Im schizophrenic. I had several TBIs as a child and dissociated a lot. My experience with schizophrenia is that it's severe neurodegeneration. When I looked into the Neuroscience behind it I found that it is entirely or partially caused by synaptic pruning. Synaptic pruning is a normal process but in schizophrenia goes Haywire

Amazing video To me, it reinforces further, the idea that we have no or at least very very little free will. I hope and pray we are able to reach a point in medicine and society more broadly where we can understand, and accept, our true natures, and the fact that not one of us chose our parents, Genetics, Gestation environment, early childhood on and on, to create and shape our Brains. I also hope we can alleviate the suffering. I think its remarkable that the majority of people are able to go about our lives without these symptoms - when you think of the complexity involved in the brain, the fact that for most people, most of the time, its reliable, its absolutely amazing.

Isn't it true Or should there not be something to say w regard to longevity with those, diagnosed, thus stigmatized (another important Factor impacting one's path 4ward contingent on what is Told to them, according & only becuz of what med schools hv indoctrinated into their curriculum & if challenged, face consequences), now told they will never be cured, here's some meds we aren't really sure but know they hav devastating consequences- remember, our brain's are the most complex organisms we kno least about- but take them. If they don't help, we'll increase dose or & add on another. If that doesn't help, we'll continue to 'experiment' until we find a ' cocktail' & dose that suppresses your symptoms but worry not, for rarely will we shock & horrify you or your family on the devastating side effects from long term use of these brain changing drug's. Not only will they cause the shrinking of your brain by up to 25%, your life expectancy is shortened too as direct result of taking these meds. Those are only 2 of the endless black labeled list of serious consequences. Highly recommend fact checking me on this. In short, it is curious & something to investigate & consider whether it's the chemical lobotomy caused by the drug's alongside the no cure diagnosis & stigmatization assigned especially, when compared to those that chose a treatment plan resisting these brain damaging drug's?

Malcolm x was diagnosed with schizophrenia because he didn't trust the government... what world are we living in... Why trust a government who supplies weapons to kill others... Also ive noticed another disgusting trend. Victims in war torn countries are taking to tictoc lives to ask for money. They are obviously in great need and are dying...its like watching real life snuff films created by the government. And people recon the world is getting better...things are being exposed..yes....but nothing is changing.

My daughter has and she is 38. As a mom? My journey with her has been very different from my peers. I was 3 weeks past due, her heart beat stopped twice, the chord was wrapped around her neck. I was toxemic also. Dr., did this happen at birth? It runs in our family. What’s sad is she has experienced trauma in early childhood so that compounds the difficulties with keeping her sober. She goes into psychosis when she relapses. It’s hell. I’ve had to save her life 3 times in her adult life. In her youth? She was on a IEP by 7th grade. Any words or comments about it this could’ve happened at birth I’m curious. We had a c-section emergency…

It's more about certain people that have underlying mental conditions that can make those people worse. I was fine smoking week in my younger days, but even I realized it was clouding the mind to a certain degree and the gaps between being on it and off it had my personality shift. I observe the this same thing in everyone that smokes weed. It's almost like taking to a different person when they are off it, compared to being on it. Those that do it daily, well.. you can't see the shift before they constantly are stoned

I had an Apple sized insect bump on my knee once and went to urgent care telling them it's a spider bite because i keep waking up with spider bites every morning. He told me it's MRSA, because there aren't really spiders in my area that leave bites this extreme. (I live in Pennsylvania and and there is in fact brown recluse spiders all around my area) I have had MRSA many times in my life, 3 hospitalizations with IV vancomycin to finally cure the infection. I told him I can assure you this is not MRSA. He shook his head and told me I'm crazy and took a sample and sent it into the lab. And just like I tried telling him it came back negative for MRSA. I had to go to an infectious disease doctor and everything. I wrote that doctor a long letter educating him on the types of spiders that are local to where we live and told him to please listen to patients when they tell you they know what is going on with thier bodies. I asked him to please not be so quick to dismiss what patients say. That just really irked my soul.

Wow thanks Doc that was so informative ... I can relate with all the symptoms I'm sad that our eyes only opened now all along we were exploring other routes that didn't make much improvement like the symptoms have been there forever but out of exhaustion we ended up getting so used to them not knowing that the condition was worsening and now I feel so helpless because my sister has always opened up to me but I guess out of misunderstanding I ended up dismissing her... I myself feel so exhausted I feel I have nothing to pour into her my cup is empty. Yesterday we went to a mental health institution because she was hallucinating, crying and shouting... They gave her meds I am skeptical because in my country I don't think mental health awareness is adequate... Please suggest on strategies to deal with this situation... More especially in a country where there aren't much interventions done on issues of mental health. Especially the not so obvious mental health issues

Also, are these short or long term changes you’re referencing and how is the alleged help measured, defined, and where is this information coming from? How much is personal anecdote? Great thing to discuss further, would love to help!

Don’t know how fun or cool it is regarding eye movement. 🙄But honestly the cure is not in the brain. Schizophrenia is an overall breakdown of health in the immune body causing hormonal imbalance. To prove my point…Look at why the Ketogenic diet is showing promise in resolving diabetes. This diet works directly on the hormonal balance and is shown to be able to regulate mood and metabolism and decrease the tendency towards diabetes. Diabetes is an autoimmune disorder. Keto restores health to the body by reducing insulin through the reduction of carbs, sugars and fasting. This decreases mood fluctuations and restores the gut microbiome. A healthy microbiome is critical to health of the body and brain. Healthy body, healthy mind. What this doctor is outlining is simply the parts of the body that are affected, as well as triggers; informative but no new insights. Some people get MS, some Crohn’s disease, some Hashimoto’s or Lupus, or in the case of schizophrenia the brain goes haywire. But the same diet will cure them all. It’s in the body not the brain. And a healthy body enables someone to cope with trauma more efficiently.

Brilliant summary of this terrible illness, which has several types of presentations. As a mother of a son who was diagnosed, a couple years after his first presentation, i lived thru the horror of how this can present. I became a mental health nurse to better understand. He was absolutely tormented and i found the psych services slow to intervene. Anti psychotics may not be perfect, but he can now live in his skin without the torment. Im reluctant to interfere with that, even though i fully support alternative treatments. I wouldn't want him to be put thru any more trauma while giving these a try.
