I bought craftsman when I was in school to be a gm technician. I don’t work on cars any more but I still have the tools. Just rebuilt my front end last summer. They really are great tools.

My old man loved going into sears to check out the tools and boxes. As a kid I hated it, now being in the auto industry I wish I could go back and enjoy that with him one more time as a kid.

The man who bought those single pair of pliers on a trip to Sears was probably thinking about that job the whole way there and back.

Man I bough a lot of tools last year but ended up needing knee surgery earlier this year and then after I recovered my dog died and I've just been so depressed that I haven't been able to get to my projects. I just got a flash forward to my future with my kids looking through my stuff after I've died and there's a bunch of unused tools 😢

While you have that hot water tank shut down, also change out your anode to reduce limescale build-up and corrosion, and while it's opened up, dump a couple pounds of citric acid powder in the tank, let it sit in the hot water for a day, then drain it out and flush the tank a couple of times to remove any existing scale. Also, install an in-line filter to block sediment from reaching your pressure washer pump. That stuff will destroy a pump.

Of all the cool things about this (like it being from Sears, which I only got to go in once or twice) I'm amazed that thermal papers still legible. If you know anything about thermal paper, it doesn't keep its text very long. For example I had a movie receipt shoved in my closet. Finally cleaned and found it, though all the text had faded from view, the only words left were the printed ones with the theater's name
