Your painting is absolutely stunning!! I have been using colored pencils for a while, and while I’m not skilled at drawing, I’ve been coloring beautiful line work made by very skilled artists. I have found that since I’m very detail oriented, I often get lost in the details. I want it to be “perfect”. If there’s a reference image, I try to replicate it, whether it’s a photo or art made of the artist. While that is fun, it also limits me from my own creative process. I don’t feel that I am creative. I struggle to find my own color palette. I have found color palettes that I think is beautiful on different platforms, but then I get insecure on how to use it on paper. Where to put the colors to make the picture look good. This weekend I attended my first watercolor course. It was a deliberate choice for me as I hoped it would make me let go of some my “control issues”, and let the paint lead the way a bit. And I had so much fun. The first painting we made was a bit scary. It was quite a big canvas, and I just decided to do a leap of faith and dive in. We had talked a bit beforehand about “art by accident”, and I love that concept 😊 If I did something “wrong”, then I would have to try to make it work in my painting. And who decides what’s wrong anyway 😉 Thanks for talking about this. I think a lot of people have this fear in different areas of their life. More than you realize. It’s just not something ppl talk about. I’ve struggled with this most of my life, and I try to actively work on getting better at this. A friend once told me that you get better at what you practice. If you go to the gym and start to lift weights, you know that you can’t start with the biggest ones, because you haven’t worked up the muscle strength yet. But you know that if you keep up the workouts regularly, one day you will be able to lift them. The same goes for the inner dialogue. If you keep a negative dialogue about yourself, then that’s what you get good at. I think that so many of us look in the mirror every day and have that negative dialogue with ourselves. Tell ourselves that we’re not good enough, or pretty enough, or worth enough for other ppl. But would you say that to your best friend? Or your mom? Or your child? You are just as much worth as they are. And you should treat yourself equally good as you treat them 🤗 Look in the mirror and tell yourself that you are good enough. You are pretty enough 🥰 You are worth enough 😊 YOU ARE ENOUGH!! Just the way you are. And you are very brave for making this video 🤗 Thank you for making it 🤗

Beautiful painting. I find as soon as I pressure myself to paint then I stop doing it (Usually a birthday card or something) - so that’s a kind of fear stopping me. I need to stop painting specific cards and just paint for myself and make some into cards 😅
