What kind of tool is this?
@@CnnrVizuals I'm using a pneumatic hand engraver. Mine is a Graver MachAT and 901AT handpiece made by GRS tools. You can also see a bench tour on my page detailing all of my tools
What kinda paper is that and can I draw it then put it onto metal or does it halft to be printed?
@@Anewme501 just cheap office depot printer paper. This transfer method will only work with a laser printer image.
@CustomFineMetal thank you I was afraid of that I don't have one and I'm trying to figure out a way to put the design on it with out a printer.
@@Anewme501 have you tried drawing the design directly on the metal?
@CustomFineMetal yea but it smears easy I'll try to find some one that's got a printer or try a couple different ways thanks for the advice tho.
@@Anewme501 be aware this method of transfer will wripe off as well. It is a little more robust than drawing but not much. If you are worried about your design wiping off the metal trace the design with a scribe burnishing the design into the metal before engraving
Thank you
@@AShakyLife my pleasure thank you for watching and let me know if you have any other questions
What engraving set up do you have??
@@MattHall-dz9cq I use the GRS GraverMach AT and 901 hand piece for the largest part of my work. You can see a bench tour in my videos as well
Using magazine paper (very thin) is the best
@@PEACEKEEPER-mm3js I'm not sure what you mean. You are transferring the magazine images?
Can you show us the engraver machine and where to buy one
I have done a few bench tours that you can see in my video library. All of my tools are from GRS Tools.
Beautiful
Thank you. Its a very simple design, but its really eye catching.
what's the price how much is this process I want to engage my pro tech
@@Marcothemillionaire this piece was sold directly to William Henry. Commission pricing will depend on the complexity of the design we decide on plus any inlay materials. You can contact me about commission through my website. www.customfinemetal.com/contact Look forward to hearing from you.
i want to start learning how to hand engrave

Beautiful! What mini engraving machine is that pls? Do you have link to purchase
Good morning. I am an artist not a tool reseller. The tool you see me using in this video is a pneumatic rotary tool sold by GRS tools specifically for this kind of background removal. It is the 801 handpiece
Ah I see … much like a dental hand piece then .. thank you
@sabyx5 exactly
What do you do with all the shavings?
@@jaimegarciajr8812 I keep all the precious swarf and when I have enough by weight I send it for refining.
What engraver are u using? I can’t find engraving classes near me so I’m just looking around online for info. Books tools techniques all the true and tried stuff thank you in advance 😊

Hello sir. Does it works on hard steel?
@@vishwanathjha1955 my tools are made of carbide and will cut anything less hard that they are. Less than about 63 HRC

Pumpkin is not the best pie, the proof is that chocolate pie exists. :)
@@paulkupperman7049 lol. But chocolate is everywhere. Pay of what makes pumpkin pie special is that it's seasonal
What is the material you're working with?
@@refrigerator84 this piece is sterling silver.
@@refrigerator84 I try to keep the pieces made for patrons at a lower price point
i'm new to pneumatic engraving and i'm wondering what gravers you use for such clean cuts
The bulk of this piece was done with 120° V point and 15° parallel heel, polished to 1200 grit. But once you know how to sharpen a graver, technique and control count for more than which geometry you are using. I could have gotten the same quality of cut from any of my gravers, the only difference would have been the shape of the cut. Consider joining my Patreon. I interact more directly and answer questions more completely for my subscribers.
@@CustomFineMetal it looks so nice and clean! I can't control the 120 like that (yet 😬) what material are they? C-max?
@@justin1066 yeah. I use CMax gravers almost exclusively. I have some HSS but I don't use then often
@@CustomFineMetal I'll have to give it a try. Only ever used Glensteel

I really really really and I mean really do love ur work!!!!!! What kind of pneumatic should I try? I can’t see myself spending 1k n I may not like doing it. But it’s divine watching and I would to give it a try with something other than a pneumatic rotary tool
@@torisnyder1342 thank you so much. I definitely recommend you try a class before investing in pneumatic tooling. But don't forget that some of the very best engraving ever has been accomplished by either traditional hand push or hammer and chisel
Hey that pattern is exquisite 👌 do you know what that style is called?

Do you need to bake or heat this after coloring, or apply a lacquer layer or some other coating to protect the color?
@@hikari005 not really. I will often use Renaissance Wax. To protect the metal from tarnish or corrosion but laquers will chip and are difficult to refresh
