When it comes to finding lighting for your space, there are SO many options! How do you make the right choice? An easy way to narrow down your options is to figure out what size fixtures can fit in vour space! We have a formula for finding the right size fixture- be sure to save this Reel for when you pick the light fixtures in your home! To determine the correct DIAMETER of a light fixture: 1. Measure the length and width of the room in feet (ex: 10' by 12') 2. Add the two lengths together. 3. Swap the value of feet for inches (ex: 22 feet becomes 22 inches) 4. This is the ideal diameter for a light fixture in this room. To determine the correct HEIGHT of a light fixture: Measure the height of the room (floor to ceiling) in feet (ex: 10 ft) Multiply the height by 2.5" to 3" per foot (ex: 10 × 2.5" = 25 ft, 10 × 3" = 30 ft) Swap the value of feet to inches (so 25-30 feet becomes 25-30 inches) This is the ideal height range for a light fixture in this room. Once you know the ideal size of a light fixture for a given space, you can narrow down your options significantly!
