Taxman - The Beatles (Isolated Bass Cover)
Taxman was first recorded on Thursday 21 April 1966 and it was finished on Friday 22 April 1966. There were 11 takes on day one, with take 11 being the best. The second day of recording consisted of overdubbing the cowbell and “Mr. Wilson, Mr. Heath” lines. It was mono mixed on 16 May.
Taxman was written when George Harrison found himself having to pay 19 shillings and three pence in every pound to the government in form of tax. After they stopped with the extremely hectic touring, the Beatles decided to sit down and examine their accounts in detail. It turns out that they didn’t have as much money as they thought they did. “We were actually giving most (of our money) away in taxes,” said George.

Dig A Pony - The Beatles (Guitar and Bass Cover)
Переглядів 6 тис.Місяць тому
Dig A Pony was first recorded on the 22nd of January 1969. There were a few studio takes recorded, but the boys weren't totally satisfied with the sound that they were getting. On Thursday, 30 January 1969, they went to the roof. There was only one take of this song from the rooftop, and this ended up being on their last album, Let It Be. Some things to note about the playing: 0:01 - George cou...

Thanks to @shiekofaraby for the suggestion! Dizzy Miss Lizzy was recorded by the Beatles on 10 May 1965. It appeared on their 'HELP' LP in England and the US. 10 of May was one of the last days of recording for 'HELP!', as only a few weeks after Dizzy Miss Lizzy was recorded, the albums were on store shelves! There were 7 takes of this song recorded, and the final take used was the last one, ta...

Very lovely ❤
You need a 6G6-B Bassman.
Great video. You missed a few embellishments/mistakes on the record, but still one of the best covers I've seen and the great tones from your tele and casino more than make everything a-okay. Peace.
@@mangomonkey6938 Thank you for the feedback. I did find it hard to try to recreate the clipping of Johns guitar near the end of the song, but hopefully I can try to nail the mistakes in other songs :)
@@LindenAtchison Hey Linden..... Listen to the rhythm guitar at the end of the second line of the song, behind "want my jockey to play" as one of the guitars returns to the D early. Also on the 'hey diddle diddle.....' line there's a bit of a flub under "play my fiddle".... to name just 2. Peace!
@@mangomonkey6938 Thanks! I’ll give it a listen :)
Great! Greetings from Brazil.
Very nicely done. You even got the E6 chord! You may like to see how our tribute group Peter Paul and Mary Alive performs Blown' In The Wind. There are a few videos on UA-cam
@@WillKruger Wow, thank you! I’m a huge fan! I’ve seen quite a few of your videos; you guys are awesome :)
@@LindenAtchison Thank you, keep the videos coming, I'll subscribe
also do you have problems where your low e is a little loose and not as full sounding as the other strings? mine is like that even after my luthier set it up :(
I'm sorry to hear that, I can't say that I have had that issue. The only thing that I would suggest (you may have already done this) is figuring out if it is the actual string that is the problem or the intonation/bridge intonation. It could be that the bridge is a bit too high for the low e?
how the hell did you get this great of tone without upgrading the contemporary at all, you have the best hofner tone in the beatles recreation video community! did you raise the pickups to get more thump?
Wow! Thank you so much for the kind words! I didn't really do much to the bass to get it to sound like it did, but I do have one suggestion. For Logic Pro at least, if you are trying to get the Rickenbacker bass sound, you need to have the control plate configured so that both pickups are active (although the volume on the bridge pickup is all the way down). The sound from this differs quite a bit from just having the neck pickup switch on. My other suggestion is to fiddle around with compression. Depending on what platform you use, I would suggest just playing around with it, as it's pretty vital to that Rick sound.
What a fantastic performance have been a fan of the channel have a great day also happy last week of January from Canada old friends
@@aminahmed2220 Thank you! You too :)
Are you playing through that Vox Valvetronics? If so, what settings. Thanks.
@@timothyzetzsche3517 I actually use Logic, and I’m using the Big Stack amp with some compression and almost all knobs at the 12oclock position
I'd love to see you cover What You're Doing on either bass or guitar.
@@sgt.pepper-1967 I’ll add it to my list of songs to do! :)
I'm very impressed with your tone, it's spot on! I've probably practiced this bassline about 100 times, and I still can't get it right. Well done!
flip it lefty McCartney. very good
Plucky dead-on bass tone and the best basslines from McCartney himself seconding Dear Prudence, great work!
The last few seconds of "Martha My Dear" display some pretty impressive bass work by Sir Paul, as well. 👍
I have that exact same bass. For a more authentic look, I bought Hofner teacup knobs to replace the original black control knobs.
@@elijahbey3366 Cool! That’s so crazy because I JUST got teacups for the bass a few days ago!
Beautiful song.
@@ELIABELPRO12 Thanks 🙏
Very good, i'm play too bass. You are the best🎉❤. Keep it up
@@ELIABELPRO12 Thank you very much! :)
This is great!!
Please do Can’t Buy Me Love
Very good
Thanks!
You got the rhythm tone with a telecaster better than most people with real rickenbackers
@@skarloeyexpress4353 Thank you! Yeah for some reason the telecasters can get pretty close if you tweak the amp enough :)
Perfect Playing ! instruments sounds great, i love it ! 🔥❤️🔥💥👏👏👏
Excellent rendition of this great song!
I love this. The younger generation is keeping the music alive.
Very good!! ❤
Nice one mate!

How about 909? Thanks!
@@DavidDotson-lo6rp Sure!
Paul really owned that song, didn’t he 😂 Great lyrics from George but it would be nothing without Paul’s bass and driving lead guitar solo/fills
@@markydh83 I agree ☝️
Another masterpiece Linden! I'd love to play I've just seen a face with you. One of my favourite Beatles songs.
@@richardpelland661 Thank you! I would love to make a video with you 😊
Not very familiar with Peter Paul and Mary but I’ve definitely heard this song before. Beautiful playing mate! Really enjoyed the acoustics and was cool seeing the bass being recorded unplugged.
Thanks! I hoped someone would notice that the bass was indeed unplugged :)
@@LindenAtchisonI think it was to emulate the sound of a double bass
@@ABCFORKIDSCOMEDIAN1998 Yeah, with a few EQ tweaks, it sounded quite accurate to the record
Excellent work guys!
Thanks Dom!
Please do a cover of Yesterday. For McCartney's part, you should use the guitar in the bottom screen of this video.
I'll add it to my list! :)
Very classy production, your videos look better than most bigger guitar channels!
Thank you very much! I appreciate it :)
Can you do RAIN by The Beatles
Sure!
do a bass only cover any beatles song u want
Just realized the base video is flipped to appear left handed. 😂
Johnnie Johnson's song that Berry stole
Fantastic
She said, she said!!
Casino is the best Beatle guitar, great job!
Excelente trabajo, muchas gracias!!!
Amazing work!
@@dryiteslad Thanks!
good how did you record it ?
I’m plugged right into Garage Band for the bass and guitar, and I isolated the vocals and drums using some ai software
@@LindenAtchison ok thanks
Do you use the garage band amp sims, or plug through that vox behind you into garage band? If so are you micing the amp or just putting it straight into GarageBand? Sounds really good and your playing/timing is impeccable dude! Very accurate performance. Anyways would love to know your process for recording cause your tones are super accurate and stellar!
@ This video was an anomaly as I ran out of the free trial for Logic (I now own it). I just plugged into what sounded the closest for the record (in this case for the Solo I was plugged into the “British” amp and I used the Tone Boost pedal).
so good!
