Bacon Bike Tours
Приєднався 12 гру 2013
Hello All
Bacon Tours is not a company, it's a group of friends and family who enjoy travelling by motorcycle together.
A happy family tours together, and that's what we do!
The name comes from a joke made by a friend during their wedding speech when they said "Bacon Tours organises everything" and it stuck.
Between us we've seen Western and Eastern Europe, USA, South Africa and New Zealand and we don't plan on stopping.
As we get better at editing we will try to add more videos of our tours and other motorcycle related videos
Thanks for watching

Should Have gone round lake Bala then turn left for Carno, nice road.
@@davemould5868 will put that on a future route. Thanks!!!
Sounds like the older camera is better. Damn!
Each episode I'm still blown away by how much of lovely country it is, and yes you got to pay the cheese tax 😂
@davros8222 problem is even the cheese was expensive!
@@baconbiketours9166 yeah but still cheaper than the Jaz cake Tax 🤣🤣
not boats they are ferries
You deserve this beautiful trip, enjoy it
@proaz4034 thank you :)
happy to see you riding AGAIN good trip
@@proaz4034 thanks. :)
Welcome back guys glad all is ok ! another great video take care and ride safe
@jimbalshaw7347 thanks. Some family stuff took up editing time for a while but back now:)
Welcome back! I’ve been waiting a long time for this episode. I’m glad that you are back on the channel. I coincidentally discovered your channel some months ago, and I started following it. I was getting a little bit worried, if something had happened. As a Norwegian biker, living in the center of southern Norway, I have been riding all of these roads for decades. I know every one of them as my back pocket, and the sceneries honestly doesn't impress me so much, as I see them and ride through them every day. But they are nice, anyway. I’m glad you like them. And I must say - it’s charming to see how careful you are when riding on unknown roads. I must admit that I usually ride considerably faster than you do. That being said - on a couple of occasions, I had my heart up my throat, when you were riding on the left side (the wrong side) of the road through some tight twisties in some earlier episodes. You should be lucky to be alive! Anyway, I look forward to the rest of your roadstory, and if you need some advice or guidance for even better roads for your next trip, I would be glad to help you. Kind regards from Hans Petter Eide from Lillehammer, Norway.
@hanspettereide3313 HI, thanks for the message. We had some family stuff so had to take a break from editing so all good now. Thanks for watching. I think the issue with the "side mounted" helmet view is it sometimes distorts the view of the road, please rest assured, we never move across the other side unless we have a view of the road ahead :)
Doesn't look all that cold. ❄️
Maybe just getting soft in our old age :)
I have enjoyed watching this series and subscribed for more of the same. Just wondered whether you have more in the can to finish it off? Thanks
Yup, in the process of finishing trip. Life got in way, apologies.
Mach loop not Mac loop, it's not Scottish knitting
I’m not a biker but I’m really enjoying your videos especially round Wales as I said yesterday it’s my happy place and I go there at least once a month looking forward to watching more of your videos
Thank you
And there is a good cafe at Vyrnwy and another good cafe at Dolgoch Falls
Not tried that one, thanks for the heads up!!!
I have a day out at least once a month in north Wales I usually start at Lake Vyrnwy then over the mountain pass to Lake Bala then across to Dolgoch Falls and into Tywyn it’s just stunning no matter what time of year you go
9:44 The weird thing is, the Gogs themselves are the only ones who never say it properly! For some reason, they can't pronounce the letter "L" within a word (not quite as bad as cockneys, but just as weird in their own way!). Ask a Gog (the nickname for a North Waliens!) to say "Bala" and you'll see for yourself!
Many thanks for filming your trip. I enjoy the relaxed family feel to your adventures. The Atlantic Road is a bit of an anticlimax! You were lucky, it was very busy when we were there. How about a short video about your 3 bikes and the mods you have made to them to make your tours more comfortable etc😊
Great idea, thank you :)
I enjoy seeing your videos. In this video you was passing my house. I'll thing i remember i saw you. I live in the black house on your left. It's on the gravel road 6.30 min. In the video😊. Keep filming i love your video's. Erling.
Thank you. Editing still in progress but work is busy, more videos soon :)
Worth every penny! It was slightly more reasonable than I was thinking.
Cheers. We had to shop around, the cost of some of the accommodation we looked at was shocking!
where is the rest of the bike trip videos ?
Currently in edit. It takes ages to work through footage and life's been busy. They are coming Thanks for watching :)
A very comprehensive breakdown, thanks for that…though it was far from cheap, which I kinda knew, but very helpful guys, thanks again..looking forward to whatever 2024 brings us.
Thanks, ride safe:)
A trip of a lifetime so well worth it I reckon. It mounts up though, doesn't it! Thanks Jay :)
Need to win the lottery :)
that was good thanks very much for that
Glad you found it useful - thanks for watching :)
That was really useful. Thanks
Thanks for watching and commenting :)
Really enjoyed watching your tour 👍 this video has been really good as I don't think I've seen anyone cover what the trip costs. When I do a trip, I don't really look at the total cost as I probably wouldn't do anything 😂😂 glad you're all safe mind 👍
Haha, the stingy old man in me would agree. Only did it as loads of people asked. Thanks for watching :)
@baconbiketours9166 Yes, it was excellent to see the costs and the first time I've seen anyone do this 👏👏👏
Welcome back!
Good to be back :)
We went to Norway in July and had good weather at first. We hoped to cross the Artic Circle but heavy rain and low temperatures defeated us. After the waitress mopped up the huge puddle surrounding us at our lunchtime table, we turned right over the mountains into warm dry Sweden. Really enjoy your videos which show ordinary folk getting the best from their biking holidays. Thanks for taking us along. Off to Ireland in April in my new Goretex clothing. Still taking waterproofs as well though!
