I just got a 6 month old sun conure a few days ago that I named calcifer! This is my first sun conure but second conure! I had a maroon-bellied conure for 11 years, but this is a new step for me! I don’t wanna stress him out and was told to at least let him stay in the cage for a few days while he gets to adjust his new environment. But do you have any suggestions for someone who works about seven hours a day and what I should do to help him with getting comfortable where he is and any tips on how to interact with him properly.
I think your already doing a great job🙂 But try to sit there with him when he is in the cage and just talk to Calcifer so he can get used to you. And try to spend as much time as possible with him😀
@ Thanks
Budgie is Best I Have 2 😅 ❤

Bird,s are my Best Favourite Pet. Since Childhood and Forever in my Life. 👌👌❤❤
I would just add this - sun conures are no more and no less noisy than any other conure. HOWEVER, they are among the loudest. Keep in mind that loud and noisy are two different things. I've had parakeets and cockatiels that never shut up. My sun conure, Skittles, is among the quietest birds I've ever owned. He can go hours without making a single screech. That being said, I am disabled and home at least 20 hours of every day and when I'm home he is out of his cage, he's free-flighted. In my opinion, allowing a sun conure to be free-flighted around the house is a major noise-repellent. Sunnies will not screech for no reason. There is always a reason for their screeching. If you can figure out a way to communicate with them, you can end up with a very quiet bird. For example, my Skittles will fly over to the sink and land on the faucet - ruffle his feathers and sneeze which means he wants a bath. He will grab his treat dish and bang it when its empty. He will fly onto the fridge corner when he wants juice. He even goes to bed on his own. If you take the time to understand them, they are remarkable companions.
Whatever your skittles does..even my sunny does the same.. though he gets jealous often when I hang out with my cocktails and he craves attention so much...he is my little lover😂
@@indushree7018 Sunnies are indeed INCREDIBLY jealous creatures. When I had a tiel, he wouldn't let me go near her. Sometimes, if he doesn't come over to me when I ask, I will 'talk cute' to some random object, like my remote. I'll say in my 'birdy voice', "you're such a cute little remote! yes you are!". He hears that and he hightails it over, head feathers raised and is all "I don't be thinking so!"
The female Sun Conure makes sounds when sitting on the eggs. What is the reason and is this normal?
actually 🥸☝️ "conure" is a word for a lot of species of birds from Brazil (I live here) it can be a "tiriba de barriga vermelha" or a "jandaia sol" but yes they appear to have te same temper 😂
Green cheeked conures bite so much tho 😭😭😭
The rainbow Baird remembers my old Baird it was just like my best friend but a cat eat My Baird....... ....... 😢😢😢😢 It's ok because my Baird is now in heaven❤
Condolences on your loss.
My dog is afraid of my sun conure 😭
I have one male budgie and I was thinking of getting my budgie a finch friend. Google says it's a good idea. But I want to know, male or female?
NOOOO absolutely not. the budge will destroy the finch. ONLY if you have alot of space then it would be ok.
Hun var sørme fin, tak for kigget ☺️
Thank you for your amazing videos. 😃🐦🐦
hi there i hope you will reply i bought a sun conure bird aged 2-2.5 years old male the previous owner said he was tamp but after bringing him at my home i noticed he doesn't want to come out even not come onto hand or finger on the other hand he scream and bite out hands and fingers we have to grab him and take him out of the cage but he doesn't want still it has been 6 days he act as same but after coming out of cage he enjoys it but when its time to bring him out of the cage he refused and he bites us what should i do?
@@crydevilcry Hey there🙂 Yea i had the same problem with one of my caique. And my best tip its to give them a treat every time they go in the cage again because then they will not see it as a bad thing. But it will take some time for them to get used to it🙂
@@lasseschreiber i really don't want to get bite from the bird but my partner loves the bird so much i noticed her finger it was horribly bitten by the bird and there were some scar on her finger but still she take him out of the cage everyday and pet the bird like a baby but in a sense the bird fear us and scream while taking him out of the cage and bites so hard i want a tip how the bird can get rid of fear.....
See this is a hard question but my best tip its to spend as much time with the bird as possible... Give treats when it do something great. And a tip is to go in a watch some videos about it og read it🙂
My Budgie talks well he can say give me a kiss, gorgeous and what ya doing plus he makes all the noises my Quaker parrot does. My lovebird is new and already makes the kissing sound 💞
How did you teach him all
I have a Quaker parrot, a budgie and a lovebird 🎉😊
@@Jo-eh7ux Nice 🙂
I found it interesting that budgies are thought to have the best potential for speaking even over the larger parrots. In fact the vocabulary record holder was a budgie. The pair bonding with Love BIrds can be annoying, one al;ways pases before the other and then there can be a problem.
Lovebirds are extremely high maintenance birds and need a special diet like sunflower seeds most of the time and absolutely agressive towards other birds ,budgies are way better choice
Lots of sunflower seeds are not good for any bird. Quantity ans quality is important.
my love birds are always biting me....
Budgies are a favorite of mine. They're so affectionate towards you, fairly easy to train. I have 4 and they're such a delight. They sing to me every morning!
Aw, I got a fab 4 too! Budgies are so sweet and happy plus a little mischievous. Always keeps us laughing!
As a owner of a female fischer lovebird i can tell you . If you don't have the patience, and don't want to face a lot of anger of a bird don't get a lovebird. Only get one if you're gonna get a male because males are more calm and less territorial than females meaning they won't get mad if you put your hand in the cage. Or get a pair because they will be happy together and you MIGHT not have to deal with the anger of the female lovebird
How do I clean the cage then
I thought about cockatiels as my first birds
@@unknownunknown-mw4ql Also a very good choice
I have two female budgies, they are very well behaved and keep silent if someone is sleeping, I want to add a cockatiel to the family but they don't respond well to others in their territory. Anyway, love the video and birds ❤😊
same. though mine is male and female. I too would want too add a cocktail.
Hej Lasse. Igen en super god video. Sikker du kan repræsenterer de forskellige fugle, så flot. Jeg tager hatten af for dig, hvis jeg havde en 😂💙👏
I've never really messaged anyone before. But I have a rescue cockatiel that I've had before about 4 years now. Close to 5 he was trapped in a cage. Couldn't fly. He actually tried to put his wing in the cage when I was bringing him home and hurt himself. I nursed him back to health, it was the only time he's ever let me hold him slowly but surely he's been trusting me. But I don't have the bombed with him like I would like to. He has now and has been for quite some time made home with my Bundy, which I was working really hard with my bungee. And now that's gotten us so any suggestions
And again thanks to all does who Watch all my videos💪💪

@@silverbeast730 sorry i dont know the model name😥 What kind of parrot do you have?
@@lasseschreiber a jenday sun conure ( 20 yrs old ) and recently a cockatiel ( 3 yrs old)
@@silverbeast730 Alright really nice Birds 🙂👍
Montana is the brand name. They have different models.
Nice🔥
Come on guys we can do it💪
Awesome video. It's informative. I've been looking at birds lately. I don't think I can commit to actually getting one but I like thinking about getting a bird or two some time in the future. They're all cute. I have a suggestion of making the music quieter compared to what you're saying. It will make it easier to follow what you're saying. The music is a bit too loud and distracting.
Thank you for the info. Hope you one day can get a bird😊
@@lasseschreiber Oops. I meant quieter. Thanks. Me too. : )
i have green cheek conure, they are just like sun conure, this little thing won't want to leave me alone.
