Honestly, am a great lover of Carnatic music and Chennai for that matter always sport a topnotch look in December simply for Music bonanza. I envy Carnatic musicians a lot but always have high regard in my heart for them. Not everybody can be blessed with such music sense

One way its great to see Vinod as fantastic musician but hard to understand why you guys fly to US just to make money robbing off your Indian traditional values??? But still I strongly believe those who are good at carnatic music are blessed enough to produce quality music. Is it a status symbol to move to US and waste your talents there when the opportunities are in abundance here itself

I think he only acted in Rhythm as child actor, but i presume, he would be at the age of 8 or 10 in the movie, which was released in 2000, so now he would be in his 30s, but he says he is 24.... So i doubt whether he is the same person... If he is 24 now, he should be at the age of 4 during the movie shoot, but it seems impossible

Nice interview! Reveals Ramana's mature and balanced thinking. I liked how he answered the question about taking CM to global audiences. No matter what, there are limitations to how far you can popularize a highly evolved and sophisticated art form, just like quantum physics cannot be appreciated by everyone. Leave alone global .. understanding of CM north of Hyderabad itself is very limited. I agree it is far more important to expose the younger generation in South India to our art forms - that, more than anything else, will contribute towards keeping them alive. While we have so many gifted young performers in CM, the audiences are stll largely older people. That worries me more.
