I've just listened to the three Kate Winslet readings of The Enchanted Wood,The Magic Faraway Tree and The folk Of The Faraway Tree ...now onto another childhood favourite...I was reading Enid Blyton long after I was supposed to be reading mature stuff .gloarious stuff to relive part of my childhood.Can't wait for Kiki's squarks!

I've never heard of Kenneth Williams at all before a few days ago. This would have been a delightful thing to listen to as a child. His natural baritone voice is very soothing. His comedy videos are fun to watch, too.

Had no trouble understanding. Listened thru headphones. I think the narrator is Bernard Cribins so people who are not British may struggle with his quirks of pronunciation.

why is it panned to the left

Plays absolutely fine for me - no idea what all these complaints are about. Finishes at 02:49-ish and then starts again though, so it isn't actually four hours long. That's the only oddity for me.

Not sure what has happened to this but it’s a faint noise that sounds like a tape being played too fast when it’s been chewed up. I love Kenneth Williams readings of the William stories and hope this is just a glitch.

Hard to find some of Kenneth Williams best narrations? Have audible taken them all? I know they now have Steven Fry’s narration of Sherlock Holmes, which was previously available free on U Tube. My absolute favourite of Kenneth’s narrations is Cold Comfort Farm! His voices are just amazing, far preferable to any film made.

Nobody does voices like Kenneth Williams, who needs a film? You can imagine each character perfectly, his narration is second to none. Shame to see some of his most entertaining work seems to have disappeared?Only to be replaced by many far poorer attempts!! ✊♥️

So many of his wonderful narrations seem to have disappeared? His narration of “Cold Comfort Farm” is by far the best I’ve ever heard! Who needs a film when you have Kenneth Williams, his many voices conjure up the characters perfectly. Such an amazing talent always sadly missed ♥️✊♥️

Sound not working

Love the story, great reading. However, looking at the picture I keep thinking that Hal Linden is doing the reading with an excellent British accent. No offense to Mr. Cribbins. I keep waiting for him to go into some Barney Miller.

I'd forgotten how wonderful Williams was at storytelling. I believe that his readings on the kids TV show, Jackanory, was the most popular of all.
