Comparison of Wampler Pinnacle, Art Sounds 50 watt Plexi and Rivera 55/12 Marshall channel for a mid pushed 80's metal tone that apes Sir Edward of Halen. Thats a neat lil comparison.
Fret buzzing like crazy lol no bridge will fix that till you set it up right!
Wireless systems are always buffered, which you should be aware are going to change the way effects respond to overall volume input. For those that control gain levels on certain Drive and Fuzz pedals , it's good to be aware of what a wireless (or a tuner) is doing when placed first in the chain. While buffers are often right and good, it pays to be strategic with their placement. Personally, I prefer to be firmly cabled to boards and amp. If you want volume swells, a good passive volume pedal is much easier to master.I started with Morley, and despite a remaining fondness for their bulky clumsiness and optical operation, I no longer use their product.
This is the first time I've ever made this comment on a UA-cam post, but I'm finally going to weigh in on the same thing MANY have commented on in MANY wah and volume pedal demos. Here goes: Why do so many who demo these feel the need to do it barefoot? I understand they want to be relaxed and comfortable, but at least wearing socks is much more appealing. To those who make the videos: think more about what may appeal to or turn off the viewer, rather than just your comfort. At least during the few minutes a video takes to film. Like it or not, a lot of people think it looks too "nature boy", like someone who probably also goes to restaurants and parties without shoes. If you're going to film something that multitudes of people will see, show them some respect by being fully clothed, as you (hopefully) would in a live social setting. It's just common sense and good taste. To the maker of this video: I don't mean to make you the "whipping boy" for all the other barefoot videos out there. You at least deserve credit for not simply keeping the camera on your feet the entire video, as some do.
Just as there are those with fetishes for feet, there seem to be those with issues ; I suppose that figures. Personally, I could care less either way.
This is suppose to be a way to fix that ua-cam.com/video/iIHjmO2EQ-c/v-deo.html
Gretsch's don't sound like proper Gretsch until you put a Compton bridge on em.
Yes you can adjust its curve...but it’s like anything else, you can also adjust yourself after you practice with it. (Dude, put some shoes on and turn up the volume a bit!)
That pedal uses a volume taper, not a linear taper. That's why the volume suddenly ramps up.
Thanks for pointing out that volume increase is not linear. That was excactly the info I was lookinng for!
Package your thoughts before you speak, sir.
yes a tad long winded for a volume pedal ffs
No cigar!
Very interesting thanks .
Thanks for this, very helpful.
Does he ever play the guitar. I gave up. Blah blah blah
Can't watch...
Socks or shoes please.
It’s great, but it doesn’t fit in Ibanez SA series guitars. I don’t know if it will fit properly on a strat either!!
No do one with pedals or drive and you will see the issue. This wireless system squeals under and drive. I returned it
Justo lo que buscaba gracias buen hombre :D
Please put some shoes on
God yes. Please.
Shit yeah
significant difference, good improvement this compton bridge

Take a look at this doc from the Morley website... www.morleypedals.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/ttvolumeadjust.pdf ...it explains how to move the position of the LED's in order to adjust the swell rate of the pedal. Not an uncommon thing to have to do with new Morley pedals. It's a bit of a pain that you have to do it to a new pedal, but honestly I think it's the only short coming as in general they are built like tanks.
Kevin Bruce Cheers, thanks for that. Good to know, even though I think I am decided on the subject of volume pedals in general!
went to that link, and just got the Morley site with no location that has a pdf. Looks like I found some helpful hints to make the optical window more the shape of a long triangle. Then GENTLY move/bend [without knackering] the LED's to best/optimal spot for best performance. Morley should do this to EVERY ONE OF THEIR OPTICAL PEDALS, but - ya can't fix stupid
Your overloud intro sucks just sating wont waste my time now on your crap
NHguitar57 shame, I'll miss your well thought out, quality contributions
0.6 Latency for this System is by far the best when compared to other similar Systems . I ordered mine waiting for delivery FREEDOM from cables I cannot wait !!!!
Surprising tonal difference where I thought there would be none....I would not have thought there was any method of adding brightness to the wireless signal unless it was intentionally added to the circuitry which leads me to wonder, have you maybe AB'd the green cable with other cables? Just wondering if the true sound is what the Xvive is reproducing and the cable is cutting your highs maybe due to it's capacitance, length or whatever...
chatter really fair point. That cable has been played back to back with some others I have of same length and sounds pretty similar. As you would expect, I have shorter cables that are "brighter" - (well, lose less top end is what I should say.)
I've just heard of these recently and probably the best choise in the price range at the moment, I'll definitely buy a set when I save up a little bit. Nice Devin shirt btw :D
Bence Tóth cheers, they are well worth it! (The Dev shirt and the U2 Wireless!)
Pretty much exactly my findings too O'Dog. I'm at a loss when people say they can't hear a difference. Maybe it's because a lot of the reviewers are using driven tones which bog all over the subtleties of the sound and render it impossible to really gauge anything. So yes, much more HiFi than a cable and in a slightly irritating way. There also seems to be a little emphasis on the pick attack too that is a little off putting at first, that could be caused by an internal noise gate in the system opening up. I had to dial the amp in again tonewise to get back to a sound I was happy with. Not a biggy though. However it is a noisy little bugger with a pronounced hiss. I'm using a Quilter Micropro 200 amp and those suckers are dead quiet. So just going straight in with nothing in the fx loop there is a noticeable hiss when the unit is turned on and I can hear it in quiet passages...and it annoys me :-). Latency is OK too. However if you move away from your amp you get a delay in the sound but that is not caused by the wireless, that's just normal propagation delay of the sound waves. Guys who use a wireless on a big stage always use inears to get around that issue (Imagine The Edge 100m away from his amp trying to synch up with dotted 8ths) But all in all these are seriously good bang for the buck. If you are on a budget then they are definitely worth trying and the things that I pointed out are only really minor in the grand scale of things. Once the drummer starts up it's game over anyway :-)
Mike Henderson interesting that noise was noticeable in your setup. I have a pretty high amount of noise in my garage running into my deluxe so it seemed pretty similar to a cable to me. And yeh, easiest way around that is always a heavy hitting drummer!
Imo there's no good or bad.. it's just different. It's like comparing a strat with a Lespaul. Some prefer more spanky tones, some prefer more muffled tones. It can compliment your rig or not. I'd rather have more high end and turn it down on my amp if needed.
Roussis Nakos totally agree. Tone stacks are there for a reason!
This was more useful indeed, demonstrating the difference in use with a cable. I just got one set after having enough of the noise I had on my rig due to the disastrous electric wiring in my place. Barefoot on the floor I'd even worked as a superconductor.... After how much time struggling with this, buying ever more and expensive cables, power centers and do I know what....I found these and suddenly got rid of most of the noise and got a way more transparent and alive tone, difference of day and night. For me this is a winner.
Iwan Andringa cheers, totally agree. I was very sceptical, but the top end is normally the first casualty of tone and it was definitely retained in my comparison. Thanks for commenting!
