Mr Howell has not aged well. I worked for Mr. Howell at Atlantic American back in the mid 90's. He married into money by marrying Mac Robinson's daughter. I was at the wedding in Atlanta. It was Mr. "Mac" who bought Grey Communications. Mr. Robinson was a billionaire who was the largest single shareholder of Wachovia bank. Mr. Robinson was a fine Southern Gentleman. He brought Mr. Howell onto Atlantic American where he became president. Mr. Robinson had asked me if I wanted to be CFO of Atlantic American. I declined. I declined because of Mr. Howell. Mr. Howell forced me out of Atlantic American because I was a threat to his power. There are many instances of conflict I had with Mr. Howell. I am currently writing a book about my leadership in an issue that changed the State of Georgia regarding the Georgia Flag. Mr. Howell at one point ordered me to remove several Confederate items I had in my office. I was there when Mr. Howell called Mr. Robinson "an old dog". The pain on Mr. Robinson's I witnessed. When I asked Mr. Howell if I could speak to Zell Miller on the flag issue, Mr. Howell stated "You, the controller of Atlantic American speak to the Governor?"..........Mr. Howell assumed I was nothing more than a peasant. I left the company and started my own CPA practice. I have waited many years to write my book and now I am committed and expect it to be published within the next year or so. Its been a long time Hilton. Stay tuned....

I was in high school in CT with Richard Berler. He would declare his interest in weather and wanting to be a weatherman. When I went back for our high school reunion, Richard and his wife were there. So nice to learn he fulfilled his dream! Then today during the solar eclipse, there was Richard in Texas on TV at the start of the eclipse. So exciting! Congrats Richard!
