    Nice one. Best to point out which side of the fascia to lift first (LEFT) if you're not 100% certain the fault lies with the button fascia plate you don't want to damage that connector. Thanks for posting this repair. Anyone in UK selling a working Minelab Explorer XS/SE give me a shout : )

    Cool hunts. Those green mini bottles are sweet. Thinking about that Florida cabin-any chance you coulda have been in the orchard rather than near the house site? That'd explain the tree tags and the absence of house targets like hinge plates, nails, and such.

  • @sylvia4425
    @sylvia4425 8 років тому

    I like the pinpointed mod placed on top of the unit. Doesn't it add weight to the machine though?...or do you find the placement at top "balances it out"?

    • @fortunehunters2086
      @fortunehunters2086 8 років тому

      The pinpointer doesn't add much weight. It's a nice, out of the way spot and I've gotten quite used to it. If I ever get a new machine, I will find a way to mount the pinpointer in the same spot. Thanks for watching!

    Wow, Thank you so much.fantastic info! Great to know that some repairs are available. The Minelab company says that can not get mother board or circuit board parts for the XS anymore. If you send it back to them they will try to repair it, but admit that they can only do so much. So let's hope our Explorer XS detectors never develope any serious problems, or we might be just out of luck. Thanks again, and HH!!!

  • @allenkoe

    How do I get to your video page? I would love to see the repair process, as the Minelab company can or will repair the XS machines. I'm kinda new to computers, and need instructions on how to see your site. Thank You, and HH!

      @fortunehunters2086 9 років тому

      +Allen allenKoellner detectorbits.co.uk has the panel for 60 or 70 bucks which is a heck of a lot less than sending it to Minelab. I don't even know if they repair the older machines. Here's a link to the panel repair: ua-cam.com/video/jnNBH9Jr0zQ/v-deo.html Just click the "Fortune Hunters" next to our icon below the video to watch more or if you are subscribed, just click on our icon and go to the videos section to watch more of our hunts. I hope that makes sense... Let me know if you need any more help.

    Love my explorer XS. Know it inside and out. Lot to learn but one hell of a detector. Would love to get an e-Trac or a CTX 30 30' but for the price difference and the type of detecting I do, I'll keep on keepin on with my xs. Go Minelab!!!

    • @fortunehunters2086
      @fortunehunters2086 9 років тому

      +Allen allenKoellner I feel the same way! I just repaired mine a few months ago. I was going to step up to the CTX 3030 or the XP Deus but after a few months of thinking, I think I will run the XS until it pukes! By the way, if you need to replace the control panel for the Minelab Explorer series, we have a handy guide on our video page. Just look for Minelab Explorer Control Panel Repair. GL & HH! Go Minelab! Thanks for watching!