Definitely waterproofs even with the best gear. Sounds like you had a hard time weather-wise, hope you get sun in Ireland :)
I actually felt I had to put a coat on to watch this. I'd sooner you than I!
Weres your sense of adventure?
Well it was probably raining at home on that day too, but it doesn't stop the scenery from being epic on holiday rain or not. 😊 Rumours abound the UK to Norway ferry might get the green light again soon, makes 2 weeks in Norway more achievable and less rushed. Fingers crossed. 😅 Great video folks.
Thanks for watching - to be honest it's not too bad doing Holland and Denmark, but yes, the Scotland boat would be fantastic.
@@baconbiketours9166 True, I've not done Denmark yet but Brugue is well worth a visit as you get over the channel.
@@S.p.a.c.e.C.o.w.b.o.y I'll add it to the, very long, list :)
Shame about the weather, the views along that road I'm sure would have been spectacular 😢
It's just a good excuse to go back and see it :)
@@baconbiketours9166 😂😂👍🏻
Love how you're so positive with that weather, and the cabin looks like a skip 😂😂 never understand how clothing manufacturers get away with saying things like waterproof when most are clealey NOT 😂 I've got a all in one hi viz waterproof for about £50 from Frank thomas and it definitely is but some see it as not trendy but I don't care 😂😂😂😂
We have those yellow suits that are waterproof, unfortunately we stopped too late to pit them on lol
Love the video and the banter while driving! <3 Velkommen back to Norway any time I hope you enjoyed your visit :D
Thank you. Beautiful country :)
:)) Liked and subscribed my friend.. I recently returned from an unexpected Edinburgh City Break and did the A68 . Its true Once you have done the 68 it needs to be qissing it down before you would just choose Motorways up into Scotland. Every town is a gotta get a coffee stop and find the castle :))) Its Mary Queen of Scots Land at Jedburgh.. Could have spent a day there if I had allowed enough time :))🤓💯❤🩹🙏🤳🤳
Thanks for the sub :)
With scenery like that, not even the rain can dampen the spirits!
No, but it can dampen your underpants lol
Looks amazing, but as you say, it was very expensive 😢 never did like camping and definitely not on a motorcycle 😂😂
Cheers for watching. The accommodation wasn't to bad but we did book in advance. Met a few people who were booking as they went and were paying much more.
Still enjoying these videos, looks like you didn't have the weather gods smiling down on you this day 😔
And a few more to come lol
Finally, driving the 2019 1000 XT myself and loving bacon. This is going to be great, thanks for posting.
Been poorly over Xmas, back to editing and some more videos soon. Thanks for watching.
Thanks a bunch for the video. I've ordered one of those spare cable sets - bad memories of a broken throttle cable where the end nearly cut through my fingers limping home and holding on the end of the cable!! Not recommended!! I won't be carrying quite the same amount of stuff as you as I won't be wandering too far from home in my mid-70s. Thanks for sensible advice not OTT. One passing thought jump start kit etc. I'm blessed with a little bike that has both electric and kick starts. It's a shame that all bikes aren't the same. Best wishes from Paul in the Midlands
Many thanks and happy new year :)
It is so much better when not speeding along every road - we get to see the scenery in more detail. Much appreciated. It is so enjoyable watching this. Appreciate the drone footage at the end and all the editing that must have gone on behind the scenes. Looking forward to he next one. :)
To be fair, speed traps everywhere did have an influence lol thanks for watching
Speed cameras don't apply for motorcycles, sorry you were afraid of them the whole trip in vain 😳 You just have to keep a look out for manual speed controls!
@marcusisacson that day it was the manual ones, for some reason we didn't see many on other days, but loads on that 1 day.
Not something we get to see very often on YT vids is the throw of the headlights - those VStrom lights are good!
Thankfully :)
Com on girls. yoy on vstroms. dont ride if your Bami on ice.
Ride your own ride. Thanks for watching.
We both really enjoyed this latest video, the views are lovely, love all the rock formations and the green grass.
Thanks bud
We discovered roundabouts in the tunnels and rode through the longest tunnel in world when it was opened I believe. Most are well lit but I had a very scary moment coming round a mountain bend straight into an unlit tunnel. Another great video. Thanks for all your hard work filming and editing 😊
We have one of those coming, spectacular aren't they :)
The views are wonderful, but the road is narrow and dangerous. Thank God, you are not one of the riders obsessed with speed. Thank you for sharing this beautiful trip with us.
We are all old and slow :) thanks for watching
Nice to see safe slow riding and enjoying the views 😂
There were speed traps everywhere lol
😂🤣 believe it or not, the reason the Scots don't pay any attention to English motorbikes with UK registration is (wait for it) because they also have UK registtations on their vehicles 😎🤓😂🤣
Hi, It's been so long since I edited this video I can't actually remember what this relates to, but no doubt one of us made a daft comment lol thanks for watching
It's started then 🤣, your lovely better half mentioned at the beginning of the video that the Scots don't take any notice of UK registered bikes like they, as you said in the Balkan countries do 😉🤣
enjoying your channel which I’ve just found. Any chance of making it easier to find out where you are on future videos? Even just showing road signs or town signs? Always enjoying working out routes being taken…
Thanks for feedback. We'll see what we can do :)
A proper little adventure in the dark!
I was hoping we didn't hear banjos!!!
Enjoyed that 👍
Thanks 👍
Loving the Enduristan luggage Jay. I felt for you on that gravel road in the drak. You know you are maybe just moments away from losing it followed a world of toil, stress, possibly damage and time lost. Glad you rescued the situation mate.
Lots of sweat lol hope alls good with yoy
All is good here and loving retirement. Happy days.@@baconbiketours9166
