Did you say the top was 1/4"? What school did you go to? Just looking at it on your video, it looks to be around 1/8" thick.

@@bobreichel Well, Bob. I must ask what you vision prescription is? It literally is and is specified to be between 3/16” and 1/4”. Definitely not 1/8”. My micrometer has it much closer to 1/4”, but that’s only if my uneducated self read the tool wrong. Just messing with ya. Anyway, thanks for watching. Take care.

@@BarrRunForgeit's 4mm that's 0.157 thousands so around 25 thousands larger than 1/8th I guess my vision is pretty good.

I had one of the green ones. A complete piece of junk! I gave it away! Horrible vibrations, and impossible to anything but very rough sanding regardless of the belt grit! Noisy as crap, and the table grooves were a constant problem. I hope the gray ones are an improvement!

I've been "eyeing" one of those for awhile now, I think it should be a good starter belt sander. If there are any super fine grit belts for it I want to try honing my knives w/it; cuz I suck at knife sharpening

Safety tip: when you turn on a grinder or sander stand to the side and let it run for a minute, especially when changing belts or wheels. That way if it comes apart you are not in front of it. grinder cut off wheels are called suicide wheels for a reason. I had one come apart on me week before last.

I know it may sound small, but depending on the size of your material, it's just right. Put a good belt on it, and a little loctite on the lock nut 🔩
