is awesome Hoping to hit 50 videos ag...

This is a series of late night ramblings, the kind of thing that pops into your head at midnight when you’re laying in bed and trying to sleep; hence, it has a somewhat slower and more laid back vibe than some other stuff I’ve done. (Also, I think this is the last video I have from before I got a haircut six or eight weeks ago.) I didn’t upload anything last week because honestly I’m just tired...

Four of the last nine uploads I’ve done have been on books, which is kinda wild. I’m enjoying it though. Having a good time reading and all. Currently going through The Plague by Camus. About ⅓ of the way through and it’s great. With that being said, though, I might make some game videos sooner than later. I’ve been replaying a few that I want to talk about. Capcom was something else pre-RE7. L...

Cureathon 2024 continues! The Cure videos cannot be stopped, only postponed… Of all the Cure albums I’ve been listening to lately, I think my appreciation has grown more for this record than any other. It’s honestly really, really good Forget to talk about the b-sides, so I wanted to mention “To The Sky” is a beautiful, gorgeous, dreamlike track, phenomenal. I do wish I’d spent more time talkin...

The normal sounding ones are Arbiter, all the weirdest ones are Arnie.
Arbiter, Arnold was overrated in his prime, there were better ones.
honestly i think you could slow some of Arnolds screams down and it would sound the same. arbiter is just deeper voiced.
Both are like:😩
We need more good UA-cam videos like this.
3 was definitely the exception, it was both realistic and batshit insane. No moments for comedy or any comic relief just gore and an absolute disturbing story and they honestly knocked it out of the park if you ask me
Never played Halo, but I sure as hell know what Arnie sounds like

You sir, are a genius
pretty easy, but i have minimal regrets on listening to half a minute worth of funny noises.
This is the content we need on all platforms for 2025 forward.
Man wtf XD
You make this too easy, especially since I’ve been playing halo for decades.
That last one, oh, that last one, that’s Arnie 🤌
AUGH!
I have never played halo once, but I can 100% tell the difference between Keith David and Arnold Schwazenegger
I think i might play too much Halo-

