Miro - excellent advice - regarding lenses for stock photography - do you find a noticable difference in quality say for exampe an inexpensive nifty 50 prime lens and and high quality nifty 50 prime lens? I shoot MFT Lumix using inexpensive secondhand Olympus lens but I was wondering if it would be better using more expensive brand lenses for stock photo's

Thanks for sharing your stock earnings. I appreciate hearing how other photographers are doing. My portfolio size is about the same size - lots fewer videos tho. I made about half of what you did. Istock/Getty sales seem to come and go for me, sometimes I make it to a hundred in a month, but mostly I average about 50 a month on the site. For me, July 2024 on SS was the worst month I've had in about five years - I barely made it to $25. for the month. Adobe certainly is taking over the stock photography field. Congratulations on reaching the magic 1000 subscribers on UA-cam!

on your graphic you should just take out "sstk"'s name but include the counts, no one will guess what agency that is

Thank you, Miro, for the very interesting and inspiring video. I noticed that you use models in your stock images and videos. I assume you pay them commercial rates. Are you able to recover your costs? With the advent of AI, stock contributors can now create 'people images' using artificial intelligence instead of real models, and this technology is only getting better. Considering this, how economical is it to use real models? I wouldn't be surprised if, in the near future, AI could also generate food images successfully. It seems that, except for editorial photography, AI-generated images might eventually replace traditional photography. What do you think?

The best way to earn money selling stock images is to shoot only things that can't be generated by AI, so editorial stuff and some locations when traveling, monument s, rare coins, products etc.

I purchased the Synco G1 set - I have the same good things to say about the brand too - BUT .... I can't figure out if it's me or the mics - I have no end of frustration with them. Mine seem to pick up way too much ambient noise (guess that's because they are omni directional). I instantly lost the dead cats because they don't fit well. They don't come with much instruction so I'm still muddling my way through. It could be that my set is cheaper and last years technology, but I'm ready to buy another brand mic. Thanks for sharing your demo!

Miro thank you for sharing - what seems to be a pattern for me is the pictures and video's you seem to have most success with is the simple shots. Maybe there is a lesson for newbie stock contributors like me - keep it simple.
