I love you Mel but with due respect please don't insult Zoro😅 I know his 3 swords style is kinda stupid but i believe he uses 3rd sword on mouth just to increase more impact on his moves and if you think about swordsmanship in OP world they barely use it to direct cut but to create clear cut sharp impact and tbh i am not a huge fan of Zoro like Luffy but still slanders on Zoro by Sanji fans icks me all the time. I personally don't think Luffy & Loki are going to end up being friends? I think Loki's air of seeming to be only in it for himself (wanting to end the world, not caring if the humans in the underworld die, etc.) are pretty at odds with Luffy's personality. Especially considering Loki is probably at odds with Hajrudin & the rest of Luffy's giant friends.

I think the marines discussion and why so many people are so reluctant to accept that the manga is very clearly saying that the whole system is corrupt and bad is just very revealing of people's actual politics. Most fans seem to be kind of centrist, they can see that the marines have done bad stuff but they don't think the system itself is at fault, it's just that there are bad individuals in it. Which is kind of funny because this relies on ideas that are depicted *as propaganda* in the manga: that the marines are "justice", rather than simply the armed force of the celestial dragons. But I guess to many people the marines appear as more "reasonable" and lawful than pirates and the revs, and so they end up defending a literal fascist state over those who try to overthrow it lmao

I’m very curious as to Loki’s connection to Shanks. Perhaps Loki is the “old friend” Shanks came to see. Obviously, in the story, Robin is cutting her hair so Saul recognizes her. But Oda has to be changing Robin's hair back b/c Lera Abova just started playing her in the live action, and he fell in love with the time skip design again. Also, Saul’s “fallen and he won’t get up”? WOOOOOWWWW! Life Alert much? My guess is a painter is a stone that allows them to create a rainbow bridge that lets them travel between the levels.

I loved this so much! I think my favorite was the older Marine brother. I loved that his love of Luffy was so personal. I loved the girl too. I loved that we never got a clear shot of the Straw Hats, except for that one fan of Brook’s but she’s a fan of Brook the singer, not Brook the pirate and she wouldn’t connect to who Chopper is.

I never understand why people can't relate to characters that aren't their own gender... Like, I related to Spirited Away as well in a similar way, and I'm not a little girl yet that's one of my favorite movies of all time! And even in this special here, I too related to the little girl as Nami is MY favorite character on the Strawhat crew, I even have a Nami tattoo! And it's all because I personally relate to Nami the most, EVEN THOUGH I am NOT a girl myself nor do I identify as a girl in any way, shape, or form! So it always boggles my mind when people like you talk about needing to see more stories that star characters that match your physical identity... it's not about relating to someone's identity IMHO. It's about relating to their struggles or personality or story or whatever. It's about connecting with characters on a deeper inner level, NOT about connecting with them on the most superficial surface level BS...

I've been DEMANDING a slice-of-life One Piece series. Just a huge anthology tome, inside the daily lives of civilians and other characters and fill in the space between arcs with mundane goings-on on the Merry/Sunny. So much untapped potential.

Edit: I cannot believe this but I made this comment like 2 months ago when this VOD was first uploaded, only to discover UA-cam had posted it an a COMPLETELY random video instead of this one???? Like a weird glitch? Anyway putting it here again, even if it's 2 months later.... Interesting bringing up the potential of Sanji mutating during Elbaf, because I always thought of Usopp as a subtle antithesis-yet-the-same-as-him type of character to Sanji. If Zoro is Sanji's rival/shadow, than Usopp is kind of Sanji's unexpected foil. They both contrast and reflect him in interesting ways. Usopp feels like the absolute thematic opposite of the Vinsmoke siblings; if theyre inhuman powerhouses and unfeeling monsters, than he is the most human you can be; defined by his fear and kindness. The two main emotions removed from them. Not to mention Usopp's whole "I feel weak and useless compared to my strong peers and I could never catch up to them" is directly reflected by Sanji's backstory. He's the only one who can truly understand how that feels and he blatantly showed it in Water 7. Sanji's "I'll do what you cant, and you'll do what I cant" to him from Enies Lobby still lives in my head rent free; they want the most to be like each other. They both hate themselves in similar ways and tie their self worth to how 'useful' they are. tldr I fully agree that Elbaf could potentially have a Sanji mutation moment, even if it'll be an Usopp Arc. Maybe even because of it, it's a good place to do it in. I think Sanji having that clash with both Zoro and Usopp makes perfect thematic sense.

Maybe the 'not wanting Zoro to get lost gag' and Sanji making sure he stays with the group, will mean Zoro will start noticing changes with his wife. Maybe that's why Sanji has been really on Zoro not wondering off. He needs Zoro close, in case something goes wrong with him. Make the gag a story point, like the nosebleeds in Fishman Island. Or the whole crew is just fed up with lost Zoro, as Jinbei witnessed in Wano.

I think Vivi had Morgans print an "X" on Luffy's arm to show that she's alive. And I think adding the detail that his arm is blurry but not the "X" is Oda hinting at that. I love Loki's design. I think the bandages on his eyes reference the myth of Loki being chained to a rock and having a snake drip venom into his eyes. It’s also reminiscent of Odin sacrificing his eye and then hanging himself for 9 days on the tree Yggdrasil for knowledge. Also, did we know Hajrudin was a prince of Elbaph? I would say that we now know that it's spelled Elbaph, not Elbaf. But the scans had a note that this is Jump editorial and not something drawn by art himself.
