Page 70 The idea of raising 50 million dollars was Watanabe's brain child originating from his conversation before the war with His Holliness Otani Kozui, the spiritual head of the Higashi Buddhist Sect.

His Holliness Otani, with whom Watanabe conferred in November, 1941, when the latter was formulating a general framework of military administrative policy, suggested the feasability of such an idea.57

57 Interview with Watanabe, July 9, 1966. Otani drafted for Watanabe post-war plans for the administration of Malaya, Draft Plans for the Disposition of the Malay Peninsula. In this draft, however, there was no mention of extorting money from Chinese communities. See, Otani Kozui, Marei Hanto zengo shori hoan, n.d. Marked "Secret."

We are of the same age! Will be 65 in June. But I think I don't look so old like you..hihi..but, you definitely look a very wise old man multiple times. Recently I thought of opening a Utube. Reason being before I depart this world, I can maybe create many interesting video clips about life and love that my loved ones can enjoy now and when I am gone. I am not tech savvy..that is my problem. I told my daughter..when you were small, I tried to teach you whatever schoolwork. Now, you have to teach me how to be tech savvy. And so, I hope I can open my utube blogging soon. Stumbling on your utube, you have inspired me even more to be tech savvy. Thank you so much.

Thank you Rev Yamada for showing us the journey you took around the continental US and relating this to our journey to seek wisdom. I especially appreciated your discussion regarding how it came to be that Japanese Buddhists could be mislead into killing during world war II, something very troubling to me as I am a product of that war, being my mother was from Kyoto and my father was a US Army soldier.
