Canberra Day 2 - National Zoo and Aquarium
Nice story, well told....a gentler time🤗
Not that I was alive at the time, but that's exactly what I felt when I "visited" 1935
The red rattler train…
I know...to think that back then it was the latest in technology. 🙂
Where do I sign up. Have no money, regularly eat at McDonald's, am alive and love spending other people's money. 😂
😅
This park sux No local people other than drug addicts frequent this rubbish park
I am sorry to hear that such a pretty park is in that kind of state. Thanks for the info. I'm not local, but I guess I'm not surprised, just very disappointed ☹️
It's that Poppins woman.. 😂
That's what I needed at lunchtime, Tuppence to feed the birds ..😂
You could have told them to go fly a kite, or just said that word that can be said when you don't know what to say, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
I have subbed. And I saw it was a stabbing.
Yeah, quite gruesome. Thanks for subbing. 👍
So you can hire scooters cool 😊
I know. And they only charged $30. Other places charge between $80 and $120
Thank you for all your videos glad you got to have Christmas with your mum and dad. How are you all? How are they? How long were you in Adelaide? It would be good to catch up with you next time.😊
I was only in Adelaide a few days. I never have enough time in Adelaide to visit all the people I want to, even if I spend two weeks! The videos were originally for mom and Dad to watch, but now I'm thinking others are interested and if I can find enough of them (1000 subs) I could monetise my channel. I am going to start this week doing weekly videos on locations or attractions around Sydney (similar to what I did on the various towns I visited) so stay tuned. If you have any ideas of things you would like to see around Sydney or Surrounds I am happy to consider suggestions.
Hi Matt, you can also go to Western Sydney Zoo
Merry Christmas and happy New year.😊🧑🤱👶🐄🐑🐎🏕️🌟🧍🧍🐑🐑🌟👼👼👸👸👸🐪🐪🐪🎁🎁🎁🌟🎄🤶⛄🍜🍹🥳🎇🎇🎆🎊🎉🎊🎉🍾🥂
Same to you, but with a few less emojis 😂
Where is Pevensey? It's not a boat is it?
Yes, Pevensey is a paddle steamer. You can see it as we go past it heading on the river, and there is a model of it in the museum.
Jesus saves you ❤️❤️😂
The sign at the foot of the Ned Kelly statue contains a great deal of falsehoods. What a pity you have read out so much fictitious rot, that is not true in any sense. 1. 82% of the police in Victoria at that time were IRISH. 2. Two of the early premiers in Victoria were IRISH. 3. The Royal Commission held in 1881 into Victoria police stated clearly that the Kelly family were NOT persecuted, as this sign claims. Here is their comment from the RC directly. “ It may also be mentioned that the charge of persecution of the family by the members of the police force has been frequently urged in extenuation of the crimes of the outlaws; but, after careful examination, your Commissioners have arrived at the conclusion that the police, in their dealings with the Kelly’s and their relations, were simply desirous of discharging their duty conscientiously; and that no evidence has been adduced to support the allegation that either the outlaws or their friends were subjected to persecution or unnecessary annoyance at the hands of the police.” 4. The government did not practice class distinction at all. Many Irish who were honest and hardworking succeeded in the colony. There was certainly animosity between religion leaders, as the facts clearly show. 5. Ned Kelly did NOT witness the death of Joe Byrne. Byrne was killed by a stray police bullet fired at about 5am, which hit Byrne in the groin, where he bled to death quickly. After the initial firefight at 3.15am, Ned Kelly walked back into the hotel and walked straight away out the back door. He walked for about 150 metres and lay down behind a large fallen log and stayed there until 7am (which he confirmed after his capture), when he rose and attacked the police from behind. The suggestion that Ned Kelly witnessed Joe Byrnes death was made up by Ian Jones, who was a pro Kelly author whose fiction still dominates much of the signage at Glenrowan. It was made up nonsense. 6. The people in North East Victoria, at the time Kelly was at the peak of his criminal thieving of their stock, loathed Ned Kelly and his clan. The suggestion that they were considered hero's is fictitious rubbish made up by lies presented by pro Kelly authors, who made up a copious amount of fiction. 7. At Glenrowan, Ned Kelly fired first at the police as he approached them from behind. It was after the first shots that police returned fire. Another lie made up by Ian Jones, that is not true. 8. Ned Kelly NEVER had a strong sense of family. While he lived the high life off the proceeds of his thieving, his mother and sisters lived in poverty. A police officer saw Kelly's sisters in Benalla dressed in rags, and he collected money from locals and gave it to the storekeeper with instructions to clothe and feed the Kelly girls. What did the people really think? Here is an editorial written in 1878, by a journalist in Wangaratta. Well worth the read, as it tells the truth. Go to the place that refers to two eyes, a nose and a face, and look for Ned Kelly False Icon, and read the first article. Rather long, but it reflects what the people thought of Kelly at the time. That certainly does not fit with what is presented at Glenrowan now.
You may have noticed my Snyde remark about his PR department. I am aware it was lies, and apologise if it didn't come across clearly enough. The whole piece was meant to highlight how stupid we are for idolizing these things, and having people like these as our heros. Again, apologies if this didn't come across clearly enough.
Having said this, please note that when it comes to Lieutenant Holbrook, he is, no doubt, a man deserving of respect. My problem with this story is that a small township with absolutely no ties to the man or his work (being 400km from nearest port) could appropriate his name for the publicity.
I really do like your response though. It has cleared it up for everyone else, and it warms my heart that people ARE prepared to do their own research and not just follow the popular narrative ☺️
@@matthewgregory9302 Sadly, the fiction has dominated for a few decades. New books in the last ten years are revealing the truth. Books by Ian MacFarlane, Doug Morrissey PhD, and articles by Stuart Dawson, PhD, are slowly but surely setting the record straight. Thank you for your comment, it is appreciated, as I usually get pilloried and called a liar, when all my comments are provably by factual documentation.
The waterfall as very nice but very loud
How much is it to see and where in Canberra?
Usual price is $25, but they are having an online sales at moment, so it was $21. It's located on Barton Highway heading out of Canberra towards Yass (and on to Melbourne). It's well sign posted and easy to find. We stayed at Leumeah, which is a Hotel very close by.
