The Pluripotent Blastocysts of the Infrared Eels
A location from my new dark RPG rules-light wargame Investigating Censor.

Investigating Censor is a dark rules-light RPG wargame set amidst a campaign by oracular warrior monks to eliminate a sect of human-sacrificing pirates.
The leaders of these monks, Investigating Censors, can enlist anyone into their retinue on pain of outlawry. Anybody who is not an enemy can be turned into a party member.
Proper use of this power will bring powerful alchemists, spirit-binders, sword saints, and courtesans to the cause of the Investigating Censors.
Misuse of the Investigating Censors' charter will arouse fanatical resistance among the people of the pirate regime.
Allies will be needed, as the warriors monks must wage archery battles from horseback, fight pirate ships at sea, storm sacrificial fanes in the caverns of the rocky coast, and survive encounters with supernatural creatures and their powers of prophecy.
"100% febrile... 100% scintillating
The whole work sparkles. An excellent way to generate febrile situations and toss chaos in the form of the PCs into the middle." - The Lone Amigo

Patrick Stuart Interview: Art

I interview Patrick Stuart about art in support of his upcoming book, Speak, False Machine, which is active on Kickstarter. Each funding tier will enable new art to be commissioned for the book, so even though it's already been funded, it's important that the project continues to grow. Noisms Interview: David McGrogan on His Life and Work

I aksed David McGrogan (Noisms, of Monsters & Manuals) if he’d like to do an interview and he agreed! David’s blog contains commandingly lucid meta-discussion of roleplaying games as well as new game content following on his sui generis Yoon-Suin and other projects such as the Peridot. He has recently released the first region of his new project: the Fixed World, a place where the sun never shi...

I'm not super far into the video yet but the discussion around the Arthurian inspiration is really cool, makes me very excited for the prospect of Palaces of Fire. I had the awesome opportunity to take a medieval legend class this last semester so seeing Patrick Stuart's take on the themes of the Death of Arthur like was referenced will be so sick

Really great interview. Off the top of my head, I'm not sure who is my favorite prose writer alive today, but if I had to think about it Patrick Stuart definitely might be it. Veins of the Earth is one of those books that I always take off my shelf when I'm showing someone my library, at least to read them the back text. I'm not sure if I can pinpoint just what makes Stuart's work so interesting, but I feel as if it translated into this conversation. I know this video is a couple of years old and you haven't shared an interview in a while, but if you have a patreon or anything like that, I would love to show my support for this type of content.

This is one of the most thoughtful and fascinating interviews/conversations with an RPG creator that I have ever seen, and that is also how I would describe your interview with David McGrogan. Whatever obligations you face in life, I hope you find the opportunity to conduct more of these, because it's a rare treat to find a host who puts this much thought into the work. Thank you for these videos.

Great interview! I grew up in the UK in the 80's and can affirm everything David is saying here. The popularity of D&D, Fighting Fantasy, Lone Wolf, WHFRP, WH40K and Heavy Metal (not to mention 'video nasties' which jumpstarted Stephen King's career) all came out of the Satanic Panic. Halcyon days, indeed. Schools promoted fantasy stories as well - I remember reading Alan Garner and Susan Cooper at what would be elementary level in the US, and I bought my Fighting Fantasy books through a school book club. If you tell people 'don't read this! don't listen to this!' they tend to want as much of 'that' as possible! The writers, artists and designers at the time saw that and delivered in spades, creating the classics we love today. In tabletop gaming, the second wave of that came with the advent of the OSR, and the third wave of it will occur in the near future, also from the OSR: because that's where all the talent and creativity in the hobby resides these days. The "industry-leading" companies would never publish anything like Yoon Suin, or Lamentations of the Flame Princess.
