    I am a repairman of rotary gas meters (Romet, Roots). Could you tell me how to adjust the impellers after replacing the bearings so that they do not bump into each other?

    • @hollandsupplycompany
      @hollandsupplycompany 6 днів тому

      The meter has “skipped timing” if the impellers are bumping each other. 1. Inspect impellers for burs or damage. 2. Retime the impellers by removing the gear end cover and index cover. 3. Loosen 1 bolt on the same impeller for both ends. This will now allow one impeller to spin freely. You may need to use a gear puller to loosen the gear on the tapered shaft so it turns free. 4. Position the impellers so they nest properly with the “head” of one impeller nestled into the middle of the other. 5. Push the loosened gear onto the shaft and hold it with a finger while turning the shaft and gear at the same time. Your finger is keeping the shaft from turning inside the gear. This should allow you to rotate both impellers at the same time and correct any further timing issues. 6. Once timing is corrected tighten the bolt on the gear end making sure the impeller does not move. Repeat this step as necessary until timing is corrected. Tighten index end bolt. Do not overtighten bolts and locktite is recommended for the bolts. 7. If timing continues to be off one of the impeller shafts may be bent or one of the head plates may be dimpled causing the problem. In these cases the components may need replaced.

      The SmartPoint cannot be painted due to the regulatory information (FCC, etc.) that is printed on the device. This must be visible to remain compliant.

    The seal on my regulator is disintegrated. But I think there was also a seal on the outside of the throat as well. I didn't have good lighting it was night time. I took the regulator completely apart and cleaned it it had grunge and dust inside. I put it all back together blah blah blah but there's no gas coming into the house thus far. I think I need one of those seals like you just mentioned in this video. The regulator is for natural gas and it is located outside. It's 20° and when I took the regulator off I noticed a bunch of ice down inside their, the pipe,, all around the little spring loaded valve. Tomorrow morning we're going to pour more ethanol into the ethanol tank., it acts as a water dryer. There's nothing to these regulators now that I've taken it apart and put it back together, I understand them better now.

      If your regulator is a Sensus/USG model, we may have a replacement tetraseal for it. You can email our sales team (sales@hollandsupplycompany.com) and they can provide better information on what we currently have in stock. They would also be better equipped to provide guidance on your issue, though you may also need to contact your utility about a replacement.

    It's 20° out and are natural gas stopped flowing. Gas is getting to the, cuz I checked the bleed valve. Seems like the regulator went bad. Maybe need a new one? It's natural gas and it's outside. We do have to pour dryer into that tank out there sometimes. I don't have a pressure tester so I don't want to adjust the plunger bolt. I'm kind of at a loss right now and there ain't no one to really call or have come fix it. I'm going to have to do it myself. I will check on the radiator to see what model it is.

    Can I run it without the yellow spring on the end of the reset plunger rod? I didn’t know the orientation and it was too hard to line up. I just put the rod back in without the little yellow spring. I’m not talking about the main spring.

      Hi there, sorry for the late reply! These do not. Although it’s possible to include internal reliefs on the 243 monitor-control setup, that’s a pretty rare application that we’d suggest avoiding entirely. We use the “-1” models that do not have internal relief valves.

    Brings back lots of memories. Last time I stripped down a 441 was back around 1990, maintained them for nearly 20 years before then. Worked on lots of them, 2" to 6", mainly 441VPCs. I seem to recall the top hat diaphragm in the video is for the 441-2100 series, only had a few of those. Happy days.
