It almost looks like the vertical linearity is off. I’m guessing there isn’t an adjustment for it. Maybe fiddle with the vertical driver see if there are components that may affect the linearity. The yoke coils may be wrong?

I was wondering about this project the other day. The board I bought is still unopened lol I doubt the problem would be a power supply problem, or a signal compatibility problem. It could be on the high voltage circuit, or, more likely, the circuit that provides horizontal and vertical signals to the yoke. The defect here is almost exactly like one I had on a security system CRT. Except that it would also distort the image a lot more. I couldn't figure out how to fix it.

I would bet $100 both come out of the same factory and are made by a company that contracts for apex tools. That’s probably the one company that Hf contracts most of its product lines too.

Skip the developing of the camera roll and then scan it, to just take the floppy disk right out of the camera into the computer was revolutionary back then.

I work with computers weekly, so Ifixit is my choice. When people ask me I tell them to buy the Quinn (especially when on sale) and use ifixit for replacement parts. Great comparison.

Have you tried shooting to memory stick? It uses less compression in MS mode. If you’re shooting at max res and really want the photos to be usable that could be an option. When shooting to floppies I like how the compression looks on the 1024x768 setting better than 1600, plus you get way more shots per floppy (:

Mainland china is 50Hz territory afaik. You need a PAL image source, not for the color, but for the frequency.
