Lovely presentation. I must correct your statement at 6:30 though. Using one of the suits as Trumps was the original method in the Mamluk games. When these card games came to Italy, the Trionfi cards were added to be used as the Trump cards instead.
Thank you! That sentence could have been worded better. I talk about karnoffel later in the video having the chosen suit mechanic so wasn't trying to imply that was a new invention.
