For the love of all that is holy, dont do this as a newbie, use your foot, these have really big wheels so the deck is way up compared to regular skates, instead of dragging your sole you can make several little taps on the ground. Also when you are going downhill or on a flat plane you can always turn, carving will slow you down and doing a complete turn will stop you. Never go downhill if its too narrow since theres no way to carve or turn when you catch some speed. There are more sofisticated ways of stopping, but these two are good for beginners

It’s too dangerous. When u go down hill, you can control the speed by going up to the hill.

Another way is a 90 degree kick turn

I don't understand people who Downhill with surfskates. That's not a longboard, it's only for cruising on flat ground

I saw this video last year when I started surfskating. Few days later I went my first hill down and tried to stop by running out like in the video, when I got to fast and had speed wobbles. I didn't know how to do it better. Don't do this. I had a worse accident and injured my knee. Couldn't skate anymore for months. How to do it better: Practice slides or foot brake. Jumping off or running out only works when riding slow.