Right. But I would play next parts of Max Payne. His worldview is different than other rockstar games characters.
It's funny to me that you made this post because I just got back into the gym after a long hiatus and after a month without doing any hikes, to which I was doing once a week. One thing that I would add is that if you want to be fit you need to have some very good reasons for doing so other than just "being fit". I want to work out more because the dopamine rush helps me deal with my ADHD and I have a family history of diabetes and I'm trying to avoid getting diabetes. Also, one of the biggest reasons why I want to keep working out is that I'm an avid hiker and going to the gym would help me complete harder hikes; this past summer I completed a very challenging hike, but I got sick because of the physical exertion. I don't want that to happen again, but I also don't want to skip certain trails because I don't have the physique to complete them.
Okay damn. Wow. Yup. There it is. That's why I suddenly turned from hating to loving horror shortly after a traumatic event in my life. That's why there seems to be such a strong correlation between my anxiety about the real world and finding safety in imagined horrors. Thanks doc! *Edit - additional thoughts - just like I personally can't listen to songs about heartbreak when I'm heartbroken, I find certain kinds of horror more traumatic than comforting
I want to get in shape for the first time. I started going to the gym in October, because I wanted to start before the new year.
it's insane how much music choices we share, unironically thought I had soundcloud still playing lol anyway great vid and definitely the right timing, I stopped doing sports a good 4-5 months ago after I had issues with my mental health and I've been thinking of going back to sport this year I rly hope I have the motivation to do so this year
no tren twins clips -rep
Yeah it is crazy how useful it really is, the main thing being "time" we are in a time where there are so many things that are competing with our time. it also comes with many sacrifices. I have gone from about 250 lbs to about 165-170 lbs, I have been able to fluctuate this way for about 20-30 lbs and i am really happy with my results.... I have a decently physical warehouse job, but really the majority of my weight loss has come from eating less... I eat a very similar thing every day, i eat eggs, sardines, and some rx bars, the rx bars arent super amazbing but they are my breakfast and something to look forward too. I used to eat because it made me feel better, and changing mentality to "food is for fuel" compared to "food is supposed to taste good" changed a lot for me. It was hard, and i have made mistakes but I did it by just having my goal to "not do that thing". I also reduced playing video games at the same time. And currently i am not playing video games and have not played for maybe 2 weeks and am not stopping yet. I am working on finding other things to replace my time with but it is difficult. The first year i pretty much worked, went home, watched some youtube, then slept. Ironically sometimes i would watch people playing games but again my thing was against playing games, not against watching them. Anyway this worked. I was able to get to work on time and life has just been much better, i still struggle with things and honestly i am trying my best.... It is what it is though. I guess what has helped me is not focusing on the end result too much, like people say "what is the point of working out if we all end up old and broken anyway?" why try? but it is because life feels better and you have more energy. If i get hit by a train tommorow i wont be thinking " dang i wish i had that pizza or i wish i was 500 lbs because it wouldnt have mattered" i think instead" it is what it is. I made the best choices with what i had. I focus to make sure i dont optimize the fun out of life, i am absurdly good at finding the "optimal" best solution to anything, but anything that is flexible or situational i struggle with. Really what i have been trying to work on in my life is "just doing it" whether it be working on model kits, or exercising, or just cooking, its ok to fail..... Its ok to fail, and i was told the opposite for years and lived in fear, but unfortunately life is about luck, and we cannot do the perfect thing every time forever, sometimes we have to roll the dice. Besides even when i fail it doesnt hurt as bad as when i am in fear all the time. So i just do what i can.
really warmed my hear reading this it's always awesome seeing how can people change for the better, I really hope you can keep up this mentality and find yourself new hobbies ! (not saying model kits are bad I love 'em too lol)
@@agentgollem1919 Thanks! Yeah i have had this mentality for about a year and it has been really helpful for me, i have changed it recently but its been good. Oh yeah and the model kits were the "good" thing i changed, Before i was never into painting or model kits, i did like heroscape and other tabletop stuff but not the stuff you have to do stuff outside the game like painting etc. But now I am enjoying model kits more and i like that it isnt "go go go" i can take as long as i want on them, but i do have to kinda force myself to just do a little sometimes lol, but i like it its just i always worry about "oh its not going to look good why even try" but honestly i do like them even when it doesnt turn out super good lol, and i learn and that is what life is about.
You're videos rock. I love the simple, conversational format & wide variety of topics. Sure, that's not as marketable, but it frees you up to discuss whatever you're interested in & that's special The first videos of yours I watched were in Signalis. I was looking for others thoughts on the game after playing it myself and not knowing anyone else who had & wanted to talk about its themes.
NIN is one of my favorite bands, but my brother-in-law had some valid criticism when he pointed out that Reznor whispers too much. I don't mind it, but I can see why a lot of people aren't into it.
Great video dude, keep it up
just got way too surprised from the view count, trully great work
I'm reminded of a quote from Malazan by Steven Erikson where in Gardens of the Moon a unit of veterans is replaced by a fresh recruit from an uppity officer school instead of the capable and experienced people within the unit, one member laments this and is reminded by the others that he could have volunteered for the spot and gotten it but was so weary and cynical by that point that he did not want to go through the effort or responsibility and settled in his position. "now you see the price of indifference" is what I think she said to him. Almost a year after I read this the situation was mirrored in my own life where the man I report to and work with at my job did not take our former supervisor's position when it opened up because he "was happy enough where he is and doesn't want to have to manage (me)" and instead an utter moron took the position and now we're both unhappy with the course of events since then. Settling might be semi effective as a cope but there is a price to pay for indifference and someday you will pay it one way or another.
I like you make different types of videos. I may not watch every single one at that moment, but it's nice being able to go back to the other videos when the time seems fitting
Love how your channel is lowkey just different philosophies leading to happiness
I'm glad you do whatever you want lol. I find it so refreshing the diversity of content on your channel.
Never stop making content, this is great
Thank you, I really appreciate it! (Also, I dig the NIN hoodie in your pfp)
I agree, You can either accept what is handed to you, or craft the life you want to lead. The second is much harder, but much more rewarding (also, I think that the interrogation format is good for these more philosophical videos)
Thanks for the thoughts! Appreciate it!
Even after a video's been sitting in Watch Later for a hot minute, you have this UNSETTLING knack of popping up with your brand of encouragement and introspective that I need in that moment. 🥳 Always appreciate how you can crystallize a nebulous feeling like this. My friend sent a talk from Justin McElroy a while back that had a similar impact when I needed a different push (ua-cam.com/video/ErdVm8p6GA8/v-deo.html), so you're in good company. And while I can recognize the survivorship bias of your examples (and even mine, through McElroy) that some other viewers brought up AFTER I watched, I saw this video in-the-moment as more an encouragement and a motivator rather than a study or historical deep-dive. All to say, love this one, even months later, and appreciate you chasing your writing so we can all benefit from it in some way! 💜 Also, love this video's shirt. 👍
