2+ Years Without Hearing Aids (What It Was Like)
Переглядів 117Рік тому
Describing what it was like without working hearing aids for 2 years, before I get new ones. One thing I forgot to mention was the impact on my speech clarity and pronunciation without hearing aids. I think it has slipped a bit, maybe a lot, because without working hearing aids, I can't hear myself better to self-correct my pronunciation. I hope that will reverse and improve again when I get ne...

Inform about your problem to the place you bought these from. You probably have dirty microphones and that is it. You won't see it naked eye. Bring your hearing aids to specialist they should resolve the problem easy. Resound also has warranty for these.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will ask the audiologist if it could be dirty microphones.

We are very lucky here. The appointments, the hearing aids, the batteries, and the replacement parts are free. How expensive are the batteries there?

You are lucky indeed! 🙂 In the US, some health insurance plans *might* cover some of these things, but in my experience, most insurance plans do not. On Amazon, it looks like a pack of six P675 batteries cost about eight US dollars. From a local store, it may cost a little more due to markup. It might also be a little cheaper buying more batteries in bulk. Also an off-brand battery might be cheaper, but as I mentioned in the video, I can't be sure about the quality of those batteries, so I buy brand-name HA batteries only, if I have a choice.

How does the process work in your country (which country)? Do you pay at the audiologist office and the government reimburses you? Or does the audiologist bill the government directly?

I live in London. The UK has a national health system called NHS. It is funded by the tax. We don't pay anything in any service. Phonak, Oticon, Resound, and Siemens make specific models of hearing aids only for NHS. They are good but not as the ones they sell on their websites.

We get the batteries free from the national health system.

I've heard of some countries providing that for free through their national health care system. The United States does not, afaik.

Thanks! Maybe I'll give them more time and reconsider whether to keep that color. Thanks for watching!
