Im sorry, but black metal has evolved soooo much the last 10 years,,, atmospheric,,, symphonic, melodic,,, i dont think i have room in my heart for more rough sounding garage style black.... When bands like Mare Cognitum, Fires in the distance, Ghostheart Nebula, Ruins of Beverast and so many others are just forging new ground ~

they are so nasty with it in the studio. Flipping might be their best song. The time changes+aggression+bass distortion are really unique.

There are a couple of things: old black metal bands like Burzum and Dark Throne didn’t really have money to create a polished production. It wasn’t much of a choice. The vocals on this album are disappointed, but the riffs, melody and drums hint to the old roots, and just helps us go down the memory lane.

A somewhat modern glam metal band I like is called Crashdiet. Far better than what Crue has been doing post Dr. Feelgood. I hate it when bands date their music with certain lyrics. I remember int he mid 200s hearing songs by Megadeth, Filter, Avenged Sevenfold and others mentioning Iraq and the things going on there around that time, or the president at the time. And I thought even then "Well you've just dated this song". Turns out I was right.

John 5 is a Technician Guitarist yes he's very good and underrated but Mick Mars is a Blues based "Feel" Guitarist who excelled at Metal using Blues riffs and solo elements . Mick could contribute in the studio but touring is out . I dont think John 5 would be good with that so they have to start over kinda they need to find something that makes them want to write NIKKI & Sing VINCE , Tommy is seemingly stable who knows ? They need to go back to Metal like Shout it might be easier to sing for Vince they can drop tune which John 5 has always kinda done . So freshen your sound & approach to music or really Retire your Legacy has made me hesitant to just listen to the Music . Grow up you Old Bastards and give Mick a cut of ALL profits since you wouldn't have had the success without him Period you guys know the truth ....

this EP makes the 2019 "new" songs on the dirt soundtrack sound like masterpieces lol 80s mötley is fire but this....
