It makes sense honestly because sometimes you reach a point where you stop placing too much value and emotion on profits and loses , also one thing that made me realise i was winning is the fact that no matter what i can grow any account from small to big..within a short time and without taking too much of a high risk.

It is very hard, but I believe that you have to find a way of trying to stay in the game. At the moment people would think that I am a gambler-with one difference-I can see the support and resistance-can you see the equivalent in horse racing! And non traders wouldn't even know what support and resistance is, so I know that I have to stay in the game with real money and not a demo account. As I have said before I am learning how to lose money at a pace that I have control of-which buys me time to become more successful and lose less. Cheers Kanish for bringing out the truths of retail trading.

Thank you for the kind words. And you do raise a valid point, only traders will understand traders and unfortunately if keeping quiet about this business is what will help you become successful then that's what has to be done. I understand the enthusiasm that people have with their passion for trading but it's just seen very negatively nowadays as if giving up early is the normal thing or average thing to do

Hello Kanish-I totally understand and experience daily everything that you have said. I don't get judged on what I do because I don't tell my work collegues about my trading so I don't suffer that negativity. I accept my losses easily because I have a day job combined with a small trading account-if I blow the account I still have my home, my car and my regular income. Any profit is either kept in the account or moved to my current account. I manage my risk by always having spare money to cover any position in drawdown, and I usually hedge to make up for the drawdown value. I have had more losses than wins since I started in May 2020, but my trading is now very streamlined to one market and that helps a lot. I too hold that Holy Grail of living purely from my trading and I think another two years will see me get there-that is a constant target in my head. I am so numbed to loosing money now that when I open a position I expect to loose and this helps me work out what I need to do to manage the position e.g. partial closure of position, hedging or whatever I need to do. The day job allows me to check my phone so when my colleagues are all looking at social media I am checking my position/s and hopefully closing in a profit! I have spent my time learning how to loose rather than win and I think people don't want to learn how to loose-but I believe this is the way to success.

Your opinion is right but it depend bro. It depend on system you use it depend how you can easy catch the trade. For my intances in my setup I gotta stay productive and look at the chart more. and for my 7years of experience I know the reality now. Stop believe on those ppl who says that they lookin once on their chart on a week that's probably a science fiction in this intustry you gotta stay productuve double your work as soon as possible like in real job. trading is so rewarding when you have edge more is power

Everyone has their own approaches which have pros and cons so it really comes down to their ability to be able to identify what they're doing wrong. Chart time and technicals has to have a healthy balance and I agree when it all settles in, it's rewarding for sure

Here's what I learned about day trading on the forex market which I hope will help others prevent making mistakes and if you're serious about day trading, get you off to a good start.. 1. Education is key. Before you start trading read and learn as much as you can. The good thing about trading and investing is that education is largely free. There's a wealth of information and resources out there you can access freely. Learn as much as you can about trading and investing before you even consider opening a brokerage account and placing trades. I cannot overstate the importance of this. And it's important to not rely on one person or source of information. 2. Practice and learn from mistakes. Just as in any activity that requires skill that only comes from practice. You can't just start trading without any experience and expect to become a continuously successful brilliant trader. You will make mistakes but those mistakes don't need to cost you all your savings or a sizeable chunk of your trading fund. You can practice trading for free on a demo account and when you're ready to move to a live trading account start with a little amount of money ie $50-$100 and place nano trades. Remember the size of the trades and value of your position is irrelevant. Your aim is develop trading strategies that work to hone your trading skill. This is how you learn self-discipline and keeping your emotions around successful trades and loss trades in check to avoid the gamblers mentality of over-trading/over-confidence, and revenge-trading/chasing losses. Some people at this stage discover just how hard this is and that trading just isn't suited to their personalities. Better to discover that in your practice phase than to dive into the deep end with $10,000's of your savings and end up learning it the hard way. 3. Watch your leverage and margin. Most retail brokers offer you high leverage (ie 100:1 or 200:1) accounts but be aware if a position goes against you and you get a margin call due to insufficient margin, your trade is automatically closed out at a loss. Set your leverage at a sensible level you're comfortable with that suits your trading style and margin equity (you can normally adjust your leverage down and up on accounts, 50:1 is a good starting level for beginners. 4. Set realistic stop losses or it will be a guaranteed loss. Whether you're a frequent or infrequent trader if you're using a stop loss, don't set them too tight (ie 10-20 pips) away from your trade else you're going to get stopped out even on what would be a good trade as many markets are just too volatile for such tight stop losses. By practising and determining a sensible risk to reward ratio you'll learn the right stop loss level for each trade and market you're trading. There's no fixed rule it really depends on the individual and how you trade. 5. Don't be greedy - trade like a business. When you have very successful trading days or periods it's easy to get overly confident and begin over-trading by jumping straight back into the market. Resist that temptation and approach trading like a business with strict money-management rules on trading targets and loss limits. If you can't do this you're gambling and will likely not achieve sustainable trading results. 6. Develop your own trading stills. Don't be tempted to mirror other traders or rely too much on strategies and indicators of others which you don't fully understand. It's important you learn how to trade and how to identify your own trading opportunities and develop your own trading stills. This takes time, patience and practice but it's well worth it. And my last tip for actual trading I discovered early on is this.. Many traders seem to think the aim of a perfect trader is to get the most pips. And whilst that style of trading might work for some traders, it's certainly not the easiest way of trading as it usually means staying in the market for longer and is more risky if you're a day trader and so is probably better suited for non-intraday traders. What's more useful is a modest 10-20 pips trade which you can do consistently with a high win to low loss ratio. If you can do that, it doesn't matter you're only making 10 pips as the value of a pip can be anything you like, ie $10 to $10,000+. Consistency and being able to repeat a trade over and over successfully is more realistically viable and useful than being able to accurately predict big market swings and capture 100+ pips trades. When you approach trading as simple mathematics rather than predictive analysis, it becomes far more rewarding, easier and less frustrating. Don't try to second guess the market too far ahead, focus on high probability trades and learn your skill from practice and back-testing. Be aware that trading is far more risky than investing and the two things are very different. Only use as much money as you can afford to lose, ie 10-15% of your fund is a sensible level once you've practised enough and become proficient at trading to start using real capital.
