This is the Ravenel Train Depot with a section of double track. Amtrak also uses this line. The depot was moved to this spot and refurbished. It has a nice porch in the shade as this was a HOT day. To the right goes north towards CHS, and the left heads south, Yamassee station is next several miles down the line. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yemassee_station

June 19th: I had the day off for Juneteenth day and decided to catch a few trains. This was at the Ravenel train depot. 97 degrees outside too. I didnt last too long.

Caught this train in the morning, yes it was hot but beautiful outside.

Caught this 4 engine train heading south. I could here the engines struggling to pull this thing up to speed. The yard is just a few miles down the track. It took just about 3 minutes for this to pass me.

Caught this on my way home from the gas station.

June 28th, my birthday present to me, railfanning in the morning, got 5 trains total. love this part of the track because they can go full throttle.

June 28th, 2024. Had the day off for my birthday and went railfanning at Ravenel Train Depot 15 minutes from the house. As soon as I pulled up at 6:00am, this nice consist rolled through heading south.

July 1&2, Amtrak 91 had some issues. Not sure if it was mechanical, storm related delays, or freight traffic, but the result is 91 and 97 connected together heading down south to Florida. Every now and then Amtrak has to connect to trains when facing severe delays or mechanical issues. This consist was 6 hours late and therefore was able to catch it in the morning of July 2nd.

CSX Mainline single track just down the road from my house. This is the CSX Milepost 396 on Sanders Road, Charleston County.

Caught this 4 unit power at Sanders road mile post 396 with 4 engines, and some new rapid discharge hoppers. A nice shot of an Air Force C-17 making a final approach to Joint Charleston Air Force Base during a very cloudy day. What a shot!
