Looks a pretty straight tractor and sounds like it runs well. The boys should run it into the workshop over winter and give the old girl a new coat of paint. She would come up looking a treat. Also hang a set of ripper’s off the back and it would save a lot of stress on the blade dislodging the stumps.
3:18 would a ripper blade be a good tool for getting the roots ripped and cut to help getting the tree stump free and pushed out of there?
Essa máquina tem muita força💪😎
I helped my dad rebuild, and replaced a broken torge converter, and converter housing on that model 25 years ago
surprised you don't use a 330 cat track hoe for your stumps
Life would be easier with a angle blade on that old 46A, my favorite D8 dozee
I think if you had a angle blade you could get along better
would it not have been quicker to use the digger, just saying , they are far more efficent at stump removal
Love those old low rpm engine’s , so much torque. Also great cattle dog hanging out with his buddy
Poor operator,at stumping no idea.
I started my machinery operating days on D7E back the early seventys I have allso put in many hrs on 7Fs and 7Gs which are a little bit more nifty but 7E has abit more grunt especially when they really knuckle down plus that awesome 4 cylinder sound !!
I want to buy a kenworth 849
Good easy start no either
46A
Good operator
Man, that machine must last forever with such a smooth operrrator! Good job
Ein Zauberer vor dem Herren! Ohne GPS,ohne Laser, ohne Computer.Er und seine Cat sind Eins. Wegebau von höchster Perfektion.Ich könnte stundenlang zusehen.
That is some beautiful soil for up a mountain. Wonder what state, and area he is in.
That had to be the worst piece of machine operation I have ever seen. I could push more dirt with my Tonka Toy.
That’s why you don’t cut the tree and then push the stump just use the tree to use it own weight to get it when the dozer pushes it makes it easier
Good videos mate.
Good to see you back love watching your videos
Best sounding cat engine ever...!!!
Is this in lake Cowichan?
keep making vidyas we'll watch anything. totally agree with you actually working with the iron instead of them crappy will it run videos
Nice looking country. The bridge rebuild would of been really interesting to see.
Cut and fill.
Ha! there's a doggie on board at 3:53... :)
I like it, I love it, I need some more of it!! Love your channel and content, keep em coming!
I’m glad your making videos again I really injoy the old cats keep up the good work
Man the 8 looks good! I like the older iron, I have a 977l that was a loggers in placerville, use it to hobby log my 3 acres in Magalia😂 love your content!
WCRB, u shouldn't be driving ur truck by using only one hand..
Love watching the videos love old school equipment!
Listening to both those tractors gives me a hard on, keep them videos coming partner!!!
Want to see more videos on all of it. The machines working, the roads being built, the maintenance & 'upgrades' being done to the equipment. It's one of the reasons why I originally subscribed long ago. Hope all goes well for you in the new year & I'm looking forward to some new videos!
My dad was a cat logger over on the Klamath, Happy Camp, Seiad Valley and then later out east of McCloud. He had a D7E, D7F, D8-14A. All new at one time, well used when he retired. Good tractors, the 7's were basically an ideal logging cat for medium sized timber because they had a good center of gravity for skidding. A D6 bought later needed a short arch to lift the front of the skids, the 7's didn't. Is the Wharf Restaurant still down by the harbor?
We’ve worked up around McCloud some. I love it up there! Yes the Wharf is still here and kickin
Nope. Never gonna get tired of dozer videos. Great stuff. Wish you were in my area. Have a ton of road building to do but I can’t find anyone that will venture into the mountains. Plenty of people know how to build parking lots but not to many that know what to do with a mountain road.
as a fellow old junk jockey, I salute you, yeah they are ugly, and they might fall apart today, but they are paid for, and make just as much as new iron.
I wouldn't call his stuff junk at all. And I think this era of Cats are beautiful.
@@kirkpalmer1709 to be clear, im calling my junk junk, get over yourself ffs
I really dig yer content! Love Ca Gyppo log shows! LP was a titan in my youth! I am from Crescent City n love these old growth machines! Hope yer 23 is great dude! Im in Santa Cruz Mountains now n just appreciate seeing these old Cats!
Welcome back
He's good.
nice i grew up around these and K's with my brothers in the summer with my Grandpa Russell Hassett, hey pioneered roads for Robert Dollar then it became Glendale Plywood and its now Swanson Group. those were good time I even have a video from the 50's of him logging for Murphy lumber near Williams Oregon with a TD18.
Brings back memories....use run our old 46A....had a TD20 to....love that Cat tho....thank you.Shoe in SW Oregon.
I was young on a mountain side with d5 in a hurry pushing a path and got on top of a tree. I slid about 30 feet and was too afraid to bring it off the mountain. Sat there for a week while I worked my nerves up
Grew up on these, best sounding Cat ever.
Wore the seat out of a few jeans operating 46A's and 36a"s and I sure couldn't have done it without hearing protection. That dog must be deaf.
Could watch him all day lol
Music to my ears but hard on the knees after 8 hrs
I can do that, just don't want to.
That dirt looks like a dream to make roads with. The winch is for beginners incase they tip it to far or logging. I'm guessing but you can set high lead logging with that winch set up or even cable block logs out if steep terrain with that one.
That's a cool technique digging a corner and widening and getting more dirt on the steep corner front digging the blade tip up high side .
