Kabbalat Shabbat Chanting Series: Simachtani, A Mystical Prayer of Awareness by Rabbi Ethan Franzel
Kabbalat Shabbat Chanting Series - Psalm 92: Simachtani Adonai - A Mystical Prayer of Joy and Awareness. Music for Spiritual Experience by Rabbi Ethan Franzel
Psalm 92:5-6 - You have made me joyous through Your creation, Adonai! It is through your works that I cry with gladness. How great are your manifestations, Adonai! Your consciousness is deeply subtle.
From the mystical and spiritual perspective, God is a complete Oneness - only God exists! The material world that we see and feel a part of is a manifestation of the Divine, God emanating from the transcendent to the corporeal to create the world, a world that only appears to be separate from its Source. The recognition of this deep truth, along with the inner knowledge of God’s profound oneness (and therefore our own deep and subtle Oneness!) leads to an experience of joy and love and gladness and (insert super-positive words here!)… The author of this Psalm experienced this, and expressed that experience in these words. We can chant them as a spiritual practice, again and again, to bring alive that experience within ourselves. Try it for yourself, and go deep!

Shalom Rav, Abundant Peace - A Song for Electric Contemplation by Rabbi Ethan Franzel
Переглядів 2173 місяці тому
Shalom Rav is a prayer for peace, found in the evening service in the Jewish liturgy. A fervent Hebrew prayer which - as I interpret it! - proclaims that peace - shalom - is both an experience and an opportunity. It’s all around us if we want to see it and feel it and spread it everywhere you go! Written originally as part of a suite of prayerful music called “Shabbat Electric,” the setting is ...

Переглядів 1443 місяці тому
V’ahavta, from Deuteronomy 6:5, is both a profound spiritual Torah verse as well as a prayer said daily in the Jewish tradition. “And you shall love Adonai your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might.” A commandment to love? How can we be commanded to feel a feeling? Especially one as powerful as love. Rabbi Menachim Nachum of Chernobyl, in his Me’or Einayim, says ...
Hashkiveinu: A Contemplative Prayer for Peace, Music for Stillness by Rabbi Ethan Franzel
Переглядів 3153 місяці тому
Hashkiveinu is a powerful Hebrew prayer from the Jewish liturgy, said during both weekdays and Shabbat. It is an evening prayer, and it reflects emotionally the time of its recitation: the burgeoning nightfall brings with it potential feelings of darkness and uncertainty, and at the same time there is hope for renewal for a new day. It is also a profound prayer for peace: Ever Present One, Sour...
Ein Od Milvado - There is NoThing Else! Music for Meditation by Rabbi Ethan Franzel

In Deuteronomy 4:35, Moses reminds the Israelites that they are to worship only Adonai - no other god exists for them: “It has been shown clearly to you that Adonai alone is God; ein od milvado - there is no other besides (Adonai).” The plain meaning of the text is that the Israelites only have one God to worship; however, in the Jewish spiritual tradition, the final phrase, ein od milvado, is ...

Leit Atar Panu’i M’neih - There is no place empty of the Divine! The Zohar, a 13th century corpus which is the central work of Kabbalah, is one of the most powerful mystical texts in existence. Tikkunei Zohar, a text composed in the 14th century, was written in the style of the Zohar, and is often seen as an extension of the Zohar itself. In the Tikkunei Zohar we find perhaps the most fundament...

Szépséges táj. ❤️❤️❤️
`When you are coming in unto the land which Yehovah your Elohim is giving to you, you do not learn to do according to the abominations of those nations: there is not found in you one causing his son and his daughter to pass over into fire, a user of divinations, an observer of clouds, and an enchanter, and a sorcerer, and a charmer, and one asking at a familiar spirit, and a wizard, and one seeking unto the dead. `For the abomination of Yehovah [is] every one doing these, and because of these abominations is Yehovah your Elohim dispossessing them from your presence. Perfect you are with Yehovah your Elohim
Ok, thanks for your response. Tie in your words/quote with the words of the Psalm - would love to hear your thoughts about how they connect!

Yasher Koach, Holy Brother!
Thank you, Holy Brother!
How can you Play on a piano 🎹
That is a great question! You can hear the piano in the background on the recording. Basically, this chant is so much about the melody that there aren't really chords to play for it. On a piano I would just play a D chord without the 3rd (so just the notes D and A), and sing the melody over that drone. I hope you do so!
God bless Israel ,from Ethiopia Africa
❤❤❤❤
☀🖖
Sounds great, Holy Brother!😃
As I said when you first played this for me, Holy Brother, "This sounds like something The Beatles would have written in 1967, if they had gone to Tzfat for spiritual inspiration instead of India." "Aaaaaaana!"
That does indeed sound like something you would say!!!!! I can still hear our feet stomping on the floor in the recording when we played it for the first time 😅
